  1. So it's that time again, where I collect far more than I need to collect, and it's time to clean house. Below is what is available at this moment, but I'll be adding more later.

    NEW N-Gage Collection SOLD :

Look at the pictures. Was never played. Period. Just took off the protective paper from the battery. Not a scratch on the screen, obviously, as it's brand new. All games are sealed. If you want the system (comes with charger, case, and sim card (not activated) so you can play games, make me an offer. If you want a game, make me an offer. If you want everything, make an offer. I'm not sure how people will want to buy these items, so I leave it up to you. Also, please note, System Rush is for sale as well, but it's not shown in the picture.

Silver GameBoy Light & Games $75 SOLD:

Only roughly 11,000 were made, and it was only sold in Japan for less than a year. Most of these GB Light systems look like a train wreck, and their indigo backlights aren't bright at all. Indigo light works perfectly and is nice and bright, silver finish is in good shape with some moderate wear on the battery cover. Light scratches on the screen that can't be seen during play, even with the light on. Comes with an assortment of games including Pocket Monster Gold, Pocket Monster Silver, Pocket Monster Green, Pocket Monster Card GB, Dragon Quest 1&2, Dragon Quest Monsters, Legend of Zelda, Farm Story (Harvest Moon).

Katana is up on the bay. However, I'm willing to negotiate with my AA peeps if bought here instead of eBay. Use the listing for pictures and description, and PM me here if you're interested!

    Philips N20 Pong System $55:

This is complete, and looks like it's brand new. This pong system is from France, and has a variety of Pong-related sports games included inside the system.

M-Audio USB Producer Mic $10 SOLD:

While not completely "gaming related", if you want to start a Youtube podcast, this is a good, affordable place to start. Drivers are automatically downloaded by Windows. Works great and has a good range for voice. Comes with bag and all cords, attachments and stand that it came with.

    Dreamcast Steering Wheel $25:

This official DC wheel is as good as it gets for the system, and makes games like Sega Rally 2 playable (as the controller settings were deplorable....). Works great with racing games like Daytona USA and Ferrari F-355. Comes with the attached VMU unit.

    Lost World Arcade Unit SOLD:

Local pick up or shipping at your expense. This is going cheap because we're wanting to use the space in the apartment for something else. Worth well more than that. Privately owned most it's life, screen in perfect shape, clean as a whistle inside, and comes with both marquees (yes, even the care cardboard one on top).

    iBuffalo USB SNES Controller $10:

Like new, these things feel and control just like a real pad, and are hard to find. Comes with original box.

Capcom vs SNK 2 EO for Xbox $15:

    Complete, manual and disc inside

    Outrun 2 Xbox $4 SOLD:

    No manual, case and disc

Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast Xbox $2SOLD:

  2. Haha.

Looking into loading games on MCC cards. Not a lot of info, although it's possible. Seems you need to have the appropriate files and folders just so. I'd really like to play Payload and Snake. The rest I can buy "retail".

If you find more info than I do, let me know via PM, Austin. I'll do the same if I figure it out.

  3. What's really weird about Atari Masterpiece is that the first volume has the best games by far, yet isn't worth as much as the second volume. I find the games in the second volume (even the 2600 games that are unlockable) to be nothing much of note.

Is worth on N-Gage games really only down to how late the game was released? I know release quantity makes things rare, but if the game isn't good, why would it matter? Take Sega Rally. It's a freakin' train wreck and make games like Colin Mcrae look like freakin Xbox games by comparison. Yet it commands over $300 on eBay simply because it was released late and in only one territory. WTF?

Yeah, Crash Nitro Kart looks a bit choppy, but I've played it on Android (was equally choppy in its port). I found it enjoyable then, so I think it would still be fun on the N-Gage.

I'll give Roots a looksy. Glad I picked up Puyo Pop :).

    EDIT:

Wait, you said I could put Snakes on a MCC card. Can I put Payload and other hard to find/unreleased games on there?

  4. Oh and yeah. Saw red faction was horrible. Elder scrolls looks....passable, but it is too pricy to try. That kingdom game might have promise. Do you like that one? And there's a couple rpgs on the system, one being a strategy game, that people seem to love. I'm not into games like fore emblem but everyone says its the best game on the system. Figured it's worth trying at least I guess ...

  5. It should still work as a phone, but I'm not really looking to downgrade haha. For games though it'll be fun.

Yeah, I'm definitely aware of the issues you brought up. Lack of music, choppiness, etc. Maybe its the box art, who knows, just want to try it. Thanks for the snakes reference. I love tempest. Speaking of which I really hope the Atari masterpiece game runs well. There's like two reviews out there, which make it sound good, but really no videos. We shall see!

Grimmerati didn't look good, but if it's fun ill give it a shot. I really want monkey ball but held off because it looked very choppy and I was afraid that meant it wouldn't control well. If it controls well though ill buy it. I love pinball, but its over 80 bucks. It really is a shame. I'd love to try it, but I don't see me ever spending that much for ANY pinball game.

System Rsh looks amazing and has great reviews. And yeah, Colon Mcrae ....cant wait to play it! Being the Sega guy I am I so desperately want Sega Rally, but it is just so bad! I know it's rare, but you'd think its suckiness would drive the ridiculous price down.

The rest ill try in time and are pretty cheap. I'll go buy Monkey Ball now. But even if it's choppy you have no idea how much I want kof. Fingers crossed I run across it!

  6. N-Gage era Asphalts were the best. Well, I had the DS version, but same thing. I don't much like the newer ones. Touch screen / gyro controls combined with iffy AI and HUGE reliance on microtransactions just ruin it. That and it feels like there's a new game every 6 months....

Gameloft really has become pretty scummy.

  7. I feel like I've been there done that with nearly every console that interests me. Not to say that I'm bored, I love the plethora of games and systems that I own. But it's hard for me to go into a used game store and be surprised by much these days.

But today that changed. I ended up finding a sealed/new copy of Colin Mcrae Rally 2005 on the N-Gage at one of my local stores today. I know enough about the N-Gage to know it's one of the harder to find titles, but what really got me interested was that I love this series (before it became "Dirt" and subsequently sucked...) and is one of my most prized games on my original Xbox despite the fact it's not rare on that system... it's just so fun.

Rally games are something I grew up with, and after I whipped out my phone and looked at some gameplay footage (extremely good racing game for the N-Gage!) I asked to see the game. It didn't have a price sticker on it, and I asked what it was priced at and the clerk told me it would be $10. I worked him down to $8, and went to my Jeep all excited about my purchase, only shortly thereafter realizing I had nothing to play it on.

So ... I've gone on a bender. I've bought a new N-Gage QD, and several games. These include Sonic N, Pandemonium!, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, System Rush, Atari Masterpieces I, MotoGP, PuyoPop, Tiger Woods, and Fifa 2005.... all new and sealed.

System Rush looks amazing (I love Tron and Wip3out), Pandemonium! was one of my favorite Saturn games, and Atari Masterpieces have such titles as Battlezone and Lunar Lander... two of the best Atari games ever produced!

I can't wait to play the system, and it's fun to be able to get into a system that I know enough about, but never bothered owning. I kinda regret not gobbling up these games at GameStop when the system went under, but most of these games were dirt cheap and I got great deals even on the more expensive ones.

The ones I want the most now are King of Fighters Extreme, Asphalt, Bomberman and Crash Nitro Kart. I hope I'll find copies soon, but until then I really can't wait to play these games.

I'm the type of gamer who thinks early 3D graphics are the best, so a handheld that has this "look" to it, really speaks to me. Oh, and thanks to previous N-Gage posters who helped me with their old posts. Helped me figure out what games to look into for my game tastes.

  8. After years (literally, since it was released) and going back and forth on this system nearly each year, I finally got this today.

Anywho, I've found several titles I wanted, but I have a small few I'm looking for. If anyone can please help me out (if you have dups, or just want to unload your stuff) please PM me.

    King of Fighters Extreme

    Asphalt 1 and 2

    Crash Nitro Kart

    Bomberman

    Worms

And anything cool you'd suggest. I have a refurb system, and several games. Kinda went on an N-Gage bender today, haha.

  9. I used to play Phantasy Star Online 1&2 on the GameCube with my roomates religiously. Other than SW Battlefront 2, I can't think of a single game we played nearly as much.

ANYwho, after not having a Cube for a long time, I now have a spice colored import cube. I have a ton of games, GBA adapter, and have the component cables, and I've been having a blast. One of those games is PSO 1&2.

It's been a bit difficult to figure out everything since the game doesn't have much English. I've been figuring out things as I've gone along. I'm now a level 9 force. I literally have made a cheat sheet of everything I've figured out so far. I've written out the Japanese characters and in English next to it, I've written what the item/technique is.

But I can't figure out everything. And I need some help from someone who has the English copy and could figure out what my items are. I'd do this myself, but this Japanese copy is the only one I own now. I sold my US copy ages ago, or I'd do the comparison myself.

I've devised a system for figuring out items. I use the symbol of the item as a clue. If it's a bottle, then it's a "___fluid". If it's a pill, it's a "____mate". I use the prices in the store to figure out which one is mono, di, and tri. And it's honestly been this process of elimination through symbols, prices and just using items that's gotten me this far.

This is what I've figured out:

    Monomate

    Dimate

    Trimate

    Monofluid

    Difluid

    Trifluid

Moon Atomizer (need to confirm that if you sell this to the trader in the shop, she gives you 62 messeta for this)

    Star Atomizer

    Antidote

    Telepipe

    Trap Vision

    Antiparalysis

Scape doll (Not 100% sure on this. If you sell this to the trader in the shop, does she give you 1250 messeta for this?)

I could use prices for any other items (read: not armor or weapons. Those are self explanatory)

Lastly, I could use some help with techniques. You know the technique chart with the colorful symbols that you can map to the face buttons/ R button? While I know the common ones, I don't know most of the techniques that are just red and blue arrows. That, and I don't know all the items down below.

From top left to bottom right, could someone go over what each of these are in the technique chart?

This really shouldn't be too hard for someone to do, so if anyone could please spare the time to help me out, this is honestly all I need. I can do the quests, as I have Gamefaqs for that. They tell me what each quest is before I head on out. And like I said, everything else is self explanatory, especially since I've played this game so much in the distant past... most has come back to me pretty quickly.

Frankly, I'm honestly really proud I've figured out nearly all there is, haha. I figured playing the import version would be a nightmare. Other than not knowing what a few items are in my inventory, I feel I'd done great!

Thanks for the help in advance!

  10. Who their intended demographic is and who they're targeting specifically can be different. (But I agree that they most likely ARE targetting kids for those games - as I've said, they've been caught doing so explicitly already.) If they actively go advertising/targetting to the 6-16 age group however, it's still grounds for another lawsuit.

Regardless, the only ones to blame for it in the end are the parents who are suppose to be keeping an eye on what their kids play, or at least the ratings.

At times I think the "M" rating is a joke anyway. It means 17+. The next rating is AO. 18+. (Not a lot of growing gets done in that year that really matters as far as video game consumption is concerned.)

I agree. That would be like cigarettes being illegal for 14 year olds, but there's a large target market for 14 year olds so cigarette companies advertise to them. That would be illegal.

Same with this. The game isn't MEANT or RATED to be sold to 6 year olds, so why on earth would that be ok, irregardless of whether or not 6 year olds play the game?

  11. Yeah, I'm surprised that Target was ok with this. Activision... sure. They'd sell their soul for a buck. But Target is in the spotlight, especially since their credit card hacks. It won't take long before the public notices this and it's in the news and they get backlash from it.

At the end of the day, is the thousands of dollars of kids tshirt sales worth the bad press? If I was at Target or Activision, I wouldn't have allowed this to be sold.
