Street Fighter 2 - Sega Master System NEW/SEALED
MantaNZ replied to MantaNZ's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Haha, nope. Just the crappy old SMS control pad, which is one of the worst known to man Graphically it's pretty impressive, TBH and some people rate the gameplay but I couldn't pull off the moves when I emulated it. I'll stick to the 16-bit and arcade versions -
So I have this in my hot little hands... last new one sold for $399 on eBay (2012), apparently. I know it's not Atari, but I'm open to offers before I put it on eBay. It's brand new. There are a few tears in the seal, which is unavoidable as the plastic has been shrinking over the years (and from where the hang tab pushes back against the seal), but everything inside is, well, new! Rare as hen's teeth! I no longer have an SMS, so don't really need it in my collection. Might be open to trade for 3DO & Jag stuff, depending on condition/what it is etc. Cheers, guys!

Hey guys, I have decided to sell my Jag collection. I have a loose console and two controllers, in very good, working order. Comes with AC adapter (US version) and S-Video cable. Oh, console has a custom dustcover I got on ebay too. Has embroidered Jaguar logo. It didn't fit properly, so I had to make two cuts up the back. Gets the job done though. I also have the following games, most are mint but a couple of the boxes have some minor damage from shipping, though it's tough to tell as I keep all the boxes in protective plastic cases. All games are complete unless stated. I can post pics if any interest. It's a bit of a mission as packed away but happy to sort for serious potential buyers. The games are: Tempest 2000 Super Burnout Worms Missile Command 3D Iron Soldier Cannon Fodder Theme Park Pinball Fantasies Ruiner Pinball Troy Aikman Football Evolution Dino Dudes Cybermorph (cart only) Checkered Flag (cart only) If the interested buyer is in Aussie or NZ, I also have a step-down transformer that I will include. Open to offers. I'm guessing 60-70 USD for shipping internationally. Selling my retro stuff to fund my newfound RC car habit. lol. Cheers! Karl.

Neither do I. The heartbeat is well and truly gone before I stuff that delicious meat in my gob

Funnily enough, JRPGs are the only RPGs I like at all. I haven't played many RPGs, I'll admit, but some of my favourite games have been Phantasy Star, Pier Solar and Shining Force 2
-
Yeah I'd need to look into that. I only have PAL systems to test but I'm guessing emulators can help there. I'm currently only learning assembly programming but it seems pretty straightforward (I've been coding games for a while, just not asm) so shouldn't take too long to get to grips with the machine. I figure a JRPG is a good place to start as, programming-wise, it'll be relatively straightforward. Just a lot of stuff to keep track of an loads of art assets and story! Lol. My main goal is to make commercial releases for old systems, particularly C64 and Mega Drive
-
Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm starting to develop for C64 and thought a simple JRPG could be a good idea. Been playing Phantasy Star and the C64 needs something like that! Anyone reckon there'd be any interest?
-
I ended up going with C64. I've set up Relaunch 64 in OS X and am using ACME as the compiler. Works really well! I have a few books but I've found one which jumps into the fun stuff, graphics and sound. Most of the other books are all quite, well, boring. Lol. I like to be able to see stuff working and learn by doing. The book I'm using is called Assembly Language for Kids. Haha. If it's for kids, I must be really stupid! Getting there though. Got the basics down, loops etc. It seems to be easier than I remember C++ being at the beginning. I assume C++ would be easier after learning assembly, too. One funny thing, I always hated pointers. Took me so long to get my head around them. In assembly, it's pretty much only pointers and I really like it! Haha.

Thanks for the replies, guys I've decided to go with C64. It's my all time fave computer, so why not start there? I have a book by Jim Butterfield, which is really good so far. I'd even go so far as to say assembly looks to be a bit easier to learn than C++. So far! Lol. As for C on the Mega Drive, I've messed about with eth SGDK and it's pretty cool but it is lacking in certain areas. Plus, I really want to learn assembly. I really like the idea of getting to know the machine inside and out

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting into retro game dev. I've been a game developer for the last five years and am fairly proficient in C/C++ (although I've used Unity and JS/C# for all of my game projects) but assembly is completely new to me. I understand you need to really get to know the hardware (something Unity doesn't require - lol) and my school of thought was that a simpler machine would be simpler to learn... or is there more to it than that? I was thinking of starting on the C64 and working my way up to 68k asm so I can make stuff for the Mega Drive, but where would you guys suggest starting? Cheers!

Hehe, I already have the SD2IEC but the Ultimate is going to be on the "to buy" list. SD2IEC just isn't compatible enough. I actually spent the cash on an Everdrive (and other goodies), made more sense than the Ultimate, as I'm currently developing a game for Mega Drive

FS: Atari Jaguar Skunkboard II (I have 2)
MantaNZ replied to RGB_Gamer's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Please excuse my ignorance, but what do they do? -
Hi there, I have decided there is no point in me keeping this gem of a game, as I don't have a Colecovision, can't afford one right now, don't want to buy one for one game and want to keep my collecting to C64/Sega stuff... that enough reasons? lol. I thought I'd see if there is any reasonable interest here (I was offered $200 for it end of last year but I stupidly didn't keep an eye on the thread, as I thought I'd get email updates), if not, I'll chuck it on eBay. I'm not in a hurry to sell it and stupid offers will be printed out and used as loo paper, after a massive curry and 18 beers Cheers!

I have an unused, complete copy of this game. Have been offered $200 for it elsewhere here... Let the bidding begin! Lol.

Whoa, so sorry, I didn't realise that this thread had continued. I may be tempted to part with it for $200 if you haven't found one yet. Will grab a pic tomorrow... But will have to think about it... Hmmm... It WOULD buy me a 1541 Ultimate 2
-
Sorry, bit low. Last one on ebay sold for $294.

I have a mint/complete copy. Never played as I don't have a ColecoVision. Lol. I see they have been selling for a fair whack on Ebay,though... What sort of money were you thinking?

Max Vector; Resolution! Breand New 8 Bit Shooter for iPhone!
MantaNZ replied to MantaNZ's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Hi there, I think you'll find everything a bit smoother with the newly released v1.1 update! Autofire is on the cards, as is pause... it was left out for two reasons... VERY difficult to implement in this type of game with the devkit I'm using (trust me, you should read the forums over this one - LOL) and also, now with multi-tasking it's almost redundant... although I will try to incorporate it in a future update. Cheers! -

It'll be 99c, I think. I know what you mean about too many apps! There are some CRapps out there, too! I'm also thinking of releasing an online version for free... and perhaps a standalone Mac binary. This is a shame. Any plans for further optimization to get it working properly on an iPhone 3G? I'm doing what I can. basically, I'm not a coder... I used GameSalad, which is an absolutely incredible tool for game creation for people like me (those who can't code). Unfortunately, it's not the most efficient when it comes to CPU usage. I may put a "legacy" mode in that switches off animations etc for older devices but that will be in an update. I'll probably do an iPad version, too. For anyone interested in making their own games, check out www.gamesalad.com (no, I'm not affiliated with them, it's just AMAZING software!). Oh, I should add, I have had the game translated to German, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese too! -

Definitely thinking about it! Problem is, I use tools that aren't Android compatible so I'd need to start from scratch... I'm waiting to hear from Google about being a beta tester for App Inventor, if I'm successful I'll probably do an Android version :-) -
Hi guys, Being a HUGE retro gaming fan, I thought I'd make my own 8 bit inspired shooter. I give to thee Max Vector: Resolution! Just finishing testing and bug fixes right now but should be available in the App Store soon! Ironically though, it's a retro game but requires at least a 3GS. LOL Here are some pics and the trailer:

Fight Ghost and Goblins on your Colecovision!
MantaNZ replied to youki's topic in Homebrew Discussion
Strange because we both got interviewed a couple of months ago and he seemed still be working on the game... So did he quit or just moved on to another project? (sorry for hijacking the thread) That was the story. And it appeared that it was something he was pretty psyched about... I've had my copy of Ghosts n Zombies for a while now... it's still sealed... I'm too scared to open it. LOL. No point either as I don't have a Colecovision yet!
