Granted, Nintendo does skew more to the family friendly but to say that video games are "mostly for kids" is just plain wrong. These days it seems like those are the games that most of the kiddies want to play whereas aging farts like myself are craving Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong lol. I'd dare say that I think Nintendo's Gen X consumer base is just as large as its younger consumer base.

On the other hand I'm kind of liking the slow pace of games (even though it hurts the system). It gives me time to enjoy the few I got on the Wii U and keep up with other stuff. I just bought Luigi and Pikmin, I ordered Splinter Cell, and I've got 6 games preordered.....and there's still more coming that I want. It has gone from 0-60 almost too quickly.
  4. I honestly really like the look of this. As much as I like the 3D on the 3DS it's just too damn cramped for my ham hands.
  5. Not only has the MSRP dropped to $50, but there will be a limited edition with a Ganon figure available- http://www.gamestop.com/wii-u/games/the-legend-of-zelda-the-wind-waker-hd-with-limited-edition-ganondorf-collectible-figurine/111455
  6. Gamestop seems to include a bonus with the game that I haven't seen listed with other retailers yet- ''Pre-order Sonic Lost World and get upgraded to the Deadly Six Bonus Edition! Contains Exclusive Deadlier Game Content: Defeat Sonic's new enemies, the Deadly Six, in exclusive extra boss battles featuring enormous monsters! Fight across an exclusive new level Monsters inspired by the hit game "NiGHTS into Dreams..." It's Sonic's worst nightmare!'' http://www.gamestop.com/wii-u/games/sonic-lost-world/109977
  7. I preordered it. I had been keeping an eye on this since it was announced but the demo cemented it as a must buy.
  8. Bought this today when I picked up Luigi U. I had never played a Pikmin game before but holy crap is this fun. I had to force myself to stop playing.

The amount of effort it takes to pick up your USB flashdrive - that's how much force this thruster has.

Over time it builds up and craft can reach hundreds of thousands of miles per hour speed.

How long? 5 years or more.

You won't see ion-thruster craft landing on Earth anytime soon. But you'll see space probes going all over the SolarSystem.

  9. I want to find a man sized litterbox. I've been using a toilet for 35 years and it's time for a change.

  10. If I had the money to throw around I'd get a bad game related tattoo, maybe an Awesome Possum on my butt cheek.

How about a dead possum shoved up your butt instead?

  11. I'd be interested to know if they still carry the Vita in their stores.
  12. When I have kids I want to name them after game characters; that's why they'll be AAAAA and A.S.S.

Heh. A family member wanted to name their son Andrew Scott S, but then his initials would have been A.S.S. My nephew's initials are R.A.P. I kid I babysat for eons ago initials made his name M.T. Carton.

This gives me a good idea for a mobile app (assuming it doesn't already exist): a "Baby Name Screener", which prospective parents can use before they decide on a baby's name to check for embarrassing initials, homonyms, homophones, etc.

  13. Cool idea for a video. The only ''plug n play'' I've ever owned was one that I bought at KB years ago for like $2. It contained Commodore 64 games.
  14. Modern games kill classic gaming skills. I've learned this first hand when it took me a dozen tries to get past the first red gargoyle in Ghosts n Goblins.
  15. I'm behind on games as it is, I just finally started playing Skyrim and that came out a year and a half ago. There's plenty left for me to play. It's a hard thing to put into words but I'm finally satisfied with where I am in the hobby, I don't crave or want anything more.
  16. I used to have a bug up my butt about modern games but I stepped back, got some perspective and realized ''holy crap there are a lot of games I enjoyed these past several years''. That being said I own a U, I own a 360 and my train with this hobby stops here. As of right now I have little to no interest in the upcoming consoles and I'll be continuing to collect for what I already have.
  17. $1.75 or so for the 360 version of Dark Sector. It's a pretty solid game to boot.
  18. I'm half way tempted to buy it just to say I have the last ps2 release.
  19. I've gotten a hard-on for open world rpgs so I'm juggling Skyrim, Risen 2, Divinity 2, and Gothic 4, as well as playing through Far Cry 3.
  20. Resident Evil 6. All I heard was that this game is a cluster **** yada yada yada but I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I've played every single game in the franchise and bought RE1 when it was a new release and I don't feel ''betrayed'' by Capcom. The scale of the story this series evolved into simply requires more bombastic gameplay than corridor crawling in a mansion can provide.
  21. In all the excitement over the PS4 one thing I haven't noticed mentioned much is....ummmmm....games. Everybody and their mother is creaming their jeans over ''no drm! yay!'' but I've yet to see anybody say ''holy shit, look at those games!!! I need them now!!!!'' My U line-up is all set, there's like a dozen games I want. However between the PS4 and Xbone I've yet to see anything more compelling than what I'm already playing or will be able to get on my 360.
  22. I'm not a soldier but I did just that....a used one (I had traded my last one in towards the U). I'm kinda glad to say that MS has made almost no money off of me as a consumer this past generation. Other than a few months where I paid for XBL for Netflix, they've gotten nothing from me. I'll keep playing my used 360, and my used 360 games, and nod appreciatively at my financial savings. And for the record I've purchased 25 retail games for the U, every one of them brand new. I reward the decent companies.
