Atari CX-2000 Not Gauranteed! Only $5000!
r_type2600 replied to ninermaniac's topic in Auction Central
Nope. Wonder did not bid on eiether auction So Wonder was not the backup bidder on the 2000 either? Hmm interesting. Wasn't it the same (on both auctions) who also bought your System X proto on CTCW ? -

Hmm, if I recall correctly it went for $2200 last autumn (incl. 2 lab loaners). Was set up as a regular auction but then ended as a BIN within a few hours... Some smart wiz got it, I believe (well done ) -
Option #1 for me please - thanks!

Please add me to the list - thanks!

Eurocon 2008 Karlsruhe/GERMANY - PICS ADDED!

Hi Jon and looking forward to see you later this year Dates have been fixed: weekend of 24-25 October (+ preceding Friday activities of course ) Still a small question mark regarding the location, but that should be sorted out in the next couple of days - official announcement to follow shortly... I could do that, but I cannot imagine how to enocde the two scores. Maybe I could do some PF scoring, but I haven't found a good way here too. What about color coding the paddles this way: both start all green. With every passing ball the losing player's paddle top and lowest lines turn red (he starts "burning"), and so forth, progressing towards the center of the paddle, till one paddle has completely turned red = game over. That should give an intuitive visual gauge of the game's progress and both players performance...

Thanks for the link, didn't know much about that "Grauzone" singer. The song is pretty avantgarde for the time, but I don't think it aged that well.... And the singer seems to have gone through a funny metamorphosis in latter years - looks like he was trying hard to copy Michael Bolton (ok, that was in the 90's ) Here's a song that kept all his vibe: Fels in der Brandung And here's another timeless one from a badly missed poet genius, written in 92' : Like most of his texts and interpretations, it works on several layers and hits the nail on the head... Little known gem, but has generated quite a few cover versions: Unknown cover artist (Lost)

Wow, you really got a soft spot for obscure, long-forgotten musicians I remember him, though not that song. Looks to be Wild, Wild, Wild . Actually he is extremely talented (and appears to have built up a successful existence judging from his website), but failed to achieve popularity due to his over-the-top vanity... btw, here are the translated lyrics for Kamchatka

Didn't realize at first that's the band's real name ! On hindsight, quite fitting for a 80's glamour-punk group Talking about Russian music... Tuned in onto a report on Kamchatka on ZDF-doku the other day - and they were playing a catchy song in the background all the time. Had to find out and it turned out to be an '84 cult Russian song from the good old cold war days Very peculiar song, has a bit of Kraftwerk, Major Tom and "Eisbaer" feeling to it Love it - listening to it is like a time voyage, even though the singer was from the other side of the curtain and I only heard it for the first time a week ago: Kamchatka

Yeah, they've got good beer in Kapfenberg, I heard. No way to survive in that wilderness otherwise... -

Got to give my vote to the "I, Me and Myself" guy = Iwan -
How do you manage to regularly churn out such simplistic yet terribly addicting games ?!? And again - like most of your games, this one is begging for two versions - a minimalistic and a full-blown arcade adventure... Hail to the king of "community projects" ! A couple of suggestions right away: - add a bonus object. A flower (rose/ tulip/ ederweiss... whatever. would be nice to have it bi-colored) on top of a block. Nothing lost if it's missed, but bonus points for getting it. Adds a tactical element to the gameplay. The type/color of flower could change with progressing levels to add variety and eye-candy... - could you make the bottom of the blocks triangular to look like spikes or better "thorns" (to keep in the mood of the game)? - building on that, the top of the blocks could then become safe, and running over them would change their color. A full re-colored (horizontal) set could then net more bonus points...

Simmering gegen Kapfenberg - das nenn' ich Brutalität! (yeah, Travnicek ist mittlerweile nach Kapfenberg übersiedelt) Woher wusstest Du, dass ich im 11. Wiener Bezirk wohne?
-
Now, that's a word! It will be hosted in Kapfenberg then, Dieter's home turf!
-
Very cool labels across the board, my 3 favorites: Dan Monceaux #1 (clever composition, simplistic but nicely captures the essence of the game) Ivan Machado #1 (very elegant spaceship design) Nathan Strum #12 (the usual suspect strikes again! this one has both - convincing composition and elaborate graphics)

Gerüchteweise soll Euer Ex. schon unsere Ex. (G(r )usi und Pater Willi) zwecks Karriereneustart kontaktiert haben

Lead and its music go together like Sergio Leone movies with Ennio Morricone orchestration. Nuff' said. Basta!
