from what i remember- when i was a kid- the onscreen thing moves WAY faster with the paddle- but i always used the control pad, cause it was too 'different' for me at the time.
i would be willing to bet though that if you want to get far in the game- you need it.

You're not willing to part with that Wall Ball, are you???
no, sorry- that was one of the 6 games from that haul that i am putting in my collection.

aaaah but the real question is:
" are they in telegames boxes or the Bit Corp boxes? "

The Telegames ones have been selling for a lot lately, in my opinion... prob between 75 and 100$ on ebay.... which seems too high to me.
The Bit Corp packaged ones are incredibly hard to get, they rate a solid 10 on a rarity scale, and they sell for a fair amount more. Actually, i Have rarely EVER seen those on ebay.
For what it's worth- I bought the last Bit Corp ones I've ever seen a couple years ago and I think I paid 35$ a piece, new in the box- with the power supplies. I think the Telegames ones were selling for about the same amount around that time too.
Now is a good time to sell them!

You missed Skiing as a Telegames release. Both Amazing Bumpman and Skiing are no longer being sold by Telegames, since they sold their last stock several years ago. Skiing was sold either in the clamshell case or in a plastic baggie stapled to a piece of cardboard.
good observation- i had mentioned that to rangerG in a PM- guess i forgot to post it here... or he mentioned it to me- it was a flub.
good eye!
yeah, the plastic baggie trick with telegames is something else..
oh i forgot this-
i have a couple telegames games in plastic sealed to a card (like a star wars figure) that had toys r us stickers on em.
like any one at TRU would have bought those by the time telegames started selling them

I just got a Colecovision today so I've finally had a chance to play all of the colecovision games I got awhile back. Anyway, while I was going through them (checking to make sure EVERY cartridge worked) I came across a Smurf's Save the Day that was an odd shape and claimed to be for use on PAL TVs only. "Ok," I thought, "I'll just pop this in here, witness the weirdness of something PAL playing on NTSC, and then sell it or something"
To my surprise, there was no problem. It played like a charm. So... since I'm not exactly a pro when it comes to PAL stuff (this is the first time I've come across this), what is up? I thought the picture was supposed to be blurry due to the change in Hz or at least for the hardware and cartridge to have a few issues...
Either way, I love the Colecovision
My favorite game so far is 2010: The Action Game. The most unique has to be Destructor, which was the only game that I was able to use the steering wheel and gas pedal on. The roller controller isn't much fun (for me) and I have some serious problems trying to operate the Super Action Controller or whatever it is called. (They just didn't leave any fingers free for actually HOLDING the damn thing!)Anyway, I've heard of people being able to swap some NTSC/PAL carts between 7800s (with minimal success from what I've read), but I at least expected SOME kind of flaw in the game's graphics...
you must mean a different smurf game, smurf saves the day never came out for the colecovision

Great answer Willie, thanks! I would like to get the Telegames exclusives, but the label varations don't seem worth the effort at all - I agree with you totally. Do all the Telegames games sold through there website then come with a Telegames label? If so, I understand your questioning why putting Tennis in as a label variation. You might as well put every game in twice. Do Telegames 2600 and Intellivision games come with rebadged labels also?
One last question - I assume the Colecovision was PAL in Europe. The DP guide says that the Xonox double enders were only released in Europe and Canada. A) Then why are they listed as U.S. releases and B) If they were NTSC, then why were they released in Europe?
Now - about the Splicevision, just kidding
.Take care,
RG
I don’t know if all games come with a telegames label… I think some of the games, like Montezuma Revenge, for example, come with a printed reproduction label.
I think Telegames *may* stock some of the really common stuff that people never buy anyway… I’m not sure.
Tennis isn’t only a label variation, it is also a box variation- so I think it should be in there. It has an ‘official’ cardboard box, so yeah.
I have no idea about the 2600 and intelly stuff.
The ColecoVision doesn’t have a PAL or NTSC difference for some reason- all games work everywhere.
Well, we counted them as a US release since they were North American- they *could* have been released in the US, I’m not 100% on that- but it is doubtful.
Also, as a side note- the xonox double enders from Europe have different labels than the ones from Canada. Plus they are usually in black plastic casings, whereas the Canadian ones are slightly dark grey.
If you want any information about the Splicevision- just ask. I don’t know a whole bunch about it, but a bit.

im almost positive that the champ keypad does not pass the second fire button.
it's been a while since i used it, but i would bet on it.
maybe if you have a joystick designed to be used with it...made by the same company..?
but i kinda doubt it

Ok- Cosmic Crisis, Strike It, and Tank Wars were all originally released by Bit Corp. Unfortunetely, it seems the only place Bit Corp ever got these games out in original form was in the Netherlands… at least that’s where the copies I have seen have come from.
Telegames bought out Bit Corp at some point. I would really like to know when.. it would be interesting to know. Telegames bought out Bit Corp’s Dina 2 in 1 console, and shredded the boxes, relabeled them and sold them as the Telegames Personal Arcade. I have no idea if Telegames ever had any original Bit Corp game stock before they started just started manufacturing them under their label.
As far as I know- Boulder Dash has been out of print for at least 2 or 3 years. I have no idea why. I suspect it isn’t because of lack of demand, I think that they lost the rights to sell this game somehow. I also think that Amazing Bumpman is out of print, but I am not 100% on that.
Telegames will release anything they own the rights to under their own label.. I have never agreed with putting fathom in the guide- it never made sense to me. If you’re going to put Fathom in there, why not every other stupid game that telegames releases? That doesn’t make sense.
Motocross Racer, Tournament Tennis, and Kung Fu Super Kicks are the only Telegames releases that I have seen available in regular colecovision style cardboard boxes. Oddly, Kung Fu SuperKicks even says “Xonox” on the box… I have no idea why Telegames would get the boxes printed with the name Xonox and Telegames on the same box.
Alcazar and Rock 'N Bolt come in plastic clamshell cases with color covers and (I think) manuals.
The rest of the games are in plastic clamshell cases, with photocopied manuals and ‘covers’.
I try to avoid Telegames in the label variation quest. They are simply too much of a pain in the butt, and not worth pursuing outside of the games mentioned in this post, in my opinion.

i dont get it-
this game has never been found in brazil right?
only in the USA?
and where have the 'unearthed' copies come from? USA thrifts, right?
Yep, on the West Coast which isn't far from the Mexican border.
aaaaaaaah.... so the theory is, that they got imported to mexico, and just sort of wandered over the border over time?
yeah that makes sense..
damn

i can see from a technical standpoint why someone may think brazillian... but if they have only popped up in the US.... i mean....
i dont know about you guys- but i never find imports in thrifts-
even now, in 2004!
and didnt the first air raid pop up in a US thrift years ago..
i mean, its possible to be from brazil- you guys know far more about it than i- but it just seems unlikely to me

i can vouch for this guy (as im sure others can)

aaaah, just to think- three years ago i bought a sealed one for $ 200, and no one else even wanted to touch it at that price.

yes, approximate same value.
they are unusual, but the box art is not as cool as the european cbs releases.
those are GREAT

Thanks for the heads up. Here's a quote from the article:
"ColecoVision's return, however, has nothing to do with Coleco Industries, Inc. or its successors. River West Brands acquires, redevelops and licenses dormant consumer brands. Formed in 2001, it took over the ColecoVision name."
Anyone know how this affects ecoleco, since they claim they have the rights to reproduce CV titles?
Er? As far as I know, ecoleco doesn't actually make games. All their stuff is NOS.
Telegames, however, does, and RWB is licensing from them. The announced product so far at http://www.colecovision.com/ is just a rehash of the CD Telegames already sells.
perhaps you want to try buying one of their 25$ qberts qubes then...
they do make reproductions of games- and i doubt they will care about this unless they get a cease and desist.
they have made reproductions of homebrews even.

Well, Meteroric Shower wasn't questionable, but Tank Wars, in my opinion was.
That is definetely a fine example of Tank Wars.
That Meteoric Shower is none too shabby either.
I have that same Meteoric Shower- If you want to sell Tank Wars *please* let me know... That would look incredible in my collection

Wow!!! the photo of meteoric shower in the POST is same as mine!
Then EXIST the BitCorp version....
So i make a question:
Because in WEB there is no "GOOD" sources about colecovision? There is little amount off games...... (GOOD equal to a documentation with photo of box/cart/info/ecc..)
Next day i post my photos of bit corp games (now i haven't the games... is in my girlfriend's house)
Thanks.
No, you would be hard pressed to find much information about BitCorp ColecoVision games on the net. I consider myself an expert in this field, and I do have a sell sheet scan of pictures of BitCorp items.
If you need further information, or just to discuss these carts:
please email

Er, was Meteoric Shower EVER released on cart for the CV during it's lifespan anyway? It's the internal game to the Personal Arcade/DINA.
Tank Wars was, though, I think.
Pretty sure that Telegames still makes them both, too . . . http://www.telegames.com/ is a good place to look. . .
Personally, I like both games, although they're kinda ugly.
meteoric shower was absolutely made in cartridge form by bit corp- i have one complete in the box.

complete with price tag from the netherlands.
