The PS4 made me appreciate modern gaming after being a PC gamer for almost two decades. Just the fact that you can pop in a disc and have awesome graphics, fluid gameplay, without the need of updating hardware and drivers made me appreciate it a lot, especially the pro version. I know this base vs pro as well as the whole exclusive content is a debate of bad business practice, but that didn't stop me from having tons of fun with the system. Bloodborne being one of my favorite games of all time.. has it been 10 years already? Oh, don't you worry. Whatever happens...you may think it all a mere bad dream.

You know we all want to see this release happen in 2023 I can honestly say this is the most fun multiplayer on the Lynx platform, and I played my share of comlynx -
3DS eShop games to get before closure March 27th
Ninjabba replied to Ninjabba's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Less than 2 months left before closing time, no hurries with the list I just realized that unless I hack the 3DS there's no way to do any backups.. that does suck bigtime.. so there's no possibility whatsoever after the eShop closes and the 3DS breaks down to get your purchases. Bye bye exclusives.. -

3DS eShop games to get before closure March 27th
Ninjabba replied to Ninjabba's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Attack of the Friday Monsters is definitely a peculiarity that I'm happy to have found because of Nintendo announcing the closure of the eShop. I'm also amazed how I've been sleeping on Boxboy until now.. this is the kind of stuff that should be preserved -

Just realized that there's the Korg M01D and Korg DSN-12 applications, they are niche and quite expensive if not bought from the eShop -
3DS eShop games to get before closure March 27th

Haha geez I'm typing with my left hand lately to deal with carpal tunnel, I butchered those. There's also game gear games on virtual console that are not on the switch I believe I have the Fates special edition and pretty much all other Fire Emblem games for the 3DS. Was quick to act when it got released luckily -
3DS eShop games to get before closure March 27th

As the title suggests, I'm wondering what games to get for the 3DS before the eShop will be permanently closed. Specifically exclusives to the eShop. When the shop closes, it means that some 3DS games will be inaccessible forever(?) unless they get ported to newer consoles if that is even possible. So far I've got: - the 3D Classics - Attack of the Friday Monsters! - Pullblix/Fallbliox Then there are the Virtual Console games, which interestingly enough you can buy and play offline on the 3DS but on the Switch you'd have to get the online subscription to access the same games. -
Nice progress. Made it to the guy screaming for help but not sure how I died there maybe I placed a bomb that detonated? I'll play a few more rounds

Poachin' Jeff - LynxJam 2022 entry by The Third Jab
Ninjabba replied to Ninjabba's topic in Atari Lynx
Thanks! For the jam entry I'll make a few adjustments and probably try to add some more levels. Poachin'Jeff has a deep lore running in the transitions! -
@Gemintronic I can confirm I use the same strategy on the Atari Lynx for Wyvern Tales 1.
-
You'll have to ask @phoboz for his secrets I'm merely using what he creates, its his engine. We haven't put them yet in the maps, but I believe its already possible.
-
Hi all, Sharing some WIP on Wyvern Tales 2! This is by no means a playable demo, but we're excited to showcase some of the mechanics and capabilities of the engine before the end of this year!

Depending on how far you made it in the game, you will have a different starting point when you load your saved game. Your first starting point is the original village, then the bar, then the next village etc. This is mainly done because I have no extra fields available in the EEPROM, every single bit is used so I cannot store the exact coordinates of where you left off and instead use the events that have passed to track the progress. There is one upside to this approach though, it means you can never get stuck in the game! As in some classic JRPGs, if you'd save at the wrong time you could get really stuck and invalidate hours of playtime. In WT, you can always start from town where you can heal and level up
-
I will gladly go over all suggestions not making any promises though, some things are more feasible than others that is for sure!

This definitely captures the essence of the jam! Great animations!

First game I tried from the submissions, it's definitely a charming mini game. A bit easy to get a high score without busting the TV, but I wanted to see how much you can destroy it 😄 I did find a bug where when you for example throw the paddle at the TV and score when you're on the far left side and you walk to the right, the paddle will get stuck on the left side. Maybe its an idea to set the paddle to the remote position after that so it reflects the playing field.

I will gladly brainstorm on this for you too much nonsense happening around twitter that could be funny to see back.. employees that rage-quit, millions of bot accounts being deleted, dogecoin to the moon to name a few
-
Great job everybody! I'll have to rest a lot this week to recover from this last development stretch but looking forward to play around these mini games. I'm afraid I went in overambitious once again and couldn't wrap up the scoring mechanism I had in mind. Now its just setting times, but nothing that keeps track of the outcome.. if the jury allows for it I'll make a few more edits and tweaks for the final release for the cartridge.

Poachin' Jeff is once again late for his gift shopping. Luckily, his neighbors constantly order all kinds of packages from Zamano. You can still get your gifts in time! The Third Jab is back for LynXjam 2022!

Really clever game, I love it

Thanks for the tip Carl! I have never tried this, but when the time is right I'll start asking around
