Just picked up the following for $25
Power Glove CIB: Box is a bit rough on this one, but the instruction manual and glove itself seem pretty good. I don't have a NES system at the moment, but I'll be sure to test it out as soon as I do!
As well as Food Fight and Spider Fighter for the 2600.
There's been piles of 2600 stuff at my local thirft shop lately, and there was a ton of NES stuff there today too. The only consoles were a bunch of PS1's and an N64 though,

Apok911
I'm currently playing Modern Warfare 2, Forza 3, Raiden Fighter Aces, and Battlefield 1943

Just started playing the online recently... and getting my ass handed to me.
Its great fun though, both online and off

It's definately on my list, unfortunately there's a couple of big games coming out that are taking higher precedence. I work at an EB and we've got a few copies (surprisingly), I think I'm the only one working there who actually plays shooters. I do suck pretty bad at them though, I must be a sucker for punishment.

Forza 3 Collectors Edition

They were released on the 26th, we sold out of our whopping shipment of 6 yesterday.

Just started playing Raiden Aces, and its been quite a while since I've played any shooters.
Its kicked my ass but I've been absolutely loving it.
That and Forza 2, though I can't wait to get my hands on Forza 3

Definately pre-oredering Forza 3. I've put alot of hours into Forza 2 and 1.
I've heard that there's a new Xbox 360 wheel to go along with it from a 3rd party which will be similar to the Logitech G50/G70 wheel (clutch pedal with a 6 speed shifter).

I'm looking forward to see if Mag on the PS3 pulls off something I've been wanting to see for quite a while, which is a more realistic military sim. You can actually have rank structures and use strategy to win a battle, not just rambo-ing your way through it all. If Mag does it, it might push me to buy a PS3.

Bioshock, Fallout 3 and the Orange Box might be worth a look for you
I loved Bioshock and I typically don't go for shooters. Had some roleplaying elements to it in regards to character development.

Just finished Bioshock tonight, I know I'm behind the times but I must admit, its a pretty fantastic game.
Now back to Forza 2

I just bought the Konami Classics cartridge instead, includes a decent port I believe... although I only played the actual arcade game a couple of times. Someone else might want to chime in on that fact but if its good it might be a way to play Track & Field a little more "authentically"

^^ Agreed
GTA Chinatown Wars is excellent as well

Why are they putting stickers over the label? Thats insane. With loose carts I put the price sticker on the top of the GBA cart just so it covers the litle grab handle and the bar code on the back. No way to destroy the label and a little Goo-Gone will get rid of any residue. Throwing away boxes? We rarely get them but there are used GBA games in boxes. Who works for these stores?!
-
I actually work at an EB Games and nothing makes me cringe more than putting those stupid stickers on the unsealed boxes. Taking them off is nearly impossible. However, people looking specifically for factory sealed copies are the exception rather then the rule, at least from what I've seen.
As for the demos question, unfortunately no, we do not get to demo new releases. Although I really wish we could because at least then I could provide some credible first hand experience for alot more of the games. Minimum wage does not really allow me to buy up all the new titles.
And the open boxes, yeah that sucks too, but like I said, alot of people couldn't care less about the game being opened. They should be sold at a reduced price, but when people are willing to pay full price well, thats economics for you I guess. I don't agree with it but unfortunately thats the way it is. Usually when someone comes in looking for a sealed copy of a game and we've only got a gutted one I'll phone the other four stores in the city. I'm not sure if other EB's/Gamestop's will do that.

Sorry, the six button one is my preference

Hey,
So I came home after a week vacation and went to turn on my JVC CRT and nothing. It's really strange because there was absolutely no sign it was going bad. Anyway, its time to upgrade to a new flat screen I think and I've been out looking at a couple. I don't need, nor do I have the room or funds for a large TV so I'm looking for something between 22 and 32 inches. However, the question is now as to whether I get a TV or an LCD computer monitor.
I'm leaning more to a TV since I'll need a co-axel input to hook up my 2600/Genesis etc and an HDMI for my Xbox 360. I'd also like to hook up my Macbook to whatever I buy. Cable is the least of my concerns, I do have a digital cable box but it is not used all that much. I have a 19 inch CRT in my bedroom which could be used primarily for retro-gaming as well.
What are you guys using?

I'd say just get the DS Lite. Gamestop is selling refurbished Lites for $109.
To be honest, I'd recommend going for a newer one. Alot of the DSlites I see (I work at an EB) look like they've been through hell and back.
I much prefer the DSi so long as you don't need the GBA slot. Feels like its built better, but since you've already got a flash cart I'd get a new DSlite or hope you can find a refurb in decent shape.

Sorry about that!

Was playing some Punisher on my Genesis for study breaks. Not a bad game for getting some frustration out!

What is your rarest/most valuable NON-2600 game?
