has not drunk the NES Koolaide.

It took me a long time, but I've finally come around on the NES. The cartridge port design is garbage, of course, but it's otherwise well-built. And I totally get disliking the large amount of overly-difficult platformers that the system is largely identified with, but it also has tons of fantastic arcade-style games that most Atari fans can also enjoy.

Kidney's improved but still feel a little sickly. Uh ... copious amounts of blood in your urine is normal after kidney stones, right?

I. Hate. Sauerkraut!

I can't stop thinking about how much I want a 2600 heavy sixer. I don't "NEED" it and I can't afford it, but I'm still tempted to just sell a bunch of the stuff I have around the house so I can get one.

Dave Mustaine was a member of Metallica for less than two years, from 1981 to 1983, before being dismissed and replaced by Kirk Hammett.

eBay sellers are so dumb. I offered $12.00 for a thing that is $14.99. It was automatically rejected. WHY BOTHER MAKING IT AN OR BEST OFFER THING IF YOU REJECT ONE THAT'S ONLY $3 BELOW YOUR ASKING PRICE?!

I'm wondering on how to subscribe to AtariAge

How can Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2 be so awesome and B.H. Cop 3 is a big giant smelly turd?

Is it really only worth $9? http://atariage.com/forums/topic/270597-sega-genesis-32x-cables-power-adapters-and-games/

I can't believe I waited this long to play Rayman: Raving Rabbids! I've never been much for minigame compilations but this one is fantastic, in the most bizarre and ridiculous kind of way. It's a happy game!

Luke should have just killed the Wampa and spent the night in that cave instead of blindly walking out into freezing temperatures. What a dumbass

anyone know where to find a decent price on an Odyssey2 Voice Module?

If you put an Intellivision game on a black and white TV, would it explode or something? Why say for color TVs only?

All hail the mighty 1200XL!

Well, thanks for nothing Disney. http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/04/26/lucasfilm-boss-no-plans-to-restore-original-version-of-the-first-star-wars-trilogy

I know what an Iron Maiden is, but just can't figure out what is a Judas Priest

Its sad that Paramount stopped making post-TOS Star Trek movies after "Nemesis"! They could have made a Star Trek Voyager film!

I went to replace the household's old broken Xbox 360 with a PS3 this week and was rather shocked when the game store sales rep informed me that most PS3 games can't be played off the disc and that the discs are just used to install games to the hard drive like on a computer. As you might have guessed I left without purchasing a PS3.
-
While that's true for PS4 games, I don't think that's true for most PS3 games. Yeah, they do often have patches and user data that are stored to the drive, but most games do play off the disk where most of the game data is stored. Remember that the system launched with 20GB and 60GB drives... hardly enough to fully install more than a game or two. Long-time happy PS3 owner here.

Not wanting to pay royalties to any of the Star Wars EU authors or artists and thin-skin toward certain topics and/or phrases that the EU contained are two likely motivations behind Kathleen's choosing to completely throw away the Franchise's EU. Just my cents.
-
Why would they keep the Legends material in print if it was just a royalties issue? I have tons of that stuff and I'm sorry to see it de-canonized, but it still seems clear to me the reason it was done was simply to wipe the slate for the writers of the new movies so they could tell new stories that didn't conflict with the old ones.

I just tried River Raid on the Atari 5200 and it was really awesome, though one thing I always found funny in River Raid is that the helicopters seem to bounce back and forth in the tight valleys and it always seemed hilarious to me.
-
Just finished cleaning a batch of 5200 cartridges from eBay. They're mostly commons, but they're all great games, and they all work! (Not that I was worried; Atari's 5200 carts are practically indestructible.)

No Battlezone in "Atari Vault"?! http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/03/22/atari-vault-reveals-100-game-collection

Dang, Colecovision is expensive to collect for. Beyond the ultra-commons loose carts seem to average $15-20 and up.
