Point in case..there are so many crooked people out there....what is this world coming too?
I think its because people hear this amazing success stories on ebay, and its now becoming this get rich quick idea, but its really now, most people that make money on ebay do it as their carrer, they spend over 40 hours a week doing it.

I gotta kick this hobby of mine....should I open an Ebay store to go through lets say 15000 games...or should I just keep them? You mentioned ebay needs forty hours...I dont have that much time and I would like to remodel my basement...so the cash could be good and Im sick of paying for a storage unit just to house some games.....
Any specific wants...I posted an add for 300+ loose sega sports titles...I have another 1200 or so sega games...sports and not sports...musha phantasy stat toe jam you name it i got it....

Check this completed eBay auction out: http://cgi.ebay.com/...id=p3286.c0.m14
Am I off base here, or did that go for *way* more than that lot is worth? What would motivate someone to
bid so high on that lot instead of just waiting for the next one? I don't see anything special about it.
Looks like he has several auctions that have been posted for higher than necessary. I hear alot about local computer / game stores posting fake auctions and buying them at no cost...paying the fees and using those prices from an ebay 30 60 or 90 day priceguide and selling same items in storefront....Pretty lame, but it rips peeps off all the time...Hopefully if this was a real auction the person really feels like they got a great deal....
I think quite a few Ebay sellers do that. It's essentially a fool-proof way of getting people to pay higher prices; point to another auction of the same item & just make bidders think it's a fair price.
There was an auction yesterday for a vader 2600. In the line description the seller said a similar vader 2600 went for $160 on Ebay recently. And it probably did. But I suspect it was due to an alt account or a friend bidding the price the up, nothing else. Caveat emptor, I suppose, and the final bid for that auction got nowhere near $160, but I think it's still unbelievably wrong to try fooling people like that.

gamestop is going to end up in trouble sooner or later
Gamestop is not endorsing the PSPgo...if the buy your cards program goes well for sony..Gamestop might be looking for a new deck to play with....Sony has to prove a contendor in this next round of downloadable content gaming generation...Next thing people will be collecting for systems is the prepaid game cards not scratched off...Who Hard Core!
I'm not a fan

I bought a gen 1 PSP....ok well, my wife bought a gen 1 PSP 1000 series for my birthday the day it came out...300 dollars...then that christmas they bundled it with a 1 gig card that my wife also bought me for 100 dollars the day they came out...now with that being said...the psp has done nothing but piss me off every since day one...Will I buy a new pspgo? No not till they can prove to me that they are not just dropping the price thise christmas, two months from now...or just bundling the system because sales are down....I love sony, don't get me wrond, but this PSP system is death of handhelds...for sony they need to get out of it now...

When I managed a Game Crazy, I would take in atari games for trade and sell them as Mario Bros, just to have the vintage stuff alive in my store...then they got lame and made me stop taking anything and everything...I got a jvc x eye through there priced as a sega on etime...
Those were the days

I'm not real sure that anyone has mentioned this or not in any of the threads, but if you have an original atari system and it has never beent taken apart before...you can and will find a calculator adding maching tape paper with one piece of tape on the direct inside of the console after the lid is removed....If you have an atari and it has never been opened..take your lid off and look for this piece of taped calculator paper directly on top of whats inside...
Anyone ever see this before?
'The paper holds the date of manufacture completion...look it up...or see for yourself.."It is true!"
Nothing special about it - and they're in opened ones as well. Just the quality control check date.
Thanks for the clarification....

Holy crap dude.
The AES game shelf makes my wallet cry.... Metal Slug and Blazing Star...
Thanks,
Now you will have a wet Butt!
Ive been collecting Neo stuff from day one..anlong with my 7800 and Jaguar.
I remember paying $199 at Childrens Palace for Ninja Combat...Now it only worth like $30ish
But I got Metal Slug for about $375-$400 now its worth ALOT! Atleast Double!
So it all evens out!
I also have a fair neo geo collection....The Metal Slug....can anyone post a pic of thier personal Metal SLug game...I am curious about the case that mine came in...The case reminds me of a hard case that the Neo Geo Pocket games used to come in....I just wanna compare....This is the only case out of my 40 games that looks different other than my King of Monsters in cardboard and my Raguy in cardboard

Updated the list.

Ok so, that appeared to be a harsh reply....not what I was looking for. I'm not doubting the great Captain Beard...I was merely suggesting, "does anyone have links or proof of Atari statements suggesting the existance of such errors...other than the black tape...." I have a couple thousand Atari games myself and will need to go through them to see if I have any oddities such as these....1 out of 1000 should be an error....at least if they are so common....
What was harsh about it? Do you think the little old lady swapped an endlabel and then sell me the games for next to nothing?

You never know..I know an old lady that took all of my micro machine collection and gave it to goodwill, because she was an old lady....

I have a question regarding the silver Space Invaders cart. Does anybody else have a Silver Space Invaders with a blue text end lable instead of red text like every other Silver cart? I went through my silver carts and this was the only one with a different colored end from all the others. It isn't in the rarity guide, so I thought I'd find out through here.
I've actually got two of these -- one dated 1986 and one dated 1987.
These show up pretty regularly on eBay.
Captain Beard,
How do you determine whether or not these are just labels that have come off of other space invader titles and glued onto the silver labels? I have seen several listings maybe the same auction listed several different times with Mario Bros. for the atari..They have an upside down label suggesting that this is a misprint? Where are the specifics of this ever being the actual case.. I would question a blue ended Asteroids label if the end was blue and the cover label was silver......????
Just looking for clarification....can I take black tape that looks identical to the black strips on several misprints like homerun and just place it over other titles like combat or breakout? How do you prove it? Other than tearing off the label tape hoping the label says XXX underneath?
I prove it by telling you that I got my CIB one from a little old lady in Ventura, CA with about 35 other CIB games, for around $50.

Just the cart. No manual or box.
Also need a price check on Math Grand Prix. Also just the cart.
Thanks
I don't think I ever see cannon man anymore, but I do know it's the hardest to find loose of the Sears titles. Last time I checked it is worth about $30, but that was a couple of years ago.
$30.00??? I just picked one up loose from a local store for $2.00....if you are looking to buy, I would not suggest paying $30.00...the games are out there you just have to loook deep!
If you are selling....I don't think many people would pay $30.00 for a loose copy unless it is pristine and they can not really find it...Good luck out there....

You also may want the seller to clarify if these are PAL or NTSC...
More than likely PAL, but that will work, I bought a PAL Atari years ago from Australia to play Masterbuilder PAL

You can also catch the actual Atari 2600 being played complete with sound in the living room of Threes Company...I do not remember which episode it was, but there is sound and the controllers are being used, but tehre are clearly no wires running from the system conveniently located on the coffee table, to the tv...So how did they get the sound from a tv you cant see?
