Hi all, I have been offered the "opportunity" to purchase for the princely sum of $200 a new-in-box Spectravideo Compumate keyboard complete and a loose Universum variant. They are both PAL models so I could not really use them (well, not without the screen rolling) but I thought they might be good for collectibility. I have seen some loose Compumates come up recently that are going for under $50. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Well, I'll try this again....no one seemed interested in my PAL 7800 Commando, so I'll structure the offer differently: Anyone have a Commando cart only that they would like to complete? Well, here's your chance...that's right, a nice box and instructions for you (and by the way, it comes with a PAL cart, too). email me at landsmarra@aol.com Still lookin' for broncoman, anyone seen him?

Thank you all, that's what I needed to hear. Sean's a stand-up guy...Ive bought lots of stuff from him. CPUWIZ...thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in my back pocket just in case!

It looks like I did make out OK...the same guy is selling another sealed Elevator Action on eBay and it's going for $50 alone! My only problem is I can't get the game to work. See my other post entilted "Help, my Elevator Action is screwed".

Hi all, As I mentioned in another post, I just picked up a sealed copy of Elevator Action as distributed at CGE2001. I opened it today (should I have left it sealed??) and tried to insert it into my deck only to discover that it wouldn't stay in the slot. As it turns out, the plastic housing that covers the top of the cart/protects the board won't retract enough into the cart to allow enough of the ROM board to show to hold it securely in the cart slot. It appears that the board that is inside the cart is too wide...in other words, the two plastic tabs on either side of the inside of the cart can't go down far enough into the cart housing as the width of the board is blocking them past a certain point. The only thing I can think to do is to disassembe the cart to hone down the board. To do this I need to destroy the label. Does anyone know how I can get another copy of the label? Does anyone have another suggestion? I am not sure who at CGE distributed the cart or I would contact him/her. Thanks all again.

Hi all, In my quest for 2600 rares, I won a loose Gas Hog in good condition on eBay for $50. I was all set to pay until I reread the listing saying it was PAL. According to AA, PAL Gas Hogs are easier to come by so I figure I screwed myself. So I decide to email the fellow to see if he had something to substitute. He sent me a sealed copy of 2600 Elevator Action (CGE release, I guess) and a loose copy of Commavid Cosmic Swarm in OK shape. Was that a good trade or should I have stayed with the PAL Gas Hog? BTW, Broncoman, if you're out there, you never gave me a price on the 2 carts you want to sell! Thanks all.

Anyone got any 2600 rares they want to part with??
landsmarra replied to landsmarra's topic in Atari 2600
@ ataripitbull Thanks for the heads-up but that was ME who won the Tax Avoiders and the Condor Attack! I am not really looking for anything in particular other than what I don't already have. Maybe a Tooth Protectors? -

@Ed Sorry, nothing really for sale... -
Hi all, I've been on a mission to acquire some rarer NTSC titles (5 and up on the AA scale). I prefer complete but will consider loose carts depending on rarity. Greedy eBay sellers really piss me off! Yeah, I'm the dummy who recently paid $400 for Quadrun. Some stuff I already have is: Quadrun Crazy Climber Threshold Marauder Tax Avoiders Road Runner Wall Ball London Blitz Stargunner Condor Attack Q*Bert's Qubes Swordquest: Waterworld Glib Death Trap Chase the Chuck Wagon Boing! Tapper Email me at landsmarra@aol.com. Thanks!

Someone said they had a box for Quadrun for sale???
landsmarra replied to landsmarra's topic in Atari 2600
Sorry all, I guess I might have misread the post or my memory is failing as I get older @Cupcakus I already have a kick-ass PDA! -
Hi guys and gals! I think I read in a thread a while back that someone had a Quadrun box available. Let me know at landsmarra@aol.com Thanks!

Hey Brad, I'm currently trying to get a hold of as many 5200 manuals as I can. I have a Sean Kelly Multicart and want manuals for the games. I'll take the siamese manual if you separate it! email me at landsmarra@aol.com to discuss. Steve

Gee, am I the only lucky one out there to have a stock Atari-modified 4-port (you know, the one with the asterisk in the model number)? Everything works on that one. Doesn't sound like the mod is that hard though.

Hi again all. I know this was covered in another thread, but any sign of life from Mr. Cosby? I know he's had a hard time and all but if he can't fill my (or any other) order, at least he can return the equipment I (and others) sent him. I also realize he's had cash flow problems, but I Paypal'd him what I owed him up front so he was using my money to buy goods for my project. The mystery deepens... Steve

@belgarath Hey man, two things. First, I got Tempest to work in MAME .61, thanks. Second, I tried your suggestion to delete the 5200.cfg in file MESS .611 but I still can't get my HotRod or my SNES pad (through DirectPad Pro) to work! Neither do anything at all. Even the keyboard control is wacked. Anyone else having controller problems with 5200 emulation in MESS? Should I use another emulator? It seems numerous 5200 ROMs don't function well or at all. BTW, any suggestion which emu will run a merged Bounty Bob ROM? I realize the bankswitching is the trick there. Thanks again.

Hi again all... I found this item in my condo dumpster complete in box with 4 complete carts/keyboard overlays in boxes. It is an educational minicomputer that came out in the early 80's. Is has a flat panel keyboard and a small LCD screen. It works fine and is a neat little thing I don't think you see too often. Ah, but where to find carts/keyboard overlays for it? I actually found a guy on the 'net who had a couple of carts listed for sale or trade on his website. He still had them and wanted to really get rid of them so he just charged me postage! Nice guy. Thanks to all.

Gentlemen, I too must add my name to the list of folks waiting for products from Tom Cosby Jr. I sent him a 2600 for customization along with about $100. I was getting the unit painted, all new switches, new voltage regulator (a freebie he threw in for my "large" order), the AV modification, one 15-pin controller, two 9-pin controllers and 2 dust covers. I sent it insured for $50 on June 3 to Harrodsburg, IN (dyancey wanted to know where he is). The last communication I received was in August saying I would get a status in "a few days." Future emails from me have gone unanswered. The numerous emails I traded with him during June and July were very friendly and obliging. I guess you all have had as much luck as I have had. I also do not think he's a scam. If so, he went through a lot of trouble to put up the website with all those pictures. Hopefully he can straighten himself out and deliver everyone's product. StanJr and Geo Reese are both reliable people who know Tom and have also been trying to contact him. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Hey guys, that's funny you mention using more than one version of the same emu due to compatibility issues with later releases. I am doing the same thing with MAME. For some reason, Tempest stopped working in the .61 release (some error message about video card support) but it works in .60. So I keep both just for Tempest. Dunno if any other games got screwed.

Hi all, As far as MESS .611 is concerned, I still can't get my HotRod SE or my SNES pad (through DirectPad Pro) to work with the 5200 emulation. I realize the controller setup was changed in .61 (no direct HotRod support) but I had problems even then. Am I forgetting to setup something once I'm in 5200 emulation (tab key)? I have tried to set the controls in a few games but they don't seem to work. My SNES pad works great for 7800 emulation though. Thanks all.

As mentioned in another thread, I have a menu-driven 5200 multicart and love it. I have been trying to obtain instruction manuals and overlays for as many games as I can. Anyone have a good source? 4Jays is kinda high at $3 a manual. I exhausted my cheap source but still need more. Thanks all.
-
That's what I did voiddweller. I had a dipswitch version and when heard about the menu-driven version, my old cart went on eBay and sold for $125.00. It covered the cost of the new one. The only bummer is using the stock stick to run through the games up and down. You have to recenter the stick each time and it gets really annoying. Problem goes away with a Masterplay, Wico or Competition Pro (I have all three) as they all are (or use) self-centering sticks. BTW, I have this 4-way 8-way switchable 2600 stick that I use in 4-way mode for games that only require up-down-left-right. It works great. If anyone's interested, I'll let you know what kind it is.

How do I get downloaded bin files to work on a Supercharger?
landsmarra replied to landsmarra's topic in Atari 2600
Thanks to all that have posted a reply... i shall try it and let you know if I fail BTW, I have modified my SC already so it would work with all the games in the Lee Krueger collection. Is this the mod that was being referred to? Thanks again. -
How do I get downloaded bin files to work on a Supercharger?
landsmarra posted a topic in Atari 2600
Hi again all... Well, my last post was so successful, I thought I'd try again. What I'm after doing is to burn some 2600 bin files (up to 4K only of course) onto a CD ROM and play them on a real 2600 through a Supercharger. Is it as simple as turning the downloaded bins into wav files with Makewav and putting the wav files on the CD ROMS? I own both the Stella Gets a New Brain (Starpath) and Lee Kreuger CD ROM collections and was intrigued by their accomplishments. Any assiatance would be appreciated. -
Does anyone know how to contact Jah Fish or Thomas Jentzsch?
landsmarra replied to landsmarra's topic in Atari 2600
Thank you Mr. Fish and Mr. Jentzsch. I look forward to receiving my copy of Thrust Plus shortly. I thought it was just me! Sorry if the tone of my post was less than anything less than polite. I'll let you guys know when I get it. -

Hi all, it's my first post. Sorry it's not on a more interesting topic... I ordered a copy of Thrust Plus Special Edition for $49 (cart number 30 I believe) back before the summer started and have yet to receive it. I received numerous emails from Mr. Fish about production/shipping delays. I have tried numerous times lately to contact Mr. Fish at the email listed on the Thrust Plus website but have gotten no reply. I even sent a copy of my PayPal receipt as proof of payment to no avail. I appreciate any assistance anyone can provide. Hopefully my next post will be more interesting.
