  1. I did manage to cure my modern gaming fatigue since I posted almost 2 years ago the key seems to be extreme moderation.. it also helped that some games like the RE2 Remake felt like I finally was playing something that gave me the WOW factor that one expects from all the marketing around AAA games. Still staying away from most open world games, though my next stop will probably be Elden Ring during the winter months. As @zzip states, there seems to be nothing on the PS5 that is convincing enough to consider such an expensive upgrade, pretty much revealing the overall problem with modern gaming..
  2. I was thinking the same, but I think I came up with a decent solution. I just play the game once and that'll be my final score. Behold! As you can see, my score is nothing compared to what you guys have been submitting Now I'll focus on Awesome Golf ⛳
  3. It's a real shame that X will not be ported any time soon.. It's the only entry that has a playable mecha involved but not gonna buy a console for just one game.
  4. From the original topic: Some juicy gossip, I've been asked many years ago to port this game to the Jaguar I don't think I was ready at that point, but did some preliminary investigations.
  5. How many copies were distributed in the end? Looks like my copy will pay off the mortgage a few years from now
  6. Played the hell out of XBC1 and 2, so its only logical to pick up part 3. I find the world building phenomenal in these titles. I read a lot that 3 is the best entry so far. I'm delighted to see that they toned down the character designs a bit again, it was a bit distracting in 2 wrt. the tone of the story. Not a big fan of the huge (pun intended) fan service they were doing there. Anybody else playing XBC3?
  7. now that's something you don't hear often
  8. I can only throw in a sales pitch here but the Lynx has a nice homebrew community that can be fun to follow, but of course the most important question is what kind of games are you looking for to play. Plenty of good titles on the Lynx and most of it is affordable.
  9. Recently saw that video of AVGN with a guest appearance of Macaulay Culkin to go over those Home Alone games They all sucked of course..
  10. I have good memories of Low G Man on the NES. It got its share of criticism but an update could definitely overcome the scrolling issues and improve the movement of the player.
  11. Still very much interested ? Enjoy Croatia! Hope you have a chance to see Plitvice, one of the most beautiful places in Europe
  12. Star Ocean: Blue Sphere for the Gameboy color.. was only released in Japan for some reason but has so much good stuff going on.
  13. Thanks! I really enjoy these kind of reads
  14. I'll try to join this one more often.. really enjoyed the challenges in the past and with the McWill screen in place its a great time to revisit all the games. @jgkspsxI'm getting very close to wrapping up the Critter game, but we still need to balance it a bit with some play tests How about some STUN Runner?
  15. That's a well kept device you got there.. I got Elektronika Nu Pogodi CIB as a present from my gf and now I need to collect the rest as well
  16. mine's the same as the one that is for download on itch.io it already reached perfection
  17. Awesome collection indeed! Pity that shipping to Europe is stupid expensive these days.. You sure you don't want to stay around with all these amazing new homebrew releases coming out?
  18. No general interest in e-sports, though I also get fascinated with some of the crazy world records out there as well as some competitions - the super mario bros speedruns in general - the mario64 cosmic ray bit flip speedrun ? - street fighter competition, especially that EVO moment 37 is just insane - the YouTube channel Devs react to speedruns is quite funny - Those few guys mastering Tetris The Grand Master games, out of this world
  19. The final release will have some tweaks that might make it unfair; I got feedback that the current version doesn't increase the challenge much after certain scores. Fourth game is well on its way but as usual I underestimate the work involved
  20. Oh wow how could I have missed this ? somehow managed to screw up copying text from a spreadsheet
  21. Sharing the updated title screens with the killer highscores of the competition! Since I will not include these scores in the final game I thought I'd share them here.
  22. Ah yeah, classic Ninja Gaiden III where they decided to replace the infinite continues with just five continues and as a result I never managed to get past the 2nd level. That probably was one of the more disappointing experiences in recent times for me on the Lynx.
  23. I guess I arrived too late at the party..
