Thank you very much for this thread. It was created more than 10 years ago but I have been playing Wizardry on NES and this facts are very interesting to know. Cheers.

Incredible find !! I loved the video, very emotional and few shaky hands, hahaha, congrats !
-
Very sorry that I took the bait and answered the thread, but I didn't want him reporting my listing on eBay as fake or something. Great to cross words with you, I should come here more often

I don't care if the auctions ends in 5 usd, i will sell the cart, has happened before and I have no problem. The thing that bothers me is that you DEMANDED to change the listing and you don't even know what you are talking about. The real collectors are watching the item, and some others just want to have a R9 o R10 game because its rare and they can sell it for more. I don't care about the price, this find are usually very cheap because I got them many years ago You could have asked nicely and research about the legitimacy in a polite way, but the first thing you did was post my message on a thread in a negative way
-
It went up because of my bid, and if you have ever purchased anything on EBay, you would know that the price is nothing till the end of the auction. Do you believe we are all conspiring to prove you wrong? I mean C'mon dude can't you understand what has been said in this thread? My teenager can comprehend it, why can't you! Really, does saying shit like this make you feel better about yourself. Wow dude! What the fuck is wrong with you? Saying what? You stubborn donkey He's trolling ... I can't think of any other reason to answer like he does He sent 3 messages on eBay and presented himself as an expert collector, demanding that I change the listing to PAL Asterix ...

Is not the same .... but maybe I'm missing something here The image you are referring shows a PAL SILVER GRAY label .... my cart is METALLIC SILVER label. And maybe I'm wrong but the asterisk refers details about the licensing of the Intellectual Property .... just check images of the Rubik's Cube cart that uses an asterisk to refer the message : "*Rubik's Cube ® and trade dress thereof used under license from Ideal Toy Corporation" ... And if you remember, Rubik's Cube was re-labeled as Atari Video Cube, and this was because of licensing issues. Check the scans : http://www.atariage.com/cart_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=419 Also, check the Obelix NTSC cart, check the metallic label http://www.atariage.com/cart_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=1021 Obviously I test every cart before listing it for auction on my regular set-up, where PAL games roll the screen and NTSC don't. I have metallic silver label asterix PAL carts and I know the difference.

Hi, mates !! It's such an honor to be recognized by some of you, thank you very much, I really appreciate the good comments !! I am aware that PAL versions have silver and gray labels, I replied the message of chrislynn5 and sent an image of a silver labeled pal cart with a "P" on the end label. But the picture he talks about shows a cart with gray label. I can do any test you need to show you that this cart is legit saludos !

eskobar has sold a few loose ones he has found in/around Mexico Yes, but he got pretty crappy prices for his as people did not trust that they were NTSC And crappy labels. Some of the them were minty but most were crappy Right now i have one ready for sale and with a label in great condition but the end label is ripped off in half ... it's ntsc Those carts are quite difficult to find loose or CIB EDIT : I hadn't seen the auction ... i sold him that asterix My auctions were pretty low but that one was the highest, it ended on 152.50 on May 21st, 2008 Is this one yours Eskobar? http://cgi.ebay.com/ASTERIX-ATARI-2600-NTSC-VERSION-ULTRA-RARE_W0QQitemZ280429962618QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item414aeda57a What is it with you Mexicans?? Can't you look after your carts??? hehehehe, don't blame us too many cart arrive from north american in poor condition; the biggest problem when those games arrive to Mexico is that 90% of the flea market sellers trash the box and manuals

I am always in contact with him and i just visited him a few weeks ago, great guy

Brand New Music Machine! Let the battle begin!
eskobar replied to ninermaniac's topic in Auction Central
Even if the seller was the stupidest person in the galaxy, the $5,000 + cost should ring a bell inside his/her head I wanted to place a bid but i out of that league ... -
Boxed Atlantis II ended early?
eskobar replied to holygrailvideogames.com's topic in Auction Central
I hate when things like this happens to us .... we get all greedy, nervous and furious when an item like this comes out; that why i always try to keep gaming with the new stuff to keep myself mentally "sane". Congrats to the buyer -
Blocked for making a 'best offer' on eBay
eskobar replied to the.golden.ax's topic in Auction Central
When i put the BEST OFFER option i can expect an offer as low as .01 for my item, sometimes people play stupid games, but an offer that is around the 50% of the regular prices is a serious offer. I think than eBay has too many shitty seller today -
I have sold a CIB one for 301 on July 9th http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150356435072&ssPageName=ADME:L:EOISSA:US:1123 It was in good condition

July: an interesting month for rares getting auctioned
eskobar replied to Zwackery's topic in Auction Central
It was a good month, i got many of those (Glib, Quadrun, WaterWorld, CrazyClimber, Gravitar) from a guy that needed the money (he actually re-purchased the gravitar). I was fortunate enough that those games are in the best hands Hope to get more interesting games soon, Atari is more scarce every day ... -
Mike, you got me at : "Hello Chuckwagon Community –" I will list a few atari games this month to see how it works ... i have paid more than 300 usd on fees this year on eBay, i am not complaining because the games ended at very high prices, but i think that supporting the chuckwagon can make a difference in both sites. Thanks for the continued support of the site

PROOF POSITIVE WHY NOT NEGGING BUYERS IS A GOOD IDEA
eskobar replied to JohnnyBlaze's topic in Auction Central
I am not 100% in favor of that policy ... there are many persons that abuse of this new policy and now its usual to have many more buyers that don't pay. I know that you can do some stuff to recover the fees but you the real problem is when people see any auctioned product re-listed, the confidence is much less. Even with many cases of NP bidders, the policy works great -
I just don't understand when you say : "stuff like that is pulled" ..... The guy is not my friend, i didn't suggest anything when he listed the games, i didn't bid on any of his auctions. He talked to me in a serious way, desperate and needed the money right now. I did wrong paying what he asked ?.... I could have accepted the 1,500 usd or the 1,300 offer, BUT MY WEDDING IS TOMORROW and i BARELY covered the expenses of the event. This was an opportunity to help some guy, make a few bucks to buy more stuff AND help a fellow collector to get a insanely rare game at a good price. In this forums there has been debates over the low prices that some of my auctions for Atari games have reached, and too many people is grateful that i always have respected the final price, no matter if its very low. I have sold NTSC Asterix and Quadruns as low as 66 usd and 89 usd both in great condition and i didn't care about it. An auction is like a coin flip, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. If you don't want to bid on the games, fine; but those who are interested, good luck; you know that you will get some very rare items, accurately described and pictured at a good or bargain price.
-
Totally agree, Mate Sometimes collecting get out of proportion ... Good Luck and i hope you can get the ones you need, as always, no reserve and no BS CC is already listed and i will list in a few minutes CIB obelix and Sealed Tax Avoiders ....
-
I know many collectors and gamers on mi city because my store and online selling accounts. I sold him a few sealed games, including a quadrun in 505 usd. He is not my friend but he sometimes visits me to swap games or check my collection. Very sorry to read about your daughter, he was quite desperate to get the money. Insurance programs are barely used on Mexico and they can be very helpful in situations like that I hope that i don't have too much trouble when the time comes for my wife and i to have a child

I always have respected your opinion but you wrote : "This whole thing stinks worse then a can of open sardines in 100 degree sun. I wouldn't buy those games from Eskobar if they were the last ones I needed, which they probably are. And yes I was interested at one point." Why not only stay away from the auctions and everybody happy, no need to call my name. And about the guy "getting what he wanted" .. are you sure ? .. if you check earlier threads that talked about that person, you can literally confirm the origin of the games. He paid over 2,000 for them ... he needed the money and wanted 3,000 ... he shilled and he screwed himself and got no more options than me, he needed the money in that moment to pay for the childbirth costs of his first son. He needed the money so desperately that he got half what he paid for them. In fact i told him : "i feel bad for not being able to buy your games at a very low price" and he replied "don't worry, business are business; after this i will recover them" Some games were bought on atari2600.com and the still have the original codes on the poly bag.

My mistake Ms. i am used to the 99.99% guys 0.01% girls in internet forums ... also i am a bit goofy. I do agree that buying this lot or be associated with this guy is not the best to build positive reputation, but i frankly prefer actions than words, that's why i put a link to my feedback on my eBay account. But your conspiracy theories are hurting my reputation 100000% more than knowing the guy and you don't even have dealt with me ... that was disrespectful. At that price, even you would bought the lot. Besides being a collector i fund my vice selling games, this is my account in MERCADO LIBRE MEXICO, something like eBay : http://www.mercadolibre.com.mx/jm/profile?id=10998143 I am not desperate for money or to gain attention. EDIT : hhwolfman, that is the shilling account for sure, i never knew the full name; i don't like the recent account protection on eBay, its easier to hide this way. I only knew the last account he used : diosazteca 79
