Wow that's a typical fanboyant rant. I'm sorry, but just because *you* don't like the games on the PS3 (I have no idea why..90% of the games on both systems are multiplatform) doesn't mean that there aren't as many good games. I have 18 games for my ps3, i had 8 for my 360.... each system right now I have all the games I'm interested in for the console... so obviously it comes down to taste, no? Lastly, just because the wii hasn't had a AAA game come out since Mario Kart Wii, doesn't mean there's no games for it. You can bash the system all you want (and I do too, come ON I want a new release already) but at the end of the day, I have 35 games for that system. The only systems that top that number are my Saturn, Dreamcast, and Atari. They must have done something right.

That's crap. With a modern console all of those things are issues. The PS2, XBox, PS3, and XBox 360 all required that you keep the unit unobstructed and clean. The same thing with most DVD players, stereo receivers, amplifiers, and especially computers. The 360 failure rate may be high but the things listed will make most high-end modern electronics run improperly or fail. Uh, no offense, but atarian63 is right. While it's a good idea to have what that list says, I've had many systems.. including the ones you listed, in the not-the-most-ideal spots and never had a problem. Heck, when i was a kid, we used to have the snes on the carpet during sleep overs so we could change the game without getting up (yea.. i know, bad idea). What I'm trying to say is, you can call this whatever you want.. dvd player, entertainment system........at the end of the day it's a toy, and it needs to be tested like one. Most companies do, which is why those consoles last under extreme environments. Lastly, the failure rate IS too high. There are 5 co-workers who have 360s in my department (a large majority), and each and every one of them has turned it in for failure. Heck, the guy who sits across from me just sent his in for the 4th time now. He's the biggest xbox fanboy you ever did see, and even he's annoyed at this point. My point is, you can have the best customer service in the world, you can have the best games in the world, you can give people exceptional warranties,.. but you cannot ever get rid of the experience of turning in a broken system. I've dealt with it with my DS for instance, and it wasn't fun at all. Waiting to play a game is not acceptable.

They were uber friendly to me.. but I've yet to see results. I asked that my credit card info be removed from my LIVE account, and that my remaining time be credited into a passcode so I can give it to my co-worker. They called me 2 weeks ago to say that the credit card info was removed, but the passcode hadn't been made yet.. though I should receive an email by the next day. Yea.. no email. When I call they tell me it will be in my inbox the next day. It's better than xbox support was originally.. they, and sony, used to be very very rude on the phone and practically didn't bend a finger to help you. I've noticed major improvement over the two. I guess they finally heard of Nintendo's support and thought it was a good idea. It was actually kinda cute when I asked to get this done with MS. The guy (and subsequently the girl after him) asked why I was needing this done. I told him/her that I was selling it and getting a PS3 instead. I was shocked with both of their reactions.. it was like i told them I wanted a divorce or something. I was actually impressed they seemed to care so much. But yea...now for that passcode....

Well it's about time you upgraded anyway . Look at it as a blessing

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings trailer
DaytonaUSA replied to vdub_bobby's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
Wait.. it says playstation.. does that mean ps2 or ps3? And a really high quality video. Kinda makes me wish they didn't cancel the hd versions. I think this game would definitely work well for the wii though, if they do it right. -
That it is, but PG2 is an Xbox game, not a 360 game. Unless he was one of the 5 people who actually use the BC on the 360, and since the post wasn't made in the 360 forum. One might assume he was talking about his Xbox. I actually used my 360 all the time to play battlefront 2, so I guess I didn't find that out of the ordinary. For his sake, I hope it's a regular xbox.. much much cheaper to replace!
-
Where does it say his 360 broke down? "dang thing crapped out on me in the middle of project gotham 2.....dangit! " I assumed that meant.. ya know... non-freezing "crapped out". If it's just freezing or w/e, even my new Arcade with the HDMI port in the back froze a few times. Isn't that pretty common for a 360? But hey, at least it didn't scratch the disk like the early models

Nope...the red rings flash. I've had that problem before. Tightened the connection and it was fine. Wow, I'd be happy if that's all it was.. but I'm sure the cord was in all the way. I mean, it kinda snaps in there (it did for mine). Good luck on your repair though either way. I hope this one lasts for ya.

:-/ vid is gone. Is it of the new wii indiana jones game I heard about that replaced the hd versions? -
Of course they did, it's a link to Kotaku. I don't read much from them. Sorry bud, didn't know they were bias. That's more along the lines of what I'd expect to see from Joystiq.

On a slightly related note, has anyone played the EA nascar games as of late? I decided to dload the demo for shits and giggles and I found the cars (from the outside) to be VERY cartoony looking. The textures just didn't look real.. it looked somehow very fake. I seem to remember the ps2 version of nascar to be on the more realistic side than this. Anywho, complaint over.

Someone was basically competing for their pay check. Sometimes you have to play hard ball. If they let 2K keep making games for half price like that, EA might have lost their main income source and the company could have disolved into thin air. When it comes down to your main bread basket, you can't play nice. If I were EA, I would have done the same thing... and I can guarantee you, if 2k had the money to buy the exclusivity, they would have too.
-
Yeah, why don't they discuss new product for the Saturn too. They're only mentioning viable consumer options. Haven't you guys got the memo yet? That would be awesome if they made games for the Saturn again! But yea.... PS3 is doing just fine. It was more of an error of the author of the article than EA themselves making a statement one way or another. But hardi har har, we get your joke. 09 will definitely be interestint though. PS3 has a lot of chances to up it's sales even further with some great exclusives, while the Wii has a chance to make some games to fill it's recent draught as companies are getting burned by high priced HD games not selling as well as they'd like, resulting in loss.

The article mentioned nothing about quality control. And judging by reviews for their latest games, I don't see their quality being in question here at all. check out metacritic's reviews for Dead Space, Madden, and Mirror's Edge. Btw, I found this comment to be kinda funny: "EA's plan also includes focusing more on games for the Nintendo Wii, which has been far outselling rival consoles like Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 and Sony Corp.'s PlayStation 2." .....Playstation 2? Hi, remember us... large shiney box owners...

I keep on getting PMs of people asking if it's available and giving me offers, but then they never answer back haha. Can the parties interested at least contact me back so I can tell people asking about it if it's on hold or not. Thanks!

You have to admit the grainy picture displayed in the article is kinda funny. I know it will look better than that, but it's almost like they did that purposely
-
Agreed. I find it appauling that people are poking fun at EA for losing money. This isn't a game, it's people's lives. I'm sorry, but even the most hated of companies out there I woudln't "wish" for them to do badly. You can't just go and find a new job these days, especially in the video game market. A couple bone heads might head EA.. as do most companies, but it's the hundreds if not thousands of people who work for them that define who the company really is. While Dead Space wasn't my thing, I liked what I played of Mirror's Edge (after a while, kinda got a bit hard for me) and I'd like to see more from EA outside the sports realm. Also, I'm not saying I don't buy Madden.. it's just usually one game per generation. The only ones I've bought were 95 for the snes, 97 for Saturn, 01 for N64, 03 for GC... as soon as I see a version for this gen that I think will be the definitive version, I'll pick it up .
-
Haha yea I hear you, especially in these times. However, if you add up what you spent on your 360, you'd be surprised how "cheap" the PS3 is. It's a great system once you get around to being able to buy it. Sorry to hear about your troubles though.... don't know why people were rude to you posting this.. Maybe it's just it's become such a common issue, people aren't even alarmed by it anymore. I can say for sure though, if something that I paid *that* much money for broke, I'd definitely be mad/sad. I guess most people don't keep systems for much more than 4-5 years, but for collectors, I think owning a 360 in the next 10-15 years will be very hard. Working ones may actually be worth a lot of money by then!

Sigh... I really despise these types of global statements. First off, Madden is not the same game year-over-year, and it really seems the people whom make these statements have never played the game. It's just easy to EA bash, and because they are so big, people feel justified. I find it interesting that there are never any facts to back this up, just the same global statements. It is a game of American football, it's not going to radically change on many levels, because the game of football doesn't change radically year-over-year. Though to say it is the same game every year is simply not fair. --Selgus Wow and here I was defending EA.... I'm sorry, but while the game does change slightly from year to year, it only has a radical difference every 3-4 years or so. If I showed you Madden 06 and Madden 07 in gameplay, you wouldn't say "oh yea, this is 07 for sure!". There's just not that big a difference. And again, I was DEFENDING EA. If you're going to bash people, try reading the comments above who said their sales were dipping because of sports titles. That's not true. EA lost most of it's money because it went out on a limb and made something original. Before you jump down my throat, read my statement in completion. You may find that I'm not talking about of my ars here.

You're probably having problems selling this because people have one of the many iterations of the game. I know the N64 ones are worth what you're asking, but your best bet to get what you're looking for might be a mom and pop shop. Hope that helps bud.

I hear your frustration. While I never got RROD thank god, I *did* get malfunctioning accessories and the poorest excuse for a wifi adapter I've ever seen. I'd like to meet the person who OKed that pos to be sold to the public. Sad thing is, the PS3 isn't that much more really. You shouldn't have to save long. It's a great console, but the frustrations you go through just to play really keep the "i love you" feeling for it at bay.
-
There's a box that's shinier that you should meet.

No offense guys, but they started losing money only when they started creating interesting IPs. If anything, it's kinda sick that we reward them financially for Madden every year for the same game, but when they release Mirror's Edge and Dark Space we spit on them. I hope they DO get money on their new IPs. Them losing money right now is only teaching them to go back to the old days of milking spots franchises.
