  1. My PSN name is LisaEllen, named after my beautiful wife who lets me spend time doing whatever it is I wanna do...sometimes...ok not very often, but when I do get a chance to...

    Chris from Michigan

  2. Mana Khemia 2 has been out for sale for about a monh or so now and I thought I would start a post for it here...seems that Atari collectors are RPG fans as well. I must start first off with saying buy it now...please do no wait. Why would you buy it now? Well, for colelcting purposes if you buy it now you are guaranteed to get the premium boxed edition with nice soundtrack and kinda neat poster inside..this edition is a must for anyone out there other than myself that might collect PS2 games...(if you are into collecting ps2 games you should send me a message sometime)

As for the game play of this title...you get to start the game with the option of being a male character or a female character which proves to add an interesting spin on the said story. This game flows alot like the first game. You get a classroom and an alchemy kult, but first you get dialogue, story, story, dialogue....you get the point... The schools funds are being cut and there is only on emore year of the alchemy in class and this head mistress lady wants the alchemy gone for good...

You will go week through week collecting items for making new mixtures of items and collecting goodies for what they call class time...

My biggest diappointment is that there doesn't seem to be any real meaning as to why you are doing any of what you are doing while playing this game....

Has anyone played this game...? Should I continue to play it in my down time? What is there to look forward to..the fights seem kinda repetitive and there doesn't seem to be anything new to do.

  4. Well as was suggested by atariage members...Destiny Games has been scoped and probed and checked for good deals....

What good deals did I find...

A awesome bright bathroom painted orange and black...?

An over priced dirty intellivision II, marked $79.99?

Intellivision He-Man boxed not sure if it was complete because it was locked in a glass case for $89.99

And several other great deals to boot, but I picked up the following for decent prices...

Atari 2600 Canyon Bomber Sears Text # 8 red label print

Atari 2600 Infiltrate Apollo Blue label 1982

Atari 2600 Shark Attack Apollo Blue label 1982

Atari 2600 Space Cavern Apollo Blue label 1982

Atari 2600 Space Shuttle Activision Presents blue label 1983

Atari 2600 Submarine Commander Sears Tele games Picture label 1982

Intellivision Super Pro Football Box and manual

Intellivision Mind Strike Complete Nearly new

Intellivision Loco Motion Complete Nearly new with Intellivision advertisement for games inside

Intellivision Buzz Bombers Complete Nearly new

All these for less than $60.00

Not bad overall...the store has a smooth square feeling to it with Big Screen tv's set up off to the right side...out of the way for game purchasing space..the games were nearly all boxed for every system as if they prefer the boxes...atari games did not have boxes though...I met the owner and shook his hand then I left sort of pissy because the guys working kept suggesting that they had so much more for sale but it was in the back room...I aboslutely have to say I don't hate anything more in life than the fact that a store associate can tell me he knows what I am looking for and the only stuff they have in the back is not it, but they won't let me see it...absoultely hate it..I even told them that I drove 2 and a half hours to get there and they still shoved me off without showing me more....

Overall, it was worth my time to drive there just to check it out....what do they have left? Not much unless you like to spend bookoo bucks for overpriced misc items....the owner did tell me he could order me some brand new off brand atari controllers..."They work better than the orignals!" he says?

Hmmm.....until I find another venture...so long...if you have been to this store, please do share your experience..the guys that were working seemed to know a lot about halo 3...in fact they were having a Halo 3 tourney as I was there....store was filled with young kids not buying anything....I kept saying "Halo 3, the greatest game on earth!"...oh and the store did have what they thought to be the complete system history in pictures wrapped around the upper rim of the outside wall in the store...kinda neat to view....

  5. Even the old AMC has one vendor who deals with retro stuff, well they had one until she got greedy and her prices went through the roof. ($100 for a loose Game Gear!? Come on!)

Thats rediculous! Whenever I see vendors with stuff like that I just laugh and keep moving. There is a vendor like that at our Gibraltor Trade Center, who has had all of the same over priced shit for years, I honestly dont understand how he is still there, or why he bothers coming in, no one buys the shit.

The guy at Gibraltor is a tool..i've confronted him face to face on several occassion...Why doe she stay? Rent is dirt cheap and alot cheaper than having a brick and mortar of his own...His pricing...? Where does he get it? Who knows Who cares...if you go in there when he is not there and haggle the worker the worker will cave...I have a friend that just bought some games from there that were marked forty and the guy gave him the games for 16 bucks a piece....

So moral to the story is that guys prices are not set in stone...if you are reading this and you are the guy that owns that market please do send me an email suggesting that you read my message so we may talk about this matter in cyberspace..

    Thanks,

    Chris

  6. Thanks for the link to that site. It is rather interesting.

I still like Atari2600.com's priceguide. I think it shows a fair market value for the ones they were able to find for auction in single lots. The videeogamepricecharts one is interesting, but it has me paying more for an Oscar cart for the 2600 than an Atlantis 2 cart for the 2600. LOL

Any day of the week... I'll pay $26 for an Atlantis 2

Thus the good deals begin and I keep spending maybe 20 bucks a week and getting good stuff...

  7. So, do you run, have business dealings with, are associated with, or have anything to do with that site so that promoting it or directing traffic towards it would bring you some type of personal gain even if it's not directly? :ponder:

Chicky if we are talking about the poster of this topic Chris I would say as far as i know he does not.

I know Chris and he is a pretty good guy i see or talk to him a every few months or so unless this something new i will say he has nothing to gain.

As Jboy has suggested...we do know each other in real life and sure I have a lot of games, but I work for a financial institution, not a web programming site...I am just really annoyed that a business owner will go into business to sell video games and not even know the basics of a video game or pricing....When you ask an associate at gamestop about old games...they dont know anything...ask your local gamestop who Rob the Robot is...they freak out? No clue....Local game owners are sometimes knowledgable so I wanted to bring this topic up for those atariage members that might be video game store owners...I have a degree in business and I could successfully run and manage a business, I personally would never rely on this online database that changes from month to month or week to week or day to day...I do not live in China...I live in the USA and prices should be based on a rarity and availabilty...not some yahoo selling it on ebay...no offense to any of the above parties...

    Thanks for the compliment Jboy

  8. So, do you run, have business dealings with, are associated with, or have anything to do with that site so that promoting it or directing traffic towards it would bring you some type of personal gain even if it's not directly? :ponder:

I have no direct contact with this site nor do i have my own my own video game store...I am just sick of local game stores that try to basically rip off the customers just to turn a profit of up to 300 to 400 % sometimes.

  9. I mentioned in an earlier post that there were several video game stores that I frequent around Michigan and the states surrounding. I have been learning that several of these stores have no idea what to charge for thier games and may be loosing bigger than they think. Especially when I come in and buy the good ones because they have them priced too cheap...

Do you think it is a good idea to pay a quarter for an old atari game and sell it for gobs more being a business owner? I think that is good for the business man, but not really good for the consumer when they see you paid them a quarter and you are selling the same item for an overinflated price....

So many people are getting ripped off by this system and there should be a universal solution. Obviously you do not sell your classic games to the local mom and pop shop that uses this website for price guidelines, but how do you inform the general public? I have been flaggin craigslist, buying any and all I can before the people take their goods to local shops, but there just isn't enough...some how people are still trading in things like Frankenstien's monster for a quarter and it makes it to the shelf..I found this game and told the sales guy I would pay him fifty cents...he said he didn't own the shop so he sold it and I ended up picking up 40 more...I'm going back to buy the whole lot even commons when I can next week....

  10. This auction reminds me of the NES games I need to finish off teh NES american collection....I need Hot Slots...Peek a Boo poker...Bubble Bath Babes and the world champt cart both colors.....the auctions are insane for these....I just keep picking up doubles and boxes for the ones I already have instead of finishing it off...

  11. In the twin cities, the mall kiosk classic game traders have premium prices. The highest I saw was a Flashback 2 console(in a store, not a kiosk) used for 50 clams. Loose carts were like 7 bucks, but only up to Atari 2600.

Meh. I will stick to Discland. Oddly they have boxed Odyssey 2 games, but zero Vectrex games, and I bought all of their CV(both) games.

Well, i must say Discland looks sweet online

  12. So I have this friend...I like to send him picture messages whenever I find something new out in the wild of an older game or system. Sometimes I get old stuff like Atari games or just the occasional sega genesis game...Either way..his response is always like, dude where did you get that? They don't even sell that stuff anymore...Him and I are the same age and we played games for several years together in our youth. Is he a gamestop fanboy or does he just not get out much..?

I can name a dozen stores if not more in Michigan alone....and he doesn't know of a single one...Should I share my hidden stah locations with him or keep them to my self?

I can get sega genesis cases for a buck, games and cases together for 2 bucks sometimes...Just picked up sega Sesame Street Countdown for two bucks and three master system games for 3 bucks a piece yesterday....

I love hunting for games....its the only thing to do in your spare time other than play them maybe...

  13. I would say to the average atari collector mario is not a hard find and not valued very high, but is it complete...does it have the manual and what label variation is it? All that can make a cart go for more...

And the younger kids are probally trying to collect it as well...good point

  14. Well, This seems to be a topic that might need to be talked about...The PS3 came out with the ps2 backwards capability...gamers were happy playing the ps2 rpg's taht were still coming out.. Now of course you all know, Sony took that away....The ps2 sales of rpg's remains there to consumers, but I feel that the 360 took RPG's that were scheduled to be released as possible PS2 titles since they are of similiar format and the PS3 got hosed....Good luck with the RPG games on the PS3.

Mana Khemia 2 has no play value....Cross edge was a fighting frenzy to level your characters and that took away from the story...the character mix was good to see, but the graphics...hmmmm....so many more to talk about...

  15. No one's interested in the Final Fantasy games? I though those would go quick...

    Chris

With all the emulation and kids playing final fantasy remakes of the japanese releases, NO ONE KNOWS OR SHOWS THAT THEY CARE ABOUT ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFULLY DONE GAMES of its time next to the innovation of Donkey Kong Country on the super nintendo, plus the price is too high.....for a very common game

    Sorry,

I checked out the fairchild games...not bad, but both are broken?

    Thanks,

    Chris
