  1. DCRip: What really irked me about your first post here, was that you did not even acknowledge this release positively at all, you just said "is this legal?" -you only thought to concentrate negatively on it's legality and if I was breaking the law, as your primary concern and not the release itself being cool, just ok, or even saying something like; no it's not needed have you heard of DVDs before?(lol)

Please recall the past incidence of when I was nothing but praiseworthy for one of your past Jaguar CD video releases over at JS-II. As I recall it I thanked you massively in that thread and even went the extra mile for you in searching out and providing numerous links to WinRAR-type software for both PC and Mac users experiencing difficulties in joining together the RAR files you'd linked. I hope by having referenced that past occurrence you're now a little more convinced my motives in my initial post in this thread were not wholly negative.

I extend to you my sincere thanks and appreciation for releasing this movie to the community. I'm personally very grateful for it and have already downloaded all three CDs worth of data to soon burn onto CD-Rs for my Jaguar CD. Thank you. :)

Thanks man. :) Ok fair enough -We're all good! :D I do appreciate your support for my JagCD projects I was just in a bad mood yesterday and I guess I just can't stand to talk about piracy and the Jag anymore, it seems to have angered me. lol. Anyways it's my bad! Peace DC man. ;)

Thank you and all's good :) . Looking forward to whatever other projects you've hopefully got in the pipeline. :)

  3. Is this legal?

You could have at least done a little bit of leg work for yourself to find out if it was or not (might have taken around 2 minutes) instead of asking is it legal. to me its a tad bit rude and insulting toward the OP for posting something like this in a forum that is against piracy. The OP has been here long enough and has enough posts to know better then to post something illegal.

I only hope that you understand this now. and all of this could have been avoided.

Please refer back to post #25 for clarification this was already understood and acknowledged prior to you having now posted.

i can still comment about your initial post. the main reason is because i somehow overlooked the post you realized you was in the wrong. post 25 is my post, do you mean post 16 ?

My mistake - it was indeed post #16 I was referring to. *blushing*

As for you now commenting, " realized was in the wrong", well I don't believe I ever said I was. I acknowledged in post #16 that I perhaps ought to have done the aforementioned research before making that initial post. However, the question asked in said initial post was a straightforward query and I'm glad that at least one other member here, thund3er, understood it that way too.

I'm questioning your primary motive here, madmax2069. Your insistence on prolonging this discussion point (a point that had already been concluded) invites the suspicion that you're possibly more interested in causing unnecessary drama than in discussing ovalbugmann's fine achievement.

  5. Is this legal?

Is that all you give a shatte about? So what's it to ya man?? You & your pissing pal Laird gonna report me to Al and to the MPAA and to all the copyright dogs? wtf? Do some research before you start bitching at me. You use google extensively, looking up every funny picture on the net for the occasion, so why not plug this movie into wikipedia rather than suggest I'm doing something illegal here,.. pal???????

Holy shit mate, i was about to say well done and congratulate you on the project, then i read that. Im seriously getting bored of all this flaming now, all he was asking about was the project being legal and you throw a hissy fit?

Thank you, thund3r. I couldn't have put it better myself as that's all I did - ask a simple question. I empathise with ovalbugmann to a point as perhaps I ought to have used Google first to answer said question. As for the remainder of his post, i.e. the allegations and ranting, its probably best I refrain from comment so the thread doesn't turn into the flaming war you and I both would prefer not to ensue.

  6. It may not be 64-bits but I am getting tired of hearing reviews on the Jaguar saying that the Jaguar sucks because it isn't 64-bits. As if the Jaguar is the only console in history to ever over hype its capabilities. Anyone remember the whole Suddam Hussein supposedly buying PS2's to use as "super computers" for military purposes :?

    My link

You really think Sony had nothing to do with that story?

How about the Dreamcast's "it's thinking"... Was it really thinking?

Anyways, the Jaguar not being a 64 bit system doesn't make it a bad system anymore than the SNES not being 32-bit makes it a bad system. I, for one, enjoy the heck out of the Jaguar games.

True that. The limits of absurdity Sony employed throughout that, iirc, one year period prior to PS2's launch in the West seemed to hold no bounds. I'll refrain from listing specifics so not to venture too far off-topic but, yes, recalling memories of the whole damn nonsense that was the Iraqi super-computers farcical tale is making me cringe (and laugh :D ) even now.

To the best of my recollection no console launch in the post-Jaguar era has been accompanied by a marketing focus on bit count quite so dominant as the "Do The Math" campaign. Nintendo of course stated bit count within the name of their subsequently released home console, the Nintendo 64. While I vaguely recall some of N64's pre-launch marketing making claims of it's superior power relative to PlayStation I don't personally recall a highly visible sustained emphasis on the bit count. That said, Nintendo haven't traditionally obsessed with detailing system performance specs in how they've generally sought to market new home consoles - for good reason, some might say ;) . Keeping the "64" suffix from the in-development moniker of Ultra64 onwards suggests no fear consumers might have been deterred by any perceived Jaguar 64-bit connotations! :D

    Aaaaanyways...

I wonder if when marketing future consoles the industry took on board certain memories of the whole "Is it really 64-bit?" much publicised debate of the time that likely helped undermine Jaguar's mainstream credibility from the outset? Moving on from the N64 would be the marketing of both Dreamcast and PS2. Both had references to being 128-bit consoles but it came as one of several factors when communicating technical aspects, e.g. PS2's Emotion Engine and built-in DVD player and DC's built-in modem for out-of-the-box online gaming. Perhaps a secondary reason for both firms not overplaying the 128-bit message was to avoid becoming embroiled in a bits debate reminiscent of what plagued Jaguar, i.e. they'd already took a "Jaguar-esque" risk by using the 128-bit tag given that some have long argued neither console could be genuinely categorised as being 128-bit. In light of such instances as Jaguar, DC and PS2 perhaps its no surprise that the DC and PS2 launches were the last time a mainstream home console was officially marketed on the basis of the number of bits ;) .

    Finally...

The Tramiels sure were a little "unorthodox" at times in how they opted to "Do The Math"! Contriving to infer Atari Lynx had 32-bit sound, as referenced in some promo literature, on the premise "4 channels × 8-bits/channel = 32 bits" was genius  ! After pulling such a stunt it seems little wonder that some folk were naturally suspicious when they first heard details of Atari's media announcement that the new Jaguar console was reputedly a 64-bit system.

  7. For info purposes the TV I'll be bringing is a portable 1080p LCD HDTV so there's no chance of light guns working on it from older/retro consoles.

Just take your beloved PS3 & Time Crisis 4 :P Oh & make sure YOU GET YOUR LAZY ASS OUTTA BED AT A REASONABLE TIME THIS YEAR!!

Scratch the word "beloved" in case folk get suckered into believing such deviant thoughts emanating from your evidently disturbed mind!

That aside, playing Time Crisis 4 effectively on a mere 19" TV screen might prove rather challenging :o , never mind the possibility of the light gun sensor units not functioning properly on such a small sized TV. :dunce:

Oh, your interpretation of what constitutes "... a reasonable time" may markedly differ from mine! ;)
