  1. My game SHOGUN is almost ready to be released on the VIDEOPAC. This is a port of my game from the ZX81 and the ZX Spectrum. It needed a whole new way to code the AI since the VIDEOPAC has less RAM and a small stack.
  2. 4k voting extended No results received in december so start 2011 in the right way and place your 4K votes this month!!!
  3. Well, the start is made. You have the 4K to retry. BTW I too fell in a blocked screen in WIMP. But as stated it has potential. I am working on a new website with forum for 2011. Hope this will attract more coders/voters. 4K voting is now possible.
  4. You can simply set all scores to 1 percentage. I think it can filter the games that are a closecall to a rank 1-2-3 etc.. BTW only 2 days remaining to vote on 2K and submission of 4K games!
  5. Another month... 2K voting has started! The 2K submission has ended and the 2K voting has started. Voting can be done until 1 december! http://minigamecompo2010.00freehost.com/
  6. The 1K results are in, although only 3 persons have voted I can say that the votes are non-biased since each individual results looks a lot like other votings. And here is the score: 74% 1k Mazezam 70% Realm of Omari 66% Pitpat 65% Adventure 1K 64% Shogun 56% Qfrog 46% Pacman1k Update to the site follows tonight since I can't acces the site at work!
  7. Due to the low response on the 1k voting I have determined to extend the voting until monday 04-10-2010. This means that your vote must be IN on sunday. (I will check the mail on monday around 07:00 GMT, all mails before that time are considered in time). So this weekend you can still try out the games and enter your vote. Minigamesite = http://minigamecompo2010.00freehost.com/
  8. Voting of 1K ends on 30th september, so please sent in your votes!!!!
  9. Did it join earlier MiniGames? Not that I know of and updates are allowed (and can win).
  10. Only 2 days remaining for the 1K compo. We have Atari2600, Vic20, ZX81 and ZX Spectrum and we can use more... Please sent in now!!! (BTW Atari 2600 is the first to join 1K, 2K and 4K)
  11. "Shoot the B's" added! (and yes "Stratego" felt lonely!)
  12. Enter it into the 2010 Minigame Compo... I was gonna suggest the same, the more entries the merrier. You would make the first Atari entry! I do plan on submitting it sooner or later The 1K submissions must be in before the 1st of september
  13. Enter it into the 2010 Minigame Compo... I was gonna suggest the same, the more entries the merrier. You would make the first Atari entry!
  14. Now added MazezaM for the ZX81. The compo is open for ANY 8 bit system, so Atari 800 XL, Atari 2600, C64, Vic20, MSX, ZX Spectrum etc... The prize is the digital golden/silver/bronze medaillon and eternal fame (well as long as the website is online, my fame is gone) and with a lot of positive response the incentive to keep coding. I am quite hooked on coding in 1K, 2K or 4K.
  15. Hello to you all, The minigamecompo site seams to remain offline (well, I couldn't reach anyone who has the possibility to set the site online again despite several efforts). So I started a new site to host the compo for 2010. I hope to see your entries soon! Please if you can announce this on any other site! Dr Beep
  16. To give you some comfort: I must say that I voted "Insane Pickin Sticks" as the best, together with "TenTen", although I mentioned that "TenTen" could fith less memory! (votes are done under KOELMAN, not Dr Beep)
  17. I agree, most games should fit less memory.
  18. I agree on the result, however to my opinion in this years 1K the machine was more important than the game. In my opininion (i know some games are my own) games like "Fireball 1k", "Sokob-one", "Bolalela 2" and "1k Othello" offer more gameplay than "Elimin8!", "Konfl1kt" and definitely "Block Fill". Also some statistically numbers show that there is a 3% probability that 4 out of 5 C64 will end 1-2-3-4. The changes of all 6 Spectrum games ending in row on place 6 and lower is almost impossible. I would use the best parts of my machine too. True, most of us won't know the strong and weak points of other machines. However some machines have more advantages that directly appeal people (i.e. music). However this years nr 1-3 and 4 don't seem to be the most extreme programs to code (especially nr 4). I am glad you do. That's how I judge too. And yes I did vote a good ranking on some top-5 games.
  19. I hope you are joking, after reading your "hidden" message in your 2K ZX Spectrum entry? I don't agree at all, but will give your game 1 point, just like you are asking for. Actually I'm one of your biggest fans from earlier entries, but I strongly think the MiniGame compo has gone from a best coding effort to a best gaming effort compo. Perhaps others think otherwise. Just saw your reaction today. I am not kidding. About TRACERS: I don't need a good score for it. I only wanted to try to fit 100 puzzles in 1K. Not really the game for points. However all my other 1K games (and 4K games too) weren't the easiest to code. For next year I have a 1K ready which is addictive and fast. Another idea still needs coding, but the biggest problem is the speed of scrolling on the ZX Spectrum. So it is a challenge in coding and gameplay. Still waiting the results of the 2K !
  20. Thanks for the info. To me the game would gain higher if they were coded in 1K.
  21. Yesterday I played several 2K games to get an idea what to vote when the voting is on. I had a question about ATARI 2600 games. Although I liked some games (I will not tell which) I wondered if 2K is the minimum for 2600 games. A game like "Virtual Dieter" ressembles a lot with the 1K "Fireball" and therefore I think it might fit 1K. Can anyone give tell me if I am right in thinking on this or not? Dr Beep
  22. The forum seems online, but posting is not possible.
  23. I agree on BOMBER, but OTHELLO was only once a few years ago and it was a 2K game. MAZE was just to try an old game in 1K where it used to be about 4K. I gave FIREBALL a higher score than the average, although I thought it wasn't original, but it was wel coded. To me the original pupose of the MiniGame Compo ; to show (off) what you can do in 1K/2K/4K is getting lost on a simple judgement on a simple shooter rather than looking what is implemented in the game. Personally I thougt OTHELLO gave a lot of gameplay; DEMO option, 1 Player game 2 Player game Redefine controls Computer/player start Easy/Hard mode Sound on stonechanges Visible stonechanges Last stone marker
  24. Waiting for the results of the 1K compo. Can anybody tell me when the results will be online? TIA Dr Beep
