  1. Looking to talk to one of the VJ devs here because there is no contact info that I could find on the page. As some of you may know Tempest 2000 had some hidden code to unlock the use of a spinner in the game. The code would read the directional movements much like the atari driving controller. Some Jag fans have a modified controller that does just this. It works great on the consoles but sloppy on the emulator because of the USB pole rates. Though, it does work, well it did on VJ until the latest update. Now the code in the game appears to be hijacked. Pressing right makes the game respond like the spinner was spun CW, and Left respectively. This is a great features for anyone wanting to play the unlocked code with a normal controller but hurt the true spinner fans.

I'm really just hopping to here from a dev and possibly get a option "emulated spinner mode" figure this was the best place to ask. - all in good taste here, just trying to make emulation fun.

  2. Just want to let everyone know that the early bird deal http://skunx7.wix.com/bliss-box is open.

Yes, the KS was successful, not in the way of money but after seeing what KS (not fully explained in the setup) wanted, it would have been a brake even deal( little or no profit). The KS served it's intention of getting the word out. 400 units are sold, a few companies are on board and a new marketing team (cronusmax) is now taking over this side of things.

the naming the product battle has been done, more like it in the way that it server its purpose(It's a 4 play device, you won't forget the name, simple and to the point), then the now 3 people to make fun or point out some sexually pointless coincidences.

  3. Yeah sure you can find a d-pad that does the job but IMO some console controllers just have it perfect. For me its the fact you get options, for the first time there is a usb adapter that will here your plea for help. I was playing spy-hunter for the GC the other day and I could not pass the training (barrels slalom). Hit the L+R+Z combo to go in to d-pad mode and what a piece of cake. It is the things like that, that make it standout from the rest and each adapter takes on the same set of rules. Granted the main aim of the project is to use the older controllers. It's just that there is so much more being offered here.

To offer the same as the mega kit option (17 controller types * 4) would take a tub or two of adapters. As Rackboy pointed out you no longer need drivers. Some of the older adapter can;t even be using on 64 bit os's. The Bliss-box also works on multiple devices, and Os's. After the KS this adapter will start working on consoles next, have a nicer look (i.e drive bay options), and better and better compatibility like the gameport. Pledging on this is not to get a 4-play adapter, its to help Bliss-Box in selling products, the 4-play adapter is a reward. If you add up all the likes on g+, FB, and version forums post, along with all the youtube videos, and multiplied that by $1.00, you would have a funded project.

Bliss-Box has been around since 07 and will continue to make the hand made products. This KS was only an option to get it in volume.

  4. New review by Lon, more conprehensive of the featurs.

I think this video says it all the best, of couse the two videos combine do help. Getting down to the wire on this, if any one can share the video on gaming, twitter, and facebook sites I think it will really help.

  5.

TPR, Same here, I called a lot of places before I found a store with 7800 games. I guess things changed over the years, when I was younger there was "a" place you went to. Most everything is over run by the net now. Stores like this remind me of life back then but times they are a change'n.

  6. Hey guys, no affiliation here at all just dropped by the store and was pretty impressed. There retro collection was plenty and very well priced. I picked up a few items I didn't intend on buying. They had river raid, which I though was a rarity? Maybe I'm wrong or it was not the version I saw talked about before. Either way Highly recommended since the Flee mark is gone now. Hated buying at a flee market anyways...

  7. Ok, examining the board and info electronically.

    Some sources say no power

    http://rtfm.vtt.net/pinouts/data/JoystickAtari7800_pinout.shtml.htm

others say you need power. Opening my controller shows no power connected. I have two resistors showing about 616 ohms. and another component that is in line with ground.Sources call it a diode but current from my multi meter flow both ways, maybe its a zenier? Some how the game knows this is a 7800 2 button controller. I tried to replicate the board with no luck. The buttons with resistor do nothing. I saw a non asci schematic on the net at one point but can not relocated it.

I thought maybe the 7800 was detecting the resistance in button 1 and 2 but that is apparently not the case.

ok Prodos8 says: "I believe its an inductor??? What ever it is its not needed for the circuit to work as I've made several RSI:7800 sticks & NES:7800 pads without it that work just fine. Yes, the two resistors are 620ohm. Something close to that will work as well." http://atariage.com/forums/topic/127507-my-r-type7800-stick/

  8. It would help if you explain what you are actually trying to do.

Are you trying to make something like my DS2 adapter?

    http://atariage.com/forums/topic/231855-atari-26007800-dualshock-2-adapter-part-deux/?p=3155898

    I did?

I'm using a micro controller to act as a 7800

I don't know how to say it better? I guess it would be the same approach as that ds2 to 7800 but would have to prowl thru the code, if it is available. The more I consider this, It may be best cutting up a 7800 controller board and using its internals or just replicate it on a small board. Just seems unnecessary as the micro controller could do all of that by itself if I know exactly what to do.

  9. It helps yes but is from the reverse end, thus makes it more complex. Basically I need to simulate what you just said ensuring I don't harm the console. I'm not 100% sure what buttons go to what registers. Though if I stare at this long enough it may become clear.

-- Hmm, in that link d7 is directional right, or it would seem, that confuses me.

    Data Direction Player
    ----- -------- ------
    D7 right P0

The perfect info for me would be something like. If db9 pin 'x' is held lo (pressed -5v) permanently, then the system sees this as a pro-line controller, and so on and so forth. If you don't know of anything like that I'll start hurting my brain.

  10. I need to act like a 7800 controller. I know the proline has a few resisters in there and hold a line lo. But what does a game like Xevious do to detect it. I tried a few things but no luck.

I'm using a micro controller to act as a 7800 but not sure what the 7800 games are looking for.

  11. I'm making a device emulate the 7800 controller and I need the name of a game that will let me test all 3 buttons Left, right and Both (3d button). Or at least as I understand it both L and R make a third button. I need a game where I can test all 3 as soon as the game starts, not part way in. Any ideas?

  12. No if anything less. Lag is a high priority here and we constantly are making timing improvements. New discovery thx to the Interrupt Free V-USB project may be possible to add a turbo mode. Its untested and I don't think it will work with the ps3 or xbox but it does sound interesting. It has claimed to bring timing in between polls down to 2ms, however as long as we beat the frame rate we are good.

  13. yes, and you can vote. I'm not sure if you need to register or not?

    http://blissbox.freeforums.org/ks-opinion-poll-t248.html

We are going to address the goal and keep the prices how they are or lower them some. The 150k was heavy and filled all previose funding as well as a good margin to mass produce. Its clear that both the target price and goal are too high. The manufacture(making the units) does not agree that the price sholud be lowered so it's posible not much will come of that. One posible out come is to drop all retail packaging and go stright up OEM. A box of calbes, the board, and a quick referace sheet. Also marketing or reaching out to relevent backers will be re-done. The best funded KS pages are done so with prepping not waiting till after the launch. Also KS is not the only fundraiser... In addition we may try to offer other types of products like a single version of the adapter though we would have to hit over the target goal to do that.

Either way, all pledguers will know first, including the 1$ pledges and we are going to try to given them an insentive. We will communicate via KS updates first. They will also have the most inpact on what will be offered.

  14. Yes, I do but rders are on old till the first of 2015 because of the KS. We are planning another launch as this one looks un promissing. There are a few areas we hope to inprove on.
