Excellent , I Enjoy reading all these accounts of the older games / programmers and such . I always wondered if there was any truth the rumor of a large amount of the memory being used on the opening sequence picture and music ? Anyway , enjoyed it !

Hello, Thanks for the input. I have the Basic lists of what I have as far as Carts by sytem , Systems , Boxed games etc. in Game Collector . I do need photos of things The lists are basic with carts mostly listing color , pic or text ...... I could see the detailed description for the higher rarity ones , but 350 loose 2600 carts alone would be a whole new career for this Old Retired Guy ha ha Can I interest you in 5 or 6 Space Invaders..... Combats ??? Thanks again, Tom

Thanks for the replies. I don't know if it is worth the time or money to repair. It has no audio as well with the Coleco carts. I guess I will leave it on the shelf for now as I am much more a collector than a player of these classic systems. (although I always prefer a working system). It was interesting to find out the only thing the unit is used for with the 2600 adapter is for the RF pass through. Thanks again, Tom

Hello, I was recently going thru my collections (considering a possible sale) and came across a problem I had forgotten about. The Colecovision System I have plays the Atari 2600 games with the adapter fine but for regular Coleco games only gets a blank screen ??? I know very little about these andwas curious if this is a common problem and if it is a minor problem or a Major Disaster !! Thanks, Tom

Thanks again to everyone who sent a PM and to all who stopped to look and offer comments and advice. For a variety of reasons , it looks like it's not going to be in the cards to get rid of the collection at this time. Sorry if anyone feels I wasted there time , that was not my intention. Thanks, The OLD GUY

I sent you a PM

Thanks to those who sent replies in PMs .I did not post any lists here because It would have ended up in PMs anyway. Thanks to anyone who even just took the time to take a quick look. For now the collection sits , as it always has. If anyone does want any other info , feel free to send a PM. Thanks and see you all in the forums

actually it's a click to export to text then attach the files....copy and paste gets other crap from program

I have received a couple of replies in private messages and will answer there also. I have lists by groups .... loose 2600 carts , supercharger tapes , double enders , 5200 carts , 7800 carts , etc in Game Collector that I can export/send as plain text files........ this may be too much work for an Old Retired Guy

I realize now the " Real Collector " statement may be taken the wrong way by some , all I meant is that is the reason I figured I would feel it out here on Atari Age where the collectors are and not just list it on an auction site or classified . Hope this makes it a little clearer. Like I said just wanted to feel it out. I think this may turn out to be too complicated to do. We shall see !

It's been quite a while since I ( yes it's the OLD GUY and no I am not DEAD ha ha ) have been on and quite a while since I have been able to do anything with my collection. This brings me to my point. Due to several factors , which I will not bore you with , I am considering selling pretty much my whole Vintage Collection and would just keep a Basic sytem and some all time common favorites. It is 95% Atari 2600 . I was trying to come up with ideas and would appreciate any suggestions. I have a few (old) pictures of it on here and can take a more as needed , and can print a list ( I use an older version of Game Collector to keep track ). If I do sell it , I am looking to keep it simple , and would prefer it goes to REAL Atari 2600 Collectors if possible. I figured I would feel it out around here first. I did send this just to Abert first , but figured I would post it here also. Thanks for any help or suggestions, Tom C. (shquata)

Hello and thanks for the input, I was only half serious about my eyes and this is me looking at the actual units , not a picture (damn , that would have been too easy !!!) . The top half is indeed curved but so is the bottom. There is nothing blocking it from sitting flush. When I place a straightedge on both , there is a curve on each. The bottom case is not warped as it sits flush on the shelf. The Sears unit bottom is Straight....I know I am probably spending way too much time on this , and most of the folks on here are having a good laugh , but all I can say is , one is curved and the other is not. So , thanks again for the input , if I missed something that everyone else knows then please , continue to have a good laugh on me , and if I have room I will try to bring both units to LasVegas so I can get some witnesses that this thing is curved !!!!!!..... ahhhh , I feel better now., but don't get me wrong , I still plan to Obsess about this for a long time ..... Thanks guys, The Old Guy

Ok , so I am just looking at some of my Atari stuff and I notice that the Atari Light Sixer and Sears Light Sixer appear to have a slightly different shape when I look at them head on. It looks like the Atari unit has a slight curve to the bottom front . Not as much as the Heavy , but a slight curve , while the Sears unit is Straight across like all the 4 switch units. Are they different , and yes it only took me 30+ years to either notice it or for my eyes to go !!! or did some previous owner switch a Faceplate on one of these ? The Old Guy

If someone posts a recording of the modem dialing, I can tell you what numbers it dials. I have a pretty good ear for those tones. I used to amaze my friends by [usually] accurately telling what number was being punched on a touch-tone phone. It's been a while, so I'd probably have to enlist the help of Cool Edit to extend the tones, but I'm confident I can do it. Just a thought. -tet I'm sure that would not be needed (It would be cool to see though!). I would bet it is pulse dialing, just count the clicks. If not, I'm sure there MUST be something on the web to detect the tones. As a side note, I was digging around my garage Saturday looking for something, and found a dirty, torn piece of paper on a shelf. I picked it up and it is my registration paper for the gameline I had! It has the serial number written on it. There is a small change I have pieces of it buried in the bottom of some box of junk, I would like to find out if I still have it. Little to no knowledge about all the electronics , but I do think it tries to dial digitaly the first time and if it sits a minute or 2 (or maybe 3 ? ) without any switches or anything else being touched , the attemps after that are pulse dialing So much for my 2 cents The Old Guy

That is awesome, 57, anybody beat that? I am 40 and probably fairly close to the mean for this site, but I love to see the young ones participate in the golden years of gaming. I agree. These young Fans will keep this going. I get a kick out of it when I hear they are still interested in Atari. Even if it starts out for some as a joke or a casual checking it out , there always seem to be new fans and new collectors. Look , there is no way around it. no matter if it's 10...20 50 years from now , you can not change the "when it came" date. That's why classic gaming will have many different reference points to different generations , but in the end the first ones will ALWAYS be the first ones. Now pass me my Geritol and help me down from this Soap Box ! The Old Guy

Well I am sure nobody will care , but in 77 when the VCS came out I was already old....25. I will be 57 later this year.
