  1. At the very least you can be assured that EA's Star Wars games will appear on the U. I highly doubt Disney cares about EA's retarded drama and when they say jump you ask how high.
  2. The resounding sentiment that I'm seeing across message boards is that this thing landed with all the impact of a wet fart in church. I think it's pretty obvious that console makers simply have no idea what to do anymore; the law of diminishing returns hit them hard and it shows with consoles like this. I made the decision to go Nintendo only going forward and to me I think I made the right decision. They might not be "hardcore" enough for some folks but at least they're not outrageously anti-consumer and they're still the closest thing to a pure game console on the market.
  3. No backwards compatability+no used games=no buy.
  4. Some of the Wii games are starting to bump up in price. I picked up Lost in Shadow new off Amazon for $11 a few months ago, it's now $23. Cursed Mountain, a survival horror game I enjoyed is now $20 (I paid $8 for a new copy). Fragile Dreams:Farewell Ruins of the Moon is an interesting and atmospheric survival horror-lite game that can still be had for a reasonable price. Deadly Creatures is cool, and Mushroom Men is a fun 'lil platformer. There's quite a few good, relatively unknown games I enjoyed on the Wii.
  5. Ubisoft is wholeheartedly supporting it, as are Capcom, WB, and others. EA's loss is their gain. Let's see the sum of EA's U output: Mass Effect 3, which is useless if you haven't played the other two, and Fifa/Madden in which they couldn't even be bothered to include the new physics and improvements and merely reskinned the previous installments. I know I'll be weeping into my Cheerios over the lack of their stellar games on the platform....:/
  6. The retail disc of Luigi will also be a limited edition. While the wait stinks I can't pass up that lovely green case. ''Nintendo has revealed that New Super Luigi U will be released as a limited edition standalone boxed game as well as DLC for those who already own New Super Mario Bros. U. The physical copy will come in a fetching green case and will retail for $29.99 in North America - $10 more than the DLC. It's expected to hit store shelves August 25th, while the European release will take place almost a month earlier, on July 26th. The DLC edition is coming June 20th.'' http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/05/new_super_luigi_u_will_be_available_as_a_standalone_packaged_game
  7. Don't forget the Ninty/Sega love-fest with the next 3 Sonic games being Nintendo exclusives. There's also hints going around that Sonic might be in the next Mario Kart.
  8. I'm of the mind that why should an unaffiliated party make money off showing a game, from start to finish, that Nintendo spent years and millions of dollars to create? Whoop dee doo that you played the game and put it on Youtube. Did you put in one penny or minute of your time into its development? No, so what gives you the right to sit there and spoil/expose the entire thing ? If you can sit there and watch the entire thing there's really no incentive to go out and buy it. God knows that there's enough games where watching a few vids suffices instead of purchasing it.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhCc9vmSHe0&feature=player_embedded '' Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. is thrilled to announce that Pac is back! PAC-MAN™ and the Ghostly Adventures will be coming to North and Latin American retailers in fall 2013 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Wii U™ system from Nintendo with an exclusive side-scrolling version of the game coming to the Nintendo 3DS® fall of 2013. Built upon the timeless and wildly successful PAC-MAN® legacy, PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures will boast an entirely new and exciting gaming adventure that is currently under development.'' http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=202548
  10. Oh sweet, I'm sure this will be a vast change from the last 7. I don't know how people aren't bored to death with this series yet.
  11. Just an FYI but Toys R Us has all console formats of the game on sale for $35 this week.
  12. All the time I've put into the console I've only had one lock up from a game. However the web browser locks up on me with shocking regularity.
  13. It's a very neat game and one whose core concept is so simple that it's shocking that it really hasn't been done before. Definitely a sleeper hit on the Wii.
  14. Supposedly holding down the power button now does a hard reset instead of needing to pull the power cord in the event of a lock-up.
  15. I'd rather they invest the money wisely than waste it on overblown stage shows and celebrities that nobody gives a rats ass about. Those Nintendo directs are fun, they get me far more hyped than any E3 ever has.
  16. *shrug* That's about all the enthusiasm I can muster for gaming anymore: a big, fat, ''whatever'' shrug.
  17. Nothing much since I've been sick this past week but I did toss a couple hours into Monster Hunter.
  18. I think they'll charge a pittance to upgrade the original VC titles to the U VC but as far as I know you don't lose anything you bought if you don't choose to ''upgrade''. Really the main selling point the U VC has over the original is save states, off tv play and miiverse integration. (I'm eagerly awaiting the .30 Super Metroid next month for exactly these reasons).
  19. I'm excited, LttP was the only Zelda I ever loved. The 3D ones don't do anything for me.
  20. Haven't played Luigi's Mansion but I've heard it's great. I don't play the 3DS often but what I have played has been enjoyable: Starfox, Resident Evil Revelations, the Mario titles, and the new Castlevania is pretty awesome. I hope to pick up Monster Hunter sometime soon and the Symphony of the Night-style Batman game in the fall sounds pretty sweet. There's enough games out that I would be interested in to consider it a worthy purchase if I didn't have one already.
  21. I personally don't see anything ''gimmicky'' about it, I think the PS4s touchpad and share button are far bigger gimmicks. This pad has streamlined games and if that's all it ever does I'd still consider it a success. Having to press buttons to go to separate status and click through inventory screens feels dated; with this things are a single tap away. Monster Hunter uses it brilliantly, it lets you select and choose what HUD functions you want onscreen and if you want to have everything on the pad you can. Stuff like that isn't a gimmick to me, it's streamlining a games interface for the better.
  22. Ok so the Xbox brand has just committed suicide, now let's just wait for one of Sony's typical retarded/suicidal decisions, (no bc is pretty g-damn close, I'm sure the PS4 price tag will be the trigger pull) to have a complete meltdown. I said on another site that at the end of the day the Wii U will be the least offensive option for gamers this coming gen and I'm standing by it.
  23. I bought the console at launch and it's gotten about 1200 hours of use since then lol. If I'm not playing games I'm web browsing or streaming Youtube to the tv. This is easily the most used piece of electronics I own. Yeah it has some problems but good god I'm loving this console and am genuinely pleased with it. Some more games would be welcome but this slow stretch has allowed me some space to expand my tastes and I discovered that I love Monster Hunter, a series I never gave a second look to before.
  24. I go from playing nothing to too many games. Lego City will be here on Tuesday, bought Monster Hunter at Gamestop and got Need for Speed, The Walking Dead and Scribblenauts from Target.
