  1. You can either itemize your collection with individual values or you can insure the entire collection for a any given dollar value... In some cases you will need to do both. So for example your house burns down, then whatever amount you insured the entire collection for is what you will get... but if someone stole one or two items, the individual values will be assessed. But NEVER insure the items for "replacement value" as that does not take into account the collectibility, they will asses depreciation values to it and according to them, a 25 year old game or computer is worthless. But as others have mentioned... as long as you can prove you had the item and what the going rate is for an item, most renter's insurance will cover it.
  2. There have been many platforms that have had changes to the cpu or sytems that access that cpu in the past, yet the base architecture has remained the same... like the Comodore 64. However, these subsets (in most cases) did not put them in more demand than the others and in no case that I am aware of, did a system become collectible while that architecture was still in use. There are always exceptions to the rule, but those exceptions are usually systems that take a radical departure in design or asthetics from the norm... such as the Commodore SX-64 or the Compaq Portable 386. Again this is just my personal opinion.
  3. Won't be classic until the x86 architecture is no longer used.
  4. As others have stated, that's just a JcAir 429 adapter... it interfaces to a ASI-2000 mainframe for avionics instrumentation testing. There were many companies that produced similar interfaces for the same system. The only thing that makes this "rare" is that not many were produced and the company no longer exists. But, rare and collectible are two different things and there aren't many people that would collect it. Not saying it isn't a neat thing, but it is just more of a curiosity in an Apple collection than an anchor piece in a collection.
  5. Thanks, Erik! Great to see you back, by the way ... it's been a while! No problem! Yeah, sorry I have been scarce... I have just been working on an Indie zombie film production and training for a triathalon. Things are finally slowing back down to a normal hectic pace.
  6. Have it swabbed for DNA... chances are still good that I licked it at one point in time in its hiistory But seriously, when I saw my bid eclipsed by a doozey my first thought really was "Cmart, doh!" I really didn't think I stood a chance... but I have NEVER seen one of these come up for auction (has anyone else?)... I promise I won't bid if another one ever surfaces (I'd have to sell my kids to fund a 2nd one anyway). Thank goodness for Jay's multicart or I never would have been able to play this or Zero In.
  7. I am looking for the July, 1983 issue of Electronic Fun with Computers and Games magazine. Paying top dollar... Will pay $10-15 + shipping for it... there is an article in it I want to scan in high res.
  8. Indeed you were I'll let you know how it smells and tastes as soon as it arrives! Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha! (shakes my fist to the heavens cursing you for making me bid so high) CMART-KAHN!!! (I kinda figured it was you) **Does the "All I need now is Zero In to have every Aquarius cartridge" dance (avert your eyes or it will burn in)** Did the Tron I had sent to you never arrive? You said you just bid on one... if it didn't let me know since that was part of that big trade we made and I don't want to leave you short changed.
  9. Thank you! Yes, the front cover is the only part that I need, at 300 DPI. I was able to "doctor up" the remainder of my present copy, but the cover art is much more difficult to fix. (A box scan would be wonderful, too, but that isn't essential.) Thanks again! Here are some scans of mine for you at 300dpi
  10. Just completed a deal with him... awesome guy with super spify toys! Communication was top notch and shiping was speedy!
  11. I'm not AWOL I just approve submissions once a week... So I guess that means my third Vectrex S/N I just entered on your site will be added next week? I'll take your word for it brother. I just went ahead and OKed it now. There are two reasons I do not have the entries automatically show up on my site. The main reason is people that try to put profanity or spam ads for crap like viagra in the form fields... the second reason is duplicate or erroneous entries. For every valid entry there are 10 or more spam entries. Since I run a few dozen other websites besides Geek Vintage, I have to spread my admin time out so I only get around to submission approvals about once a week.
  12. I'm not AWOL I just approve submissions once a week...
  13. That is the most likely reason, but the sellers clearly state that it takes months to ship. I have never been dissapointed by any of the sellers down there, especially eightiesvault.
  14. Eightiesvault is an awesome seller, I have purchased multiple times from him. If you don't mind the wait, you will always get quality stuff from him... his pictures show exactly what you will get.
  15. They play pretty well. I think it is worth the $20... but that may be the collector in me... I have almost every Jakks Pacific TV Plug and Play that features vintage games.
  16. How is it? I just saw these at Fry's and was interested. $25 there, I think. Maybe they were $20. It is pretty good... I like the space invaders, some of the other games don't seem too good to me.
  17. Now that he has some good pics of it posted in the new auction... it looks like a herd of llamas sat on it then used it as a pass-around napkin. I'll be suprised if it tops $175-200 for that particular copy. Tho they are extremely rare in the wild, condition means a lot too.
  18. Good eye! Yup, that is a Passport Magazine hiding on the last image on that auction... soooooo tempting!
  19. That is very impressive. I seriously love your project. Great work Speaking of great projects... did you finish all of your gaming cabinets?
  20. Sweet! Do you have a link to the expo kiosk available? SInce I'm your biggest fan, $1 for me and at least a couple hundred for everyone else
  21. Holy crap Batman! That was an awesome score. The Burgertime cart is easily worth the total you paid.
