  1. I've been peeking in every once in a while over the last decade to see if any progress has happened with this game. I hope you continue with development at some point, but I do understand how life happens and interests shift over time.
  2. Thanks, but I was thinking more of the classical "demo" that includes music, visual effects and a text scroller. Maybe I'll just have to try and make one in BASIC myself.
  3. I play around in BASIC a lot. I enjoy the challenge of making fast / small / efficient code with it. So I was wondering, is or was there ever a demoscene for BASIC? Or is that more of an ASM only type if thing?
  4. Hey, I just re-read through this entire topic and noticed that I had never suggested two amazing hidden gems on the gameboy: Momotaro Dengeki and Momotaro Dengeki 2 Also if you haven't played it yet, you need to give Cavenoire a try.
  5. I really like programming in MSX BASIC... But only in 80 columns, which means you'd have to use an MSX2 which is rather pricey.
  6. SnapJack. I love this game, but no home ports. Also, Super Pac-Man has come up in this thread multiple times, but no one ever mentioned the Gameboy Color version included in Ms. Pac-Man Special Edition. Just FYI.
  7. Am I watching the beginnings of a new "knight rider 2600" in this thread?
  8. I wouldn't say that retro games are "better" than new stuff... But they are quite different. Mostly, I appreciate the pick up and play simplicity and how the earlier games tended to be more experimental in nature.
  9. Open to all 8-bit computers, runs until March 25th. BASIC 10-LINER COMPETITION I already entered (Busy Bee for MSX)
  10. Here's a few Super Famicom games I like: If you like Columns, Dossun! Ganseki Battle is a good puzzle game. Nichibutsu Arcade Classics is a neat little compilation too. And if you're willing to buy/downoad a translation, Ganpuru Gunman's Proof is a fun, yet rather short and easy Zelda/Ikari Warriors hybrid.
  11. another one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165895624257
  12. The arcade game Cheyenne by Exidy featured a gang you needed to take down called the Apache Braves, which of course were all native american
  13. It is a good port, but feels a bit wrong to me by how the apple pushing works in the gameboy version. In the arcade it's easy to push an apple halfway into a tunnel to block enemies, but in the gameboy version, Mr. Do! Kind of auto-pushes them, making it hard (but not impossible) to block a tunnel in the same way.
  14. Based on the title, "Indian no bouken" on the MSX might qualify for this list, but the only thing even remotely native american about the player or anything else in the game would be the feather in his hat. ...unless the boomerang qualifies? https://www.generation-msx.nl/software/hudson-soft/indian-no-bouken/release/101/
  15. Gun.Smoke for Arcade/NES had a lot of native american enemies. Also, there was a French gameboy game "Un Indien Dans La Ville" based on a movie which was remade in the US as Jungle 2 Jungle with tim allen and martin short
  16. Don't forget general's retreat / westward ho, the reversed scenario of custer's revenge. https://atariage.com/software_page.php?SoftwareLabelID=1630
  17. One of my favorite bosses in the monsterworld series: Ice Bomber (the native american snowman chief boss... Seriously WTF?) https://wonderboy.fandom.com/wiki/Ice_Bomber
  18. Also, Aztec Adventure on the SMS. Originally released in Japan as Nazca 88 (which is a more accurate name for the game)
  19. I don't know why exactly Shamus was published on GBC... But I do know that Katherine Mataga (formerly William Mataga), the original creator of the game was programming GBC and GBA games for Digital Eclipse / Backbone entertainment at the time. I worked with her on several games for them.
  20. They might be thinking of Lock 'n Chase? It has a little ball looking player with big feet...
