  1. Took the day off from work today just to get Philly sandwiches.  Everyone should be this wise!

Didn't make me want a Philly, but made me crave a local place with the most ridiculous thick-sliced hot salami Italian sandwich.  Don't tell your heart doctor.

I think I may have made a Philly thread somewhere-- someone else may have too.  I should rummage around.

  3. God have mercy on my soul.. I'm playing 720 EMULATED with mouse control.  Any hints on how to set up Analog Controls in MAME?

  4. Without a proper steering wheel (like emulated) Super Sprint is DAMN hard.

Also...I'd just like to point out that while I always considered it a PRETTY GOOD Sprint,...I'm not sure it ever was a SUPER Sprint!

@GoldLeader Of course, playing the follow-up doesn't really make you feel like a Champion.

Racing games like Super Sprint and Pole Position do not use analog steering but optical spinners which are read digitally by the machine.  So instead of using the X-axis of an analog joystick in MAME, just map the joystick to the "Steer Left" and "Steer Right" which are used by the arrow keys.

You may have to adjust the digital speed in the Analog section to get the right feel, but trust me it works much better that way.

@BydoEmpire Yep; I remember that well.  I'm glad the Pacific NW at least got a championship for the first time in forever, but I do get sick of the Seahawks and their whiny coach.. and ALL the breaks they get their way.

The 2003 Divisional Rd vs. the Eagles has to hurt too-- allowing a 4th and 26 conversion in regulation to allow the Eagles to send it to OT.  Ridiculous.

Oh god, that was the worst in a long time... I remembered it as 4th and 21... but makes no difference, it sucked.

No doubt they're going to consider firing LaFleur or other heads are gonna roll.

  6. Jeez.. where the hell are all these houseflies coming from?  Annoying!

  7. Yuck-- gotta read the label thoroughly before buying mayonnaise.  I got Light Mayo last time-- yuck!  Not only better for you (bleargh) but tastes like ass.

I've been bitten by that mistake before. It's real mayo or no mayo for me.

Does Olive Oil mayo taste better? I considered trying it, but it looked more like a marketing gimmick as there was very little olive oil in the ingredients list.

I think olive oil mayo is nasty. Probably all oil based mayo is nasty.

  8. Jeez, YouTube.. why do you chew off the end of some of my videos?

  9. Pringles to me seems kind of blah these days.  But their Wavy Sweet & Spicy BBQ chips are a pleasant surprise!

@GoldLeader They went on clearance price; that's how I saw them.  The Doritos Sweet & Spicy is really good but this had more of a kick to them.  Hope you can get a hold of some.

  10. It saddens me that any pair of shoes I buy last around a half year or less.  Toe comes apart, sides split, heel wears out, etc.

Maybe try Altras - they feature a wide toe box, which is excellent and IMHO is the way shoes should be. I can't wear them anymore because after about revision 3 they started to make the uppers too narrow.  Earlier on they were perfect.  They're made for runners so they might last a little longer.  Worth trying some.

The thing on Any shoe is,...Buy multiple pairs and rotate them.  If you wear any shoe every day it will wear out quickly, but even buying 2 pair and giving it a day off makes them last longer, (I've always heard)...Seems to work for me...Hell I've still got some British Knights in my collection from 1996!

  11. Man, I can sure while away the hours watching old movie trailers.  Kind of fun to see how quickly I can identify them.

Your Update reminds me of my friend who had some DVD that cycled through posters of all the old black and white sci-fi and monster movies.  He'd put it on in the background on one wall, using his projector while we'd be chatting, drinking beer, watching clips on his computer, etc.

I've thought about maybe buying one of those 42ND STREET FOREVER! DVDs full of exploitation film trailers.  Though you can still see trailer collections on YouTube.

  12. Oh cool! Yeah, that must have been an infinite lives cheat-- I'll do a regular game play without cheats and then sometimes put on cheats for a bit just to show gameplay of where I left off. Or later interesting parts of the game I was unable to reach. It's been quite a while since I posted that one. I have a regular BAGMAN video as well.
  13. That's pretty damn impressive. I wish that both games would have a radar screen telling you where the guards were, on which screen.
  14. I know how easy this topic is to respond to if you're thinking of a lot of Capcom vs. fighting games-- Ryu from Street Fighter appearing in, say, Marvel vs. Capcom or something-- and that's fine. But also, various little icons that appeared/originated in other games, making cameo appearances! I will start with a small number of Capcom usuals: BARREL This was originally from the Japan-only game PIRATE SHIP HIGEMARU. It cameos in many Capcom games including 1943. I think it gives you more weapon power/life in that game if I remember correctly. It also holds weapons/bonus items/etc. in GUNSMOKE. YASHICHI This item often is very lucrative when you collect it, or it gives you a 1up. This actually originally appeared as an enemy in the game VULGUS. It is a red-and-white pinwheel type of icon based on a Japanese tv series called MITO KOMON. COW Also known as HOLSTEIN, this I believe originally appeared in GUNSMOKE. This later appeared in several other games like STRIDER and FORGOTTEN WORLDS. Usually worth some nice bonus points. DRAGONFLY This originally appeared as an enemy in SON SON. It would later usually appear as a bonus item in Capcom games and was worth some nice points. It was in GUNSMOKE, 1943, and others. WHITE STAR A simple white star appeared in numerous Capcom games; usually bonus points. It may have first been in GUNSMOKE. BAMBOO A sprout of bamboo first appeared in 1943. It may have also appeared in BLACK TIGER and 1944: THE LOOP MASTER. Either points or a POW, and you may have to shoot it to make it appear. POW Ah.. one of the most famous Capcom cameos! First appeared in VULGUS. Usually gives you a weapon power up, or points, or acts as a smart bomb, affecting/destroying all onscreen enemies. What cameo items/characters can you think of that originated in one game, but appeared in another/others as well?
