Yeah. I'm aware of that. I've read everything for the past number of years. Point is we get a cryptic 7800 anniversary release date that nobody can agree on and it seems that's passed. Just looking for a hard release date or whatever is holding that up.

It seems a little strange to me that Curt hasn't chimed in to say "OK guys. Here's the deal." I'm not one to moan and groan about the lack of updates. He's a busy guy. I get that. It's just that it's gotten to the point of being a little rude.

(This item has been sold) I have for sale my Longhorn Engineer AV Mod for the 2600. I could never get the colors to look right on my 2600, but I suspect it was due to my console. I had even shipped this back to Longhorn to take a looksee and he upgraded this and said it worked fine on his system. I don't doubt him. $25.00 shipped.

I finally got around to replacing the metal plate on my 5200 this year. I just hit it with a blow dryer for a bit to soften up the old adhesive and pulled it off initially with some pliers. After I started it, it just pulled off by hand.
-
If it were the Tramiel Atari, it would have been the same number of people and the metal nameplate would have been black and white.

Thanks a lot for all the recent updates. That goes a long way. I think it's been pretty evident you've had the parts all along.
-
That's simply not true. Check the XM Status update site here: http://www.atarimuse...7800/expansion/ It would be nice if it was updated again, but to say that there is no explanation is incorrect. The issue that eightbit has is different and I think Curt should address it. It seems it's pretty hard to address this issue without people getting defensive. I think your link somewhat proves my point. The last update was July. I'm not even really complaining because I assume I'll get it eventually. I'm just commenting on the fact that dates pass without timely explanations. I'm fully aware of all the updates posted up to this point. I think most people are either upset due to lack of enough updates and or the time involved.

I preordered mine ages ago and this is the first time I've commented on this. The thing that seems to bother me the most is no explanation when projected dates are passed. It seems that no one is willing to explain what is going on without cajoling from a number of people. The delays don't bother me, it's just the lack of any timely explanation. The mysterious Sept 15 date has passed and still no comment. I mean, everybody is busy, has jobs, kids etc. I think if everyone knew what was going on, it wouldn't be a big deal. Is it that hard to blast out an email that says "Code being updated, fingers crossed, shipping Oct." or whatever?

The 2600 controllers won't work without some sort of adapter. Ports aren't compatible. You'd have to have your controllers rebuilt or order new rebuilt ones. http://best-electronics-ca.com/5200.htm I somewhat doubt the controller ports went bad. I ordered some new controllers from Best and I still had to adjust the controllers to my 5200. The main board will drift out of spec over time.

I picked this game up when it was released and it's really impressive. I finally got the chance to start playing it and realized my controller pots needed to be adjusted. I should be able to really enjoy this game now. I used to play the arcade version when I was in 6th grade at an arcade near me. The game really got your adrenaline going with the roaring Sinistar.

I got one recently from Best Electronics. They have plenty of them. I feel the joystick is a little tall and it can be hard to go diagonally, but it's miles better than the stock US proline sticks.

Really great news. Looking forward to that package on my doorstep.

Hey thanks Curt. Looks great.

Seems like it's getting time for an update. Any word Curt? Thanks.

I think you're thinking of Joystik. I remember that article too. I seem to recall the article talking about the system having almost limitless sprite capability. I found a guy online that had posted scanned copies of the mag. I lost the bookmark, but I did find this. Try a search on "Joystik" and you should find others. http://arcarc.xmission.com/Magazines%20and%20Books/Joystik%20Magazines%20%2810%20Issues%29/

I'm not having any luck, mate. My PAL 2600 JR has been there with 8bit Domain for nearly 9 months now. I'd e-mailed the new owner ever since 8Bit Domain Was ceased on 9th July, I'd e-mailed a claim about my console, He'd replied back and said He'd looked into it and ask me to wait a few days. These few days has now been Over a month! I sure hope he isn't a scamer like the previous owner was. It's been there for 3/4 of a Year now. Totally ridiculous I took my 2600 mod order to Longhorn Engineer. It was shipped recently, so I hope to have this thing up and running soon. I don't know what's going on with the new owners at 8 Bit. They still haven't updated any of the info at the site other than the headline section. It's been a long road just to get one of these things. Although, Longhorn doesn't have the selection that 8 Bit had.

I asked for a refund and it was honored. I got the same story that others received. That is was boxed up and ready to go, but never shipped. I didn't trust the stuff would work even if I received it. Hence the refund route.
-
I asked for a refund and the guy sent it pretty quickly. I'm going to stick with Longhorn until I hear what's up with 8 bit and all these boards that never shipped. The reviews for 8 bit have been pretty bad lately and I didn't want to take a chance after waiting 3 months. Hope you guys have good luck with your orders.
-
Double same. Anyone else here taking their order to Longhorn?
-
Thanks for the info on the joint shutting down. I put in my claim. I mean, after 3 months the guy couldn't once say "Hey, I'll refund your money. I won't be able to ship." I'll gladly take my money to Longhorn. Anyone have any bad experience with them?
-
Garner, When did you place your order? I'm still waiting on my April 13 order. I wonder if this is an issue the Postmaster General can handle. The guy obviously doesn't care about his customers. I emailed him again recently and big surprise, no answer.
-
I feel your pain. I've had an 8 bit Domain 5200 and 2600 mod on order since April 13th. I've tried emailing the guy about 4 times to no avail. The third time I even told him if he couldn't knock my stuff out in the next week, send me a refund or I'd follow up with a Paypal complaint. The guy is a complete rock in consistently not responding to anything. When I ordered, it was a 3-4 week lead time. Supposedly. By the way, has anyone tried his phone number? Don't bother. It doesn't work either. I emailed Longhorn myself not too long ago with a question and I received no reply. I thought he had a good rep too. Good god man I just want what I ordered. Hardly a proper way to do business.
