  1. I don't know if you have different 800 Xl's boxes but here are mine : If you look at the bottom one, you'll notice that some NTCS boxes where used by Atari in Europe to embed some SECAM motherboard... I hope these pictures will help you to easily recognize what you have... Regards.
  2. Added, thanks. (strange number too: 1 more number than the other "7YJHA3)...
  3. Hum...What do you mean exactly by "converted to PAL" ?
  4. Hum...Strange because all the "83AHA" we have are PAL...
  5. Ok guys, you're really lazy Just found this 800XL on ebay (PAL): Firts Post updated
  6. Well...To be honest: When i was young (a looong time ago) : Never (or at least without cheating)
  7. Download µTorrent then try to google for "Atari - Good Sets (2600, 5200, 7800, Jaguar, Lynx) (Torrentzipped)" and "TOSEC (14-03-2007) Atari others" PM me if you need a good forum for this kind of stuff (including mame full set and so on).
  8. Wow ! Pretty clean job, the quality is really better ! I'm dying to see it in within the game !
  9. Hi, i made this map 10 years ago, it's not perfect but i hope it will be usefull for someone. I spent hours on this game when i was a kid. I remember that i tried to print (!) the hexa content of the floppy on my 1020 printer to guess the codes
  10. Hum...Maybe with a Text-To-Speech like this one: http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php Or with SAM maybe (so that we'll stay in the Atari world) ?
  11. Thanks Rybag ! I feel like I'm 16 year old...again ! Any volunteer to add the original English voices to the floppy release ?
  12. B.T.W., as far as i can remember, i had a talking ("Prepare to qualify") version when i was young... But i can't find it anywhere... Does it really exists or is it my memory ?
  13. From FAQs The following are reported as incompatible with models other than the original Atari 400/800. Many can nevertheless be made to run on XL/XE's if you use a translator to run the original 400/800 OS on your XL/XE. Wow! RTFM in my face, ouch Ok thanks Philsan , i'll try to run some of them on my strange XL... Ps: And of course it's Catherine Zeta-Jones, if you need a zoom here it is: http://blog.mesanniv.com/photos-anniversai...zeta-jones2.jpg And JayoK, here the picture taken from the right side:
  14. So i can have a 128k 400/800 ? Hum...Interesting so it could be a backward compatibility...upgrade ? Wow...Amazing... How can i be sure of that ? I didn't knew that some software/cartdridge 400/800 were not compatible with XL/XE. Do you have some programs in mind that runs only on 400/800 ? If i have a look in the Tosec list (for example) i see nothing specific to the 400/800. Thanks. Marsup
  15. Ok, i've plugged a screen to the 600xl (PAL). The blue switch seems to simulate a "press Option" at start. The 4 other have no effect if i use them one by one. But : If they are all (the 4 first switches) turned "on", i have a strange behavior: No "ready" message. No basic instructions. But i'm able to write what i want on the blue screen (i.e. "AZEAZEAZFDGDFGK" then "return" does not reply "error" and any valid basic instruction is not executed). Just as if basic was disabled... What's the interest, i don't know... and why 4 switches for that...it's a mystery... I'll open it again and take a picture to answer to JayoK...
  16. Hello all, Thanks for you replies, i've updated the first post. Could someone post a picture of the rear of your pal/ntcs/secam XL just to help the others to recognise their Atari standards ? I'll add your pictures to the first post. regards, Marsup.
  17. If you need to test your RAM, try "XRAM 0.21.0 (eXtended RAM test 0.21.0)" here: http://satantronic.atari.sk/?str=xe_utils
  18. Hi all, I bought this modified (but working) 600XL and i need your help to identify the components...Maybe they are common or maybe they are rare...I don't know... As you can see, i have 5 switches on the top of the box but i don't know how to use them...Any Idea ? ??? It looks like a memory expansion...Maybe 12x8k ? What do you think is the total amount of RAM ? If you need more details, let me know... Thanks for your help
  19. Hi, I'm trying to find if there is a link between the serial numbers and the Secam/NTSC/PAL standards. That could be useful for example when you buy a 800 XL on ebay, just to be sure you're buying what you're looking for. Some of them comes from a french website 800XL NTSC 7YJ HA 3647524 - (Atari/Warner made in Hong-Kong) - hunmanik 7YJ HA 4029134 7YJ HA 97921 144 - (Atari/Warner made in Hong Kong) - Christophero Sly 72RHA 008718 (114) - (Atari/Warner made in Taiwan) - hunmanik 72RHA 085837 (224) - (Atari/Warner made in Taiwan) - hunmanik 72RHA 076908 (D-344) - (made in Taiwan) - Sikor 72RHA 213491 (D-464) - (Atari made in Taiwan) - Marsupilami 83AHA 01864 (473) - (made in Hong Kong) - a8isa1 83AHA 17336 (503) - (made in Hong Kong) - Athleos SECAM 84 ATS 04006 (S 125) - www.atarimania.com 84 ATS 12580 (S 464) - Marsupilami 84 ATS 18088 (S 454) 84 ATS 24588 (S 454) - Marsupilami 84 ATS 25600 (S 454) 84 ATS 25872 (S 454) 84 ATS 32524 (S 035) - Marsupilami 84 ATS 34507 (? ???) - atari-passion 84 ATS 40006 (? ???) 84 ATS 48211 (S 155) PAL 83AHA 34103 513 (PAL to be confirmed) - bf2k+ 83AHA 11592 493 (made in hongkong) - "converted to PAL" - sup8pdct 83AHU 21851 164 83AHP 11367 (084) - (made in HongKong) - sup8pdct 83AHP 13572 (084) - (made in Hong Kong) - sup8pdct 83AHP 13877 (084) - (Atari/Warner made in Hong Kong) - pepax 83AHP 13911 (084) - (Atari/Warner made in Hong Kong) - Rybags ??????
