game mechanics that need to die already
Starscream replied to xg4bx's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Ok this isn't really a mechanic but needs to go. Wooden crates. I think a game should be made about the guy that goes through all the games and sets up the crates and resets them after a while in some games. It would be just a game of wooden crates. I don't think I have ever encountered a wooden crate in the street, or a hallway, or a restaurant, etc in real life. OTOH, if in real life I could go whack a light pole and get a gold coin, I would be happy. -
Sorry, I had to. Every time the Japanese culture introduces another retarded idea into the world, this picture seems so fitting. Maybe others feel like I do and that's why you see that pic so often. They just never seem to run out of stupid over there.

Kinect Launch Day. Disturbingly slow?
Starscream replied to Paul Humbug's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
Don't worry, inside sources say they are being returned, so you should be able to find one -
Kinect Launch Day. Disturbingly slow?
Starscream replied to Paul Humbug's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
Nope, you both are off track. Notice I said atarian63s sources. These are the super-secret sources. That don't exist. And make stuff up. It's totally possible for these sources to proclaim something as outrageous as more returns than units sold. I would also say that there are already truckloads of defective ones being sold for $5 to another country. A quick look at Bestbuys website and Kinect reviews show very high ratings for the stand alone and bundle. Odd that BB is getting so many returns. My previous assessment in another thread that atarian63 is a Gamestop employee appear to be incorrect. I think he works at Bestbuy based on the "facts" concerning Bestbuy twice in this thread. -
Kinect Launch Day. Disturbingly slow?
Starscream replied to Paul Humbug's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
According to atarian63 sources, nearly 650K Kinect units have already been returned out of the 475K sold due to defects. -
Yup 6:30 EST every day there was an update. Msot of the daily updates seemed to be Netflix and Zune updates. I did notice that some avatar stuff we purchased no longer works with the new dash.

Nope, not a proctologist either, but can still spot an asshole. Yep, just look in the mirror. Ok, I figured this all out. Unhealthy fanatascism - check Childish behavior - check (BTW, "I'm rubber you're glue" may have worked better) "Insider" info - check So, how long have you worked at Gamestop?

Links please? This reeks of ass-talking. You reek of ass talking.. Links? to what? A private conversation with a major retail client. I am already in violation of my agreement for just disclosing this much. sorry if it does not fit your view of the 360 but since they sell alot of them I would think they would know better than you. It still has problems just fewer. ooooohhhhh, one of those my brothers-uncles-cousins-wifes-friends-boss-suppliers sisters-sons told me kinda thing. I get it. Like I said prove it.

Voted 360 Slim. I have both but the PS3 gets used for Blu Ray and that's about all. Sony is right with their current commercial theme " It only does everything" but the problem is, they forget to tell you it doesn't do any of them very well. Online may be free but it's nowhere near the level of XB Live. No cross game chat, not nearly as many game demos, downloads and installs take forever then a few hours more, and it's just kinda messy and disorganized. I have never compared games side by side so no experience there. Never once have considered the PS3 version over the 360 because tons of friends on Live, I know and updates or online elements will be so much better on Live, and the only things I want it for would be exclusives like Uncharted or Little Big Planet. PS Home should have been huge and it falls short. Both have pretty strong libraries at this point but the 360 suits me better. Ever since release it seems there's never been a dull month - something good just always seems to come out. As already said, I think the 360 controller is way better. I'm also in the new dash beta for the 360 and there are some welcome changes coming.

Game was sweet. Very difficult and very unique.

Actually, 2 SB games were made for the original Xbox, so this would be the 3rd game

I've been thinking about this for a while. All of them are full of it. Someone else mentioned earlier that 1 copy of them game can only allow one person to access the servers, no matter who owns it. If it's sold it's not like 2 people are now accessing that server at the same time. Unless, they are suggesting that the longevity of online play of that copy of the game is now extended, which then creates more bandwidth usage. But if they bothered to make something worth playing for years, like any Halo games seems to be able to do, they can't be getting hammered too hard. What I'd like to know is, how much extra revenue do they generate by selling DLC twice for 1 copy of a game?

Without a doubt, the best Halo game. Story is fantastic, graphics are good, level design is fast paced and pretty open at all times, and the enemy AI is downright wicked. Once again, Bungie didn't need to reinvent the wheel, they just made it better. 4 player campaign co-op took us 6:17, didn't mess with Firefight or Deathmatch yet but will get around to it maybe tomorrow night. This game is SICK!!

Got mine a bit ago, took off work so I can play all day

Rick, me and Jenn are always up to play as you know. I have been working pretty late every night but I may be able to get some time in. Look for her on there and we'll see if we can get together.

1. Not true. All of the outdoor levels were pretty big, with the exception of maybe the Ruins and when you fly the ghost down the river. Obviously, indoor places are more confined. 2. Not true. Plasma pistol with the SMG or any autofire weapon was almost instant kill. Having the skill to pull it off quickly made the difference. 3. True. They are supposed to be. Again, lack of skill doesn't mean the game is what sucks. Play Mario if you want easy. 4. Almost down the middle here. Breaking up the story did make it sucky, but setting up for Halo 3 was important. No need to cloak really. 5. Never noticed. Maybe the brightness/contrast setting should be changed. I can't think of any part that was dark except where the red markers were on the floor. 6. Right. It's Legendary it supposed to be more difficult. See number 2. And 3. Was it as good as Halo 1? Don't know, but there were some really cool parts, a good story, and some of the best visuals to date even including newer games. I do respect your opinions where applicible, but some of your facts aren't factual. And just so you know, you can go through Halo 1 start to finish firing only 4 shots, even on Legendary.

No. As we have seen with the wii, motion controls aren't changing the games, they are changing the gamers. Or not changing what we play but who plays them. Nintendo had a shitty idea with it, Sony is trying for the 2nd time on one system to do it, and now MS wants a part of the gayness for whatever reason. I have an idea. Just continue to make great games and not worry about who is playing them and quit figuring out ways to retard the whole industry.

Sony has been promising cross game chat for about 3 years now. I can google it and find statements from back then. It's not real until it happens. Secondly, you are paying for your "free games". And only Plus members can cross game chat. So Live won't give me some cheap "free" game that I can only play as long as I subscribe, but I do get the most perfect ( to date) online console service, that has much better features, better servers, less chance of cheaters, cross game chat, party chat, and is 100% more organized and optimized for a great online experience. I've been able to enjoy many of those features for about 8 years now, and the newer ones for about 5. And almost forgot, downloads don't take hours on Live, more like minutes. PSN has been too frusterating to bother with. So yeah, I didn't have to wait for Sony and surely see no attraction at all for their "service". Unimpressed.

you need to pay $50 to even play online on xbl period. what free games does ms give you? can you download FULL games to try? does ms give xbl subscribeers discounts on games? no, you pay $50 to just play a game online and use apps that are available for free everywhere else. online play on psn is still free. this is a bonus. sorry if $200 or so of free games a year isn't as good as the ummm.... whatever it is you pay to do on xbl. Full download games are playable for 1 hour. Yay. And still no cross game chat. Way to go Sony!! Sorry, but I'll buy another year of Live instead.

Xbox 360 "slim" - anybody buying into this rumor?
Starscream replied to wood_jl's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
The ones they sell now are already a lot quieter than the first ones they made. Still not as quiet as the PS3 though. I must be the only one in the world with a PS3 that sounds like a DC-10. Most of the time, the volume has to go way up so I can't hear the drive and fans on it, mainly when watching BR movies.
