That screen looks horrid up close... I can stare at my 17" Mag from a mm away and it looks pristine. CRT will always look crisper, from up close, and from farther away. LCD and Plasma is meh compared to CRT up close... sucks
I'm kind of jealous that you have seen it in person. I have only seen it on Youtube. Where did you see it at?
?
They zoomed in, in the video.
TVs don't look that good through cameras anyway, since the pixels on the camera and tv aren't 1:1 and the tv's resolution is much higher than the cameras. Also, its an 85" tv, you're not supposed to sit 2 feet away from it. The only way to tell if it looks good or not is to see it in person I'd guess.

Why do these idiots who review/play VCS games on yT never know how to play a VCS game? You're supposed to eat the food, moron. Read the manual for gods sake
I'm pretty sure that if you "Review" a game on YouTube, you should know how to play the game at least. Good Grief. This video is horrible.

for anything N64 and older, I'd use my CRT. If its GameCube and up, I'll use an LCD for sure, since those kind of games are designed for the use of newer TVs.
While progressive scan and component (VGA in the case of the Dreamcast) helps the situation, it hardly means they were designed for use on modern tv's.
Something like a Playstation 2 is best enjoyed on a SD CRT just like a N64. Even better if the CRT has component connections. You'll never get performance out of a last gen console on a HD LCD and such that would match the picture quality you'd get via a nice SD CRT hooked up via component cables. That goes for the Wii as well.
Yeah, I guess the ps2 would benefit from a crt, but the gamecube, I would play metroid prime, super mario sunshine, and all that on a lcd all day. It doesn't have the resolution, but it still looks good enough for me to play it on a lcd.

something about this thread is making me think "casemod". put a fan in there
.I think I wanna get an astrocade sometime, i've seen videos of it and it looks like it has a ton of fun games. also, Its the only console I know of that has a port of Space Zap!.

All I can say about this is derp. Everything becomes obsolete at some point, and the bigger, better versions come out. Why b*tch about it?
and to that mom, of course companies market stuff so you pay more money. Thats the point. she looks like she thinks that she has that all figured out lol.

The same is for computers. With my newer gaming computer, I'll use LCD, but for my DOS and Win9x systems, I'll use my awesome Trinitron CRT.

D: did any of you see the final boss video on that first link? The amount of sprites going on without slowdown just blew my brains out..... D:

I tried downloading earlier on all my computers that might possibly be able to squeeze by, but its a no go. all my computers are too slow. I'll be trying when I get a better computer, which is this wednesday
. But I've heard tons and tons about this game. -

EA?... *facepalm* (need I say more?)
I actually played the battlefield 3 beta on my ps3, and thought it was a ton of fun, but after all this sh*t I hear about that game I don't think I want to buy it.

Now that I think about it, why no put a NES section here? There is already one for the NES High Score Club--Create a NES section, then move the NES HSC sub-forum to the theoretical NES sub-forum. It won't take up any more space on the Classic Gaming General list than it does now.

Thats a good idea.
-
if there shouldn't be subforums for Atari's competitors and just stick with classic gaming general, then why is there an intellivision, colecovision and sega genesis subforums? why not a NES subforum?

I think that there is a good reason to have a NES subforum. This is THE Atari site to go to, but there are subforums for the competitors of the Atari, such as the Intellivision and Colecovision. The NES competed with the 7800 did it not?
One thing though, I don't really see how the Genesis competed with an atari system, maybe the Jag? but I'd say since there is a Genesis subforum there should at least be a NES subforum.
I would love to see all my NES content in one area, so I don't have to dig for it.
I'm not a fan of NintendoAge that much. from what I've seen its just a clusterfuck of a forum anyway.

I think it would be really cool to have a claymation explosion animation for the enemies, castle, and you. That would be awesome. I like the whole stop motion/claymation art to it.

the pentium D is not a laptop processor, that would be the pentium M
Pentium D is a dual core processor based off of the pentium 4, having 2 dies instead of having multiple cores per die like they do today.

I have the same problem, but my gamecube hates reading discs... I need a new gamecube.

I thought it was fun, I went and just made stuff, thats the point of it.

what about atari E.T.

Sorry had to

I agree with Data Age. At least some LGN games were playable.
Wow, that guy is hilarious!

scan them off your computer

Crisis Force (Famicom)

This game is really fun!

oh my goodness, why did I click quote instead of edit?

It's because old games require reflexes that are lost in modern games.
In most cases, but that's one part that the COD games excel at, twitch shooting.

They're definitely not on that level of horribleness, but they are bad.
