  1. i am able to test if needed, there are other games that dont work that were not listed as tested by matthew. didnt realise ther was a possible patch. must have been sleeping that day !
  2. has risky rick been tested in this? if so, what is the outcome? purchasing the game and not being able to play it properly on a standard modded console is an issue for me, this may perhaps be an alternative if it works
  3. looks like the solder pads have been ripped off and the blobs are holding chips in the socket so they cant just fall out
  4. possibly a dead save chip or soldered backwards
  5. is there a PAL version of the latest bios, seems to be just NTSC, not greately helpful for me being in the uk
  6. unfortunately ggn has not integrated the raptor api 2 into rb+, from what i hear this possibly may never happen. so im afraid we are stuck with it for the forseeable future

    RAPTOR Lists

also feel free to give my list editor a go, when set up roperly it can ease the list cretion / ordering http://atariage.com/forums/topic/233057-raptor-list-designer/?p=3657035
  8. too be fair that value is some what questionable, i have used a 100ma optical mouse with ImpulseX before now and it has functioned properly and not destroyed anything so i would say your probably good to go up to 100ma
  9. do you still have the video ram attached to the main board? i removed mine to make room for the hdmi cable and rgb > hdmi adaptor
  10. I also replaced all the IC's on my RGB scart board. i dont think the new chips are an issue as surely the machine wouldnt work at all if they were ? i could test this because i kept all the chips that were removed i think apart from the actual bad chip (which was the most expensive part so i left it till last (the main system ram chips) ) i will dig it out tonight and see if i can trace some of the ? resistors and things. maybe put some resistor values on the drawing as well, could be useful in the event of the component blowing up or corroded etc?
  11. looking hopeful i noticed there are a few resistors that have question marks, is that because you couldn't read the writing on your board? i always suspected that variable resistor was part of the video circuit now i know any idea what it actually does?
  12. im going to replace all the transisters on mine at some pont in case they are feeling sorry for themselves
  13. it is the version that is all integrated into the single main board
  14. this my be difficult, there are almost no inforations about the french rgb scart machine, i have been looking for this information for some time because there are some display issues with mine, ghosting / lines gown the screen (not video ram as its been replaced with 5v ram) so, this i most welcome, if i can help at all let me know for electronic drawing, there are many ptions, you may try frizing or designspark pcb for easier ones, however none i have used have particulary good part librarys
  15. this is why i have always stripped off the universal header when i have made carts in the past and used legit Atari. the universal header will boot anything even though it is not correct 100%, at least with the EPROMS header there is some checking involved i have found that EPROMS sometimes are finicky and do not like their counterpart on a two chip board even though both chips have programmed and verified properly on the programmer. this is fortunately no longer needed with new developments for 4 meg games or less because the chips don't need to work together but yes return it to where ever you got it from and request another working one., the rom for that hasn't been released, neither the artwork for the cartridge label so you cant fix it yourself im afraid.
  16. would it not have been better to have the complete / nearly complete version and for the demo modify it slightly so that when you exit the first level the game restarts or goes back to the title screen and delete all th data in the demo rom after that point so that future levels are not present and leave the full version as full rather than incorporating both demo and full games into the same rom? this way the same goal would have bene achieved but possbly without the problems experienced. this being said, it is of course your project and you dealt with it how you wanted to do and i respect that. im just throwing some ideas around...
  17. is there a cheat or way to skip the first level so that users that cant get past the last screen of zone one can forcefully progress on the game by another means? that may be an option?
  18. i hope this statement does not include me! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/243746-wip-kaboom/ i have also been subject to steeling asshats see post 28 on page 2 hence i lost interest and have abandoned it for a while but do intend to go back at some point
  19. jus tested on a french RGB scart output machine main board revision 91209 rev B 5v ram mod all chips on the main board apart from the z80 replaced i fittedstock ram chips tonight as i had robbed them it seems for something else i could not get past the problem screen. unfortunately i do not have any other colecovisions to try it on. i do however have a friend with an unmodified console i could get this tested on, this will take time however, i will work on getting this done as soon as possible, hopfully the exact solution can be found eventually so we know where to focus out attentions.
  20. i am slightly struggling to understand how come there was possibly not very much testing of the game? if it was tested on a un modified console then fair enough, in reality, the components inside the colecovision are so old i expect over 90% of the consoles that stil exists in working condition have been repaired in some fashion due to dead components. if 5v video ram replace is the issue then there is some issue, this is one of the most common machine failures. i dont really accept the fact that its just this game that doesnt work on specific consoles modded or not. how come this has not risen its ugly head before in other games. there is an issue with the F18a RGB board and PAL consoles but once that is removed and the vdp is replaced again (5v ram or stock it works fine). if the F18a is attached to a NTSC machine it works fine on problematic games. this is known to be an interupt detection issue on the PAL boards if the timeings are this sensitive the game needs rewriting sureley? for the problematic screen for example: if player x and y coordinates are between these specified values jump to the code that exits the screen and draw the next screen. (i beleive this problem screen is the final screen of this stage?) and not wait for some timing event to happen that may or may not occur, in my experience it does not occur ??? how come it loads all previous screens up to this point and not this last screen? i am just throwing some ideas around at the moment because i dont appear to have a working (well enough) console to get past this screen
  21. i tried the ntsc version of the game on my pal console last night composite video mod + 5v video ram upgrade board version 91162 rev D i was unable to get past the problematic screen i will test the french RGB scart console tonight (if i can find the scart cable. i expect that will be also non working die to it be heavily modded due to the fact that it was quite badly broken when i got it. all my consoles were non working for cheapness and repaired myself the french console had an issue with one ofthe main system ram chips so those two chips are replaced along with every other chip if i remember, ill post the results of that test when i have them
  22. which region machines and which game region are they?
  23. i got to the problematic screen tonight. i think i got to it before but died (hit by the block) anyway, i was unable to get past it. i even watched a walk-through of rick dangerous for amiga which i was able to see what i was suppose to be doing and from what i could see i was doing exactly the same i have an ntsc main board with the ntsc version of the game with an F18A, as i thought best compatability i do have a pal coleco and a French RGB coleco i could possibly try but that would be a bit iffy as i don't actually have a descent rgb scart cable. the mean reason i didn't stick with that was there was some lining on the screen its almost like ghosting so i am not sure what the cause of that is. i do know someone with a unmodified french RGB coleco that i would get it tested on if that helps any kind of fault finding?
  24. although implementing the pro controller is a fundamentally good idea there is a problem with this however. the numeric pad buttons arent wired in a way that they can be pressed together and the hardware registers them as indevidual button presses. if for example you press the left and right shoulder buttons, the jaguar thinks your actually pressing 4 or 6 (i cant remember which one gets triggered but it is only one) i do not have a Super Action controller or any games that support this device, so it would be very difficult to create a reliable system (due to no testing) a jaguar rotary controller kind of works with the kaboom game, i was able to test this once. i do not however own this game or own a roller controller or anything with a trackwheel attached. there are no plans to add a non replaceable power supply i am not sure about AA / AAA batteries, these are 1.5 volt devices, the components needed are 5 volt tollerent. 5 volts does not devide into 1.5 volts, so some kind of power regulation would be required which puts loadon the batteries (wasted power). you may be able to get away with 4.5 volt but i have not tested this power is required for everything. the microcontroller used needs power to convert the jaguar joypad user input into colecovision input signals which are very different unfortunatly. the parts in the middle i have not answered directly, im not overly sure what you mean there so you will need to be more specific. on 2, on 3, on 4, on 5 ??
  25. everything that mr bones has anything to do with is full of fancy bloatware gfx, and not much of anythiing else im sorry to say. if he asks you to finish your game , you say no. if you say yes, he will cause you to get a BAD reputation by destrying it for you. i not sure how much doger codebase repourposing he can do....
