other than ebay, is there anywhere to purchase the version 2 sean kelly multicarts for vectrex? i noticed sean kelly's website went down. i saw there was a usb flashable vectrex cart, but i'm looking for the preloaded suckers.

it's tough enough to find an eprom burner that supports 2532 chips - all take 2732, a chip easier to find in stores too, but i think are harder to set up to make your own carts.

does anyone know about using a 2732 eprom for atari 2600 games? once i learn how to use those chips i'm on my way.

ok, in answer to the original query - i found a 9v @ 500MA ac adaptor at an electronics shop, it had the wrong end so i bought the headphone-style end, soldered them together and voila. thanks to everybody for the help, without which i wouldn't have made this thing. now i need to test it.. i'm not home right now so we'll see if i blow up later.

i am going to do some shopping today - see if i can find a reasonable priced eprom burner (hah, wish me luck!) - or at least some of the chips i'll use. there's a hardcore electronics shop close to me soo i'll let you know how it goes.

i had an idea tho - since i don't have many duplicate common carts for when i actually do get my burner working, i was thinking about making just one cart, wiring a ZIF socket to it so i can just easily switch chips when i want to play different games, if this works i'll make a custom case for it and have a kinda universal cart. that is, if this will work. i don't even know if i can get a sif socket of the right size.

we'll see - it's a fun project to start anyway. once i get more adavnced with this i'll move to the dip switching multi-carts.

ok, over the last couple of hours i've been cramming eprom info.. i found a lot of expensive burners, but also this cheap one:

cheapy eprom burner...

i'm going to ask the guy to see if he can build me one - or maybe someone here knows how - i'll pay!

i think it will work with the 2532 / 2732 chips the atari needs..

???

yeah that's the guy who'll send more detailed instructions if i buy a cart from him... which i don't really want to do.

but he mentions an ep-rom burner, where can i get one of those?

one little side note - a friend of mine told me he found out how to do the same thing with GBA carts! i don't know the details yet.. but is this also possible?

hey all. i am developing a very keen interest in making my own carts.. i'm wondering if anybody has had experience with this?

I've seen a site (that guy who makes carts with modern games and sells em) but maybe i missed it, i think he charges for info on cart making.

i got the gist of it, erasing a common cart and then burning a new game onto it. here's where i need help. is it possible for an average joe to do this? I have above-average electronics experience, i know the basics in wiring and soldering etc.. but for this project:

1)what tools will i actually need? I need a list or something..

2)is it a standard, downloadable ROM file that goes onto the cart?

3)does the rom stay in the cart permanently until i erase it? or does it fade away?

4)jesus, how to i burn a rom to a cart?!

i really want to do this, some games i just can't get in my area and i just want to be able to play them.

i've used ebay over the past while and i have to agree. also living in canada i feel the same lack of support. i think ebay has waaaaayyy too many users, there can be so much demand for something that it drives prices up drastically. i would recommend Amazon.com's auctions - i signed up last week and just bought a huge amount of atari games, all for like $3 us or so.. the thing is, because it's more or less "undiscovered" than ebay, there's hardy any competition! not one of my bids on there were touched by anyone else, i felt like i was the first person there.

anyway, give amazon a seach for what you're looking for, i bet you'll save almost half.

i have an even older unit a Coleco Telstar (pong) and i always unplug it because even when it's plugged in and turned OFF, the game still plays! when i turn it on again the score will have changed etc... but as for atari's, i don't know if they do this.

i just play it safe and hit the off switch on my power bar when i'm done.

anyone know a site / person that i can see some atari logo's? all the sites i've seen have little tiny ones.. i am especially interested in the logo with the red background and the atari symbol in yellow, in a box with round yellow edges.

i'm fairly new to the atari world.. i own a 7800 and just got a 2600 from an auction today with 2 driving paddles. however i can't use the 2600 until i get an AC for it .. but the driving paddles don't work on the 7800.. i tried playing Super Breakout.

are they just not compatable or what?

i've never seen one of these, but all i own is a 2600 and a 7800.. not that freak middle system

ok, the telstar pong ac adaptor is 9v but it says only 50MA... is that one dangerous to use? what is MA anyway?
