  1. Most recently played Wrecking Crew for the NES. Now I'll probably record some arcade game movies off of MAME for my YouTube videos, mostly obscure games.
  2. Cute. It's good to see young 'uns getting into the old-school classics. Looks like Donkey Kong 3 next to it.
  3. Anyone know if I SPECIFICALLY need an Electrohome G07904-10 cap kit or if Electrohome GO7 cap kits basically work on all EH G07 monitors? I have an Electrohome G07CB0 kit for my Phoenix (which I didn't need) but I do need a cap kit for Dig Dug (the Electrohome G07904-10).
  4. I thought Prince Of Persia was awful.. the movements were very choppy, especially for a Sega CD game. It seemed all the real effort went into the anime cutscenes, which were at least amusing due to the really bad dubbing and voice "talent". And I liked the blood factor in it.. not overly gory but you definitely had red stuff on you no matter what way you died.
  5. Uh.. Ivan Ironman Stewart's Off Road..? Not sure of this game.
  6. Hmm.. I wonder if you're into racing and shooting games? - FOOL! GET 'IM! --Mad Monk, Kid Niki: Radical Ninja
  7. Probably my favorite arcade sound ever, followed behind the opening of DK. Got the Mat Mania count as an mp3? I could annoy my wife for weeks with that as my ringtone. Captured about one minute of the game, now trying to chop it so it just has the referee counting.
  8. "Kidnapped..? MY DAPHNE'S BEEN KIDNAPPED AGAIN?? IDIOT!!!"--Daphne's fat mother, Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp

  10. Here you go Cafe. Hope you enjoy!
  11. I have the Nichibutsu's Greatest for the SNES, and it's good but they should have put MagMax on there. Now THAT was a good game! I hope someday they will make a TV Game Plug and Play console with Atari Arcade Classics, not just the Atari 2600 games. It might be tough to translate Battlezone's controls onto a simple joystick but Tempest's spinner control could be simulated by turning the top of the joystick, like on Pole Position on the Namco Classics Jakks Pacific game. Oh, and a Universal TV Game would be nice, with the whole Mr. Do series and Ladybug and Snap Jack, maybe others.
  12. "You better hope you don't find me.. the Wizard Of Wor.."--Wizard Of Wor
  13. "Kouuken!!!" "Hao! Shou Koh Ken!" "Hien Shippu Kyaku!" --Ryo Sakazaki, Art Of Fighting "OKAY!"--Terry Bogard tossing his cap after a victory--Fatal Fury/2/Special/etc.
  14. If you want some good instrumentals.. A Fifth Of Beethoven-Walter Murphy Pick Up The Pieces-Average White Band Fire On High-ELO
  15. I had the first 3 Namco Collections on PSX and loved them, even with some crappy games like Dragon Buster or Grobda. I loved the Atari collections as well. And the Midway's Greatest was terrific also. The Sega Genesis had a fantastic Williams collection, that played exactly like the originals. I enjoyed setting the extra lives option to "every 1,000 points" on Robotron and kicking ass.
  16. Great minds think alike, eh? I remember that being popular in the early 80s, so I figured it might bring fuzzy nostalgic memories for someone.

"Warrior, your life force is running out!" "Warrior is about to die!"--Gauntlet "WUNN... TwOOOOOoo... "Morah!"--Hanzo/Fuuma, World Heroes/2/Perfect
  18. "AAAAAHHHHHH!" (dies) ..Get Ready! --Space Harrier "I will chisel your gravestone. Sleep well!"--Krauser, Fatal Fury 2/Special
  19. You probably want to own Defender too! And perhaps Frontline as well. A few Neo Geo shooters I'd like to add to my cabinet would be Last Resort and Blazing Star, or maybe Pulstar.
  20. I'd say it comes down to the opinion of the gamer. Some people like uncovering sound tests or credits (which I think is lame), some want to get every weapon in the game, some want to find a bonus area.. etc. If you want to know whether an unlockable trick is worth it, look up a gaming website and it should tell you what your reward is. If you think it looks interesting by all means spend some time trying to get it. In Resident Evil 4 I spent plenty of time trying to beat the Professional mode so I could get the P.R.L cannon. Boy oh boy was it worth it! I had to cheat to get the Handcannon (used Action Replay) and it wasn't really worth it. Just depends on where your interests lay. If you wasted x amount of hours trying to unlock some code that wasn't worth it, just remember that life isn't really THAT short. And now you can tell your friends not to bother trying to unlock the item/weapon/bonus round/whatever, and save them some headache.

  22. Hey all. What was your favorite fighting game? (i.e., Combatribes, Kung Fu Master, etc.) What was your favorite space shooter? (i.e., Gradius/Nemesis, Blazing Star, R-Type, Scramble, etc.) What was your favorite plane shooter? (i.e., Aero Fighters, Gunbird, etc.) These are just examples. Take any genre you can think of and shout out your favorite, or if there's a tie name others. I'll throw down a few. Favorite maze game: Ms. Pac Man/SpectarDig Dug/Mr. Do! Favorite space shooter: Blazing Star/Pulstar/Last Resort/Scramble Favorite non-scrolling platformer: Donkey Kong
  23. People generally bash the Sega CD for all its FMV games, but I liked some of them. I enjoyed Night Trap and Sewer Shark quite a bit (and enjoyed trying to kill off the good guys, or get Ghost pissed off at you) and REALLY dug Road Avenger, and the cheesy song played during the opening. If I were to just get one more Sega CD game, it would have to be Popful Mail. I never played it but I saw the opening video of it, and was very impressed.
  24. Well, the difficulty of VS. Super Mario Bros. was considerably greater than the NES version. I recall some frustrating moments playing that after accustoming myself to the home system. Games with speed control issues or poor jumping mechanics kind of get under my skin. If you've ever played Ice Climber, you'd agree that that must be one of, if not the, worst jump of a video game character ever. Very nice vertical, but almost no distance.
  25. I need to order a cap kit for my Dig Dug. It's got the same problems, I believe, as you had in your "before" pic.
