Aaaaand Watchdogs jumps the shark before it's even released

I've really never been a handheld fan but after spending time with the 3DS I can totally see myself sticking solely to handhelds in the future. The game and genre selections are just amazing and a reminder of how things used to be .
-
I just got into the 3DS so I've been on a buying spree and playing everything from Bravely Default and Shin Megami to the new Kirby and Yoshi's New Island.

I didn't think it was possible, but Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has topped Returns. It's an incredibly crafted platformer with an HD sheen and an insane attention to detail, and any fan of the genre owes it to themselves to experience it. With the addition of control options to the already proven formula, Retro Studios' rendition of Donkey Kong is pretty much flawless.

They need fresh blood, pure and simple. The company is pretty much held hostage by Iwata and Miyamoto and their whims. I don't care if you don't feel like making and F Zero or Star Fox, Shiggy, put every ounce of tech you've got into these games as showpieces for what the console can do. Buy more 2nd and 3rd party devs because every generation your 1st party titles simply preach to the already converted.
They just need fresh and exciting games, games, and more games, and to finally break out of their dusty and stagnating Japanese business mentality.

I'd say that you bought easily the best games currently out for it. There's a new Donkey Kong Country in February and Smash Bros/Mario Kart later in the year which are looking pretty top notch.

Donkey Kong Country Returns IS hard as balls, especially on the Wii. However I think what makes it so hard is the shoehorning of motion controls to do things like steer a rocket when a regular button press would have worked better.
-
Yes, it's a Zelda Dynasty Warriors game

Oh is that the lava level with the rotating blocks that you have to stay on? I absolutely despised that level because I suck at mechanics like that.
Yeah, I'm figuring this out now.. At Bowser's World (the real one), and it's definitely picking up in difficulty. I lost 20-something lives and got my first game over on the "Grumpy Blocks" (or whatever it's called) stage.

After a bit more time with the game I'd dare say that this is the Wii U's ''killer app''. While I've enjoyed the console since launch this is the first game that's made me think ''holy crap, I'm glad I have this console''. And next year with DK, Smash, Mario Kart, and Bayonetta methinks the fun won't end anytime soon.

It's an incredible game, easily my favorite out of all the core Mario titles. It's pretty much a ''greatest hits'' featuring nods to every Mario game.

Damn good reviews, unfortunately lack of funds prohibit me from picking it up this week

The only thing that would compel me to buy a PS4 or X1 is if the Assassins Creed series stops appearing on the U. Until then I'm not interested.

I played my parent's Atari but them buying me a Jr of my own for Christmas was the shit. I don't think it was a coincidence that a Jr was the first model I bought a few years ago when I got back in to Atari.
I wonder how many people here got a nice new atari 2600 jr for Christmas and have fond memories of that day? I mean, in that era you could have bought an atari at a garage sale for $20 with a pile of games. It was outdated, atari had better systems out, competitors had better systems out...but I bet plenty of kids that didn't have video games yet still got a new jr under the tree and probably loved it. Just saying, what Nintendo is doing here isn't some new idea or anything

I saw one of these in Walmart today, I'll admit that I was tempted even though I have zero need for it other than new console smell lol.

I still haven't been able to find out how much, if any, memory this thing has.

The Wii Mini is coming to the U.S. this holiday season, Nintendo announced today. The redesigned system will be bundled with Mario Kart Wii for $100, and is expected to arrive by mid-November.

As for me it falls into the ''decent'' category. Maybe it's because I'm not much of a Sonic fan to begin with but I'm just not feeling this game. It's definitely a quality title with good production value but it really doesn't suit my tastes.

There is also going to be a Skylanders Swap Force/Nintendoland bundle in November for $299, however it is the white 8 gig console.
A white Wii U Basic systemA Skylanders SWAP Force starter pack that includes:Skylanders SWAP Force Wii U softwareA Portal of PowerThree Skylanders figures, including Ninja Stealth Elf (one of the Core Skylanders) and two SWAP Force characters: Blast-Zone and an exclusive color shift WashbucklerA collector poster, trading cards and sticker sheetsA Nintendo Land game discIf you break it down though, that's $100+ worth of software included. Pretty good deal if you're into Skylanders.

I think I spent about 5 minutes with the original release so for all intents and purposes this is a new game to me. And it's awesome. The graphics, sound, and gameplay all combine to form one hell of a great game. This is hands down the most easy to get into Zelda game I've played since maybe the SNES.
-
It sucks personally because I was really looking forward to DK. However the 3D Mario World is looking pretty pants pissingly good so it should hopefully take away some of the sting.
-
I got the last 3 in my local Target, the two plain Pac variations and the metal one. The cashier told me that a bunch of people have bought them.
I can't wait to see the stacks of copies of the game that they get in now lol.
-
Nope, for better or worse I'm going Wii U only this coming generation.
