Space Invaders Collection to be released at CGE2003
wberdan replied to opcode's topic in Classic Console Discussion
yeah, it was labeled cart # 01 (which actually i believe, after talking with slydc and newcoleco, is an ever so slightly different version) and it was signed by Mr. DP it sold on ebay about one week before the game was released to the public at cge, and makes such a nice collectible by the way, the reason i never got back to you about your game is that I cannot for the life of me get an emulator to run properly... willie -

any plans to sell a pre-release copy on ebay, like DP did with Ms. Space Fury? willie -
i also beat it a long time ago, i dont remember it being too too hard, just very tedious... get an nes advantage- as i remember having turbo makes the game a million times easier w

id just like to say that even though the jag may be capable of storing 16 bit sound captures that doesnt take into account how many samples per second that 16 bit sound is... and i believe in most jag games it is a VERY low sampling rate (prob 11k at the most) which may equal that of the neo geo, but is easily surpassed by the sega cd. willie

hi, thats right, i have this game and im looking to either sell it or trade it.. or sell AND trade it.... here's the story- i bought this on ebay several months ago, and as far as i know it is the only copy with these particular gameplay variations (maybe Tempest can back this up). i believe there are something like 4 planet of the apes protos found to date... this one is totally playable and has never been backed up or dumped. right now im looking for offers, unreleased colecovision games are my #1 priority, as are any REALLY, REALLY rare CV items... also i am looking for prototype or "10" rarity vectrex items. i would also dig released 2600 games that rate "10" on the DP rarity scale in trade... or complete games that rate a "9" ...finally, a complete adventurevision may sway me also (lol) if you are one of those lucky people with cash to spend, then i am looking for the best offer over $1,400. i can provide pics of the cart or screen shots- whatever you request if i dont sell this by the end of march then ill be bringing it to philly to show off to people .... cash + trade offers welcome! if you have any questions please email willie wberdan@gwi.net

actually, i DID offer this game up for hardcore coleco trade- and got three interested parties.. but nothing ended up happening. I absolutely hate to let this game go, but I figure I can always get another one in the future. ...and if the reserve isnt met then the game isnt going to be sold. $ 1,025 is the reserve. willie

the silver label quest for quintana roo generally runs between 15 and 25 dollars loose. there is also a gold label variation and several box variations. willie

try "adams house" @ www.ecoleco.com that place has lots of spare parts and such... good luck! willie

personally i dont see how a game with a print run of 10,000 carts can be rated the same as titles like video life, eli, magicard, and the xante releases.. where only a handful were ever made originally. i agree that the game is overrated as far as rarity is concerned. willie
-
that post is such b.s. prove it with pics man.... that would be the find of the year if it was true. i would say eli is more than 'a few hundred $$'. ... more like $600 to $ 1500 back it up.... willie
-
why would you buy a reproduction of eli's ladder? youd have to actually WANT to play the game.... right? thats twisted! willie
-
i had a crazy climber sealed... wanted to open it so bad, cause i'd never played it and i dont do emulation.... didnt though. i had it about 6 months... tough 6 months lol w

...apparently he never heard of the channel f. willie

tomarc the barbarian / motocross racer double-ender
wberdan replied to i_am_timmy's topic in Atari 2600
as a side note- that double ender seems to be the rarest for the 2600 AND the colecovision... as far as the coleco one, it was only sold in canada/europe and not the US.... does anyone know if the same is true for the 2600 one? that might explain the rarity. willie -
you can completely avoid using the switchbox by going to radioshack and purchasing a little adaptor called " female RCA to F plug", also known as " female RCA to cable plug" it allows you to plug in the rca cable that comes out of the colecovision and directly fit it into your tv. it eliminates the switchbox completely, sometimes drastically improving video and sound quality, and costs under 3 dollars. this link is an example of what one looks like http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1395217810 good luck. willie

burn in will definetely happen to any crt based display... it's just a matter of time. the only thing that can help preventing burn in is to reduce white level (contrast) when you play the same game for extended periods of time. if its an older tv i wouldnt really worry too much. i use a 52" 1988 pioneer tv quite often with no serious problems yet. a good rule of thumb: if its a really expensive tv that you want to have for years and years.... dont play games on it. willie
