I was an arcade rat of the 70s and early 80s. For me it's when the ColecoVision came out that I said I would rather stay at home and play rather than go to the arcade.

Check out the video and the comments are interesting.

Do you think you could just have one thread in the Gaming Publications and Web Sites forum where you can discuss your channel? Getting tired of seeing threads about your channel on a daily basis in different threads - it's getting spammy.

I wish there were a console/emulator(?) I could buy that I could connect via HDMI into a TV, and a dual joystick setup that I could plug into it. What's the easiest way to play Robotron 2084 with classic arcade joysticks? Thank you all in advance. Apologies again for my ignorance of any of this. I've tried doing some research on my own, but it's been more complicated than I expected.
Get a Canakit from Amazon
Get an Xbox 360 controller and receiver where you can use both thumbsticks for Robot Ron.
Install RetroPie.
Download MAME ROMs from Archive.org
Don't forget to give me thanks.

Five year old thread. I don't even watch Twitch anymore because it's no longer supported on Roku.

Has anyone gotten this to work on Raspberry Pi with an Xbox controller? Just looking for a ready made coolcv_mapping.txt file but I can't find one uploaded anywhere. Are there instructions anywhere on how to edit this file?
Never mind. Found it after a lot of digging.

Spent much of the past weekend watching concerts in my YouTube playlist.
Signed up for NFL Game Pass so I'm watching condensed games from the Eagles 2017 Super Bowl season.
Watched Charles Bronson's Death Wise V that I recorded a year ago. I liked how he fixed the bad guy's dandruff problem.
When I'm bored watching TV, I txt a friend of mine and we take turns picking a video game to play and then we txt each other our scores. We started doing that Friday night. So far we've played Frostbite and BurgerTime on the 2600 and Pooyan on the NES.

The very first game to play is Combat. You also need Warlords and Indy 500.

Yes, but only using an emulator. I have a special saved state -- in the level with the white-green small birds, the third time through the rounds. It loads up just as ~10 of them are flying away, and even then I only get it about a quarter of the time.
What a strange quirk. Is it known if this was an intentional game feature?
I wasn't aware of that in the latter stages. I've been doing it on the second board first time through.

Thanks for the input, I wish I could find a safe place to get that rom, as for I only know of sites that carry sega genesis roms and not Sega Master System games like Putt and Putter
Try this: https://archive.org/details/sega_sms_library

Any fans of the game here?
My local bowling alley got this one in and I loved it. I was kind of surprised this was released for the 2600 though because at the time it seemed like I was the only one that played it at the bowling alley.
Have you ever successfully executed the three bird trick that gives you 200,000 points? I've done it several times but for me it's difficult to execute.

I believe Boscov's is still around in the PA area.
Yes there is one down the street from me at the local mall. A lot of rumors of the mall being demolished though.

I would be careful of using games as an escape or as therapy -- falling into habituation and needing a "game fix" isn't super healthy.

With all due respect, if you don't suffer from anxiety then please don't opine. There is no cure for anxiety. I personally have found video games helpful as well as marijuana. Playing video games is more healthy than taking a drug with a shit load of side effects.

Bump for auctions ending Saturday. I will have more stuff up Saturday afternoon but there's not much left (thank goodness).

The shit hit the fan when I created the "Female Celebrities You Find Attractive" club so they got rid of them all.

Miniature Golf on the 2600 is another relaxing game. Got stoned the other night (I have a medical marijuana card) and was playing this - made me laugh at some of the courses. I had this game when I was a kid and my friends made fun of me for having it.

Am I the only one that thinks like this? Thoughts?
No.
For under $100 I have a Raspberry Pi loaded with over 10,000 games connected HDMI to my 50+ inch TV and a wireless Xbox controller so I can sit my fat ass in the recliner. While this setup doesn't allow me to play systems like Atari 5200, INTV and ColecoVision because of keypad input, a lot of those games are arcade translations anyway which I can play in MAME and those libraries pale in comparison to what I otherwise can play.
