  1. Well, my feet still hurt, dagnabit! But before I drive back to the convention center to relieve the security guy and get the TV rentals squared away at 9am, I wanted to take a moment to thank all the AtariAge cast and crew who support PhillyClassic directly, indirectly, and otherwise through an amazing lineup of things to buy, things to play, and people to connect. Albert always works like a madman [and ends up taking only his best friends down with him] into cart-production hell and the AtariAge sweatshop that has been known to travel from hotel to hotel across the nation, leaving only bits of solder and foamcore and label cuttings as their distinctive calling card. Thank you guys so much for your work, your generosity of time and talent, and your support before, during, and after our event. And look for PRON 2.0 debuting this summer at AGE2. I'll be there.
  2. Yo peeps: Among other skills, Mr. Vendel is good at estimating bodies in a large, sweaty room. The wristband count was 2584 -- including all vendors, exhibitors, and staff of which there were approximately 200 (based on VIP badges we had made up, and of course, some people did not get a VIP badge because we ran out!)
  3. Yup. That was it. Free papers. People LOVED that.
  4. Hi y'all: Yes, PC5 tableholder set-up is Friday starting at around 1pm. And we are NOT open to the public (which includes advance TICKETholders) at all on Friday. The only folks allowed into PC5 on Friday will be tableholders and volunteers. And we could use some able-bodied volunteers. 'Cuz I guess there could conceivably be some early-bird trading and rarities and game playing and new releases and nudity on Friday. Hint, hint. OK, well... not the nudity. But the rest of it is a pretty darn good reason to donate some of your time and energy volunteering with us Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Also, please remember to use your credit card to secure your hotel reservations and guarantee your rooms! -- David
  5. I have a confession here: I have no idea what the object of the Pitfall games even is... I spent about 7 min. running around the game once, put the game down, and said "Next!!!!" Never liked it, never "got" it. Ah, well...
  6. Cassidy and Nicole: You people ROCK... and I toldja before: the green guy is not only welcome, it's a FIXTURE with it's own parking space on the floorplan for Pete's sakes!
  7. I gotta weigh in on this... I bought a 5200 [2 actually: 2-port and a 4-port]. Then, like a friggin' idiot, I sold my trusty 800XL when I thought my collection was getting a little outta hand. Well, needless to say, I had a boatload of XL carts, and they stayed put with me. Why? Because I never shoulda sold the 800XL!!! So, I hop on eBay a little bit later, and pick up a nice XEGS. I liked the 800XL better because of the top-load cart slot, but the XEGS gets the job done, and reminds me of my old 130XE [also sold previously]. Do I ever play either of my 52's? Nope. Do I have brand new working controllers? Yup. Do I have the Masterplay joystick adapter? Yup. Do I have Sean's new on-screen menu version of the 5200 multicart? Yup. What the hell is wrong with me? Guess I'm a dyed-in-the-wool A8 guy -- it was my first home computer. What can I say?
  8. Aha!!! So... they've discovered our diabolical plan to greatly limit the number of people that can buy tickets, thus ensuring plenty of open arcade machines for the staff to play at their leisure.... bwa ha ha ha!!!! ...or... D'OH!!!!!!!!! Paypal buttons should be working very soon for more than 1 ticket per transaction... I fixed the goof and sent new code to Mark for upload. Sorry for the inconvenience...
  9. I'd love to see the 2600 version of: 1. Wild Western from TAITO 2. [non-arcade] Mattel football handheld game for the 2600... those red blips rule... and in case you miss those old Mattel handhelds, or just want to see something really cool... check THIS out: http://www.peterhirschberg.com/handheld/le...dhead/index.htm
  10. It's only bad if you think it's bad. Ummm. no, wait a sec... It's not bad at all -- it would be worse if you kept it in mothballs like some troll waiting for it to be REALLY valuable "someday" - ick! Play with the toys, play with the toys!!!
  11. As I understand things it does, but ONLY if you have a PS1 memory card. Yes this is a true statement. No baloney there. You're right about that. Correct-a-mundo. I hear ya talkin'. Absolutely, positively, brother!
  12. The site is LIVE!!! Check it out, and feedback welcome! WHO will get PC5 ticket #0001? Who will get table #1? And what about... the chair??????????
  13. Hmmm... this sounds like a very cool idea. But it would take around 6-7 months to put all the pieces together and get it produced... ...and there's nothing happening around that timeframe where a project like this could get a big splashy introduction... ... or lots of sales to interested hardcore Atari gamers... ...so, nahhh... fuggedaboudit!
  14. Verrrry cool, Albert. You've even got that smooth, creamy radio voice. The interview has moved to: http://discover.npr.org/features/feature.j...ml?wfId=1151807
  15. Holy %#$$@ Was that Canadian crack they were smoking, or the good ole USA variety? Ay, Caramba!!
