  1. I'd want to use D200 as the first four bytes of the header... but I guess all sounds aren't necessarily POKEY any more...
  2. There are a number of canned M/L PMG routines available to speed up BASIC programs. One place to start would be Compute's First Book of Atari Graphics, chapter five. https://www.atariarchives.org/c1bag/
  3. I seem to recall a simple, limited type-in compiler in an early ANALOG or Antic. It's been years since I foolishly sold my collection, otherwise I'd be digging it out right now
  4. I'll bookmark this thread so next time I wonder what's going on I can remember that I already know how to fix it
  5. Creating a new Admin account (named FujiNet, of course). and downloading the x64 flasher to that account worked. Back in my main account, running the flasher gets no response at all. The COM device is visible in Device manager (Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3)) in my main account. I have two 1.0 devices, both respond the same way.
  6. Same here - I've tried the x64, the x86 and the Test versions. Tried copying it to \windows\system32 to run it from the Admin powershell, but no joy. Edition Windows 10 Home Version 21H2 Installed on ‎19-‎Jun-‎20 OS build 19044.1415 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0
  7. Seven of eight, with the eighth also being NEC but in the more familiar plastic.
  8. Fantastic resource! Two observations: The SuperSalt manual link is giving a 404. And you don't have DOS 3.0
  9. By default, as I recall, no; you have to download Draco's (and then Chuck's, if you can find it) and install them in two of the OS slots.
  10. It's a CPU only, with a programmable logic chip inverted on the underside of the board. No OS. It did include a disk copy of MAE (65816 edition). All the pins are gold, which is problematic if you ever pop it out of a computer. They're very soft and easily break off. Draco has a native 65816 OS on his site: http://drac030.krap.pl/en-specyfikacja.php Burn it in to a 27128 and swap out the XL OS. Also has a 65816 BASIC: http://drac030.krap.pl/en-mb-zmiany.php
  11. I have an Antonia in an 800xl and also a FTe Sweet 16 (although it's not currently installed - needs some repairs before I can reinstall it).
  12. IDE Plus adapters also benefit from it.
  13. Here's a (non-Atari) story about Federated Electronics in the early 1980s... apparently, their customer service needed a bit of work. https://www.newsfromme.com/2021/10/15/tales-something-6-2/
  14. I have been on the board of volunteer / charitable organizations before, so I have great respect for those who serve and keep organizations running. (And my German consists of "Zwei große biere, bitte fraulein", so at least I'll remain hydrated..)
  15. Memory is accessed in 16K banks at $4000-7FFF, controlled through PORTB. The 130xe banking permits separate CPU/ANTIC bank access; some third part upgrades do not. If you program for current versions of SpartaDOS X, you can make system calls within your program to request expanded RAM and be less concerned about banking. ...of course, the original 800 uses an entirely different banking scheme for expanded RAM...
  16. Might also be worth asking @bob1200xl what he's got hidden away...
  17. Clearly you need some new titles that need a red shell...
  18. Club 747 at Place Ville Marie? I was partial to the patio at Café Frappé on St Laurent, with gin and tonic by the pitcher.
  19. In Atari BASIC, as I recall, you can't READ directly into an array. Try 40 READ X 45 A(B,C)=X
  20. It's a stackable ICD cart, with a custom GAL, like SDX and Diamond.
  21. Atari does not have a default screen area; ANTIC lets you point the screen anywhere in RAM. On the 130xe and compatible upgrades, you can point the screen to expanded memory while running programs in main memory.
  22. I put together CardStax many, many years ago; all Atari BASIC with some canned ML routines. Please feel free to rip it apart and improve.
  23. Old age hath yet his honour and his toil; Death closes all: but something ere the end, Some work of noble note, may yet be done, Not unbecoming men that strove with Gods.
