  1. Nice work! I always found the controls in Q-bert frustrating... the joystick control just isn't intuitive, but I guess this is like the arcade? (I never really got much into Q-bert, and after throwing the joystick down after Q-bert jumps into thin air when I just want him to go "up", pretty much soured me on this game.)

  2. It's been almost two and half years since some of us sent some money to Candle. Has anyone heard anything from him about this? I do know he's been quite busy and had other projects on the go as well, but there's been pretty much radio silence on this particular project from him from what I've seen.

I suppose it should be viewed as a "donation" by now?

  4. Will you implement R: Internet support like APE has? That seems more useful and standard, as the type of extension you are speaking of would only be in your app (unless it gets implemented as a standard of sorts and other people pick it up too.)

Not that I'm trying to discourage you at all!

  5. What makes bataribasic or 7800basic better than the options we have for the 8-bit already? We have tons of languages, basic, C, Pascal, assembly. It seems like what we really need are prepackaged engines and maybe some editors... and tutorials.

The Lynx is a machine that could use a port of 7800basic!

Maybe I'm way off base, and I admit I know almost nothing about bataribasic an 7800basic. :)

  6. One thing that confused me, reading this and your other thread: you end your program by jumping to DOSVEC, instead of just exiting normally? Doesn't that leave some addresses on the stack? (taking up a few bytes)

Just wondering, I have no experience with Action, and haven't written much for SpartaDOS, but I assumed most programs were just exiting via RTS at the end (I believe cc65 does this and I haven't seen any issues running programs in Sparta.)

PS. I've had thoughts of writing a SpartaDOS library like this for cc65... if I ever get around to it, this will help a lot!
