Not mine but a really cool Odyssey 2 peice. For those of you who love this system it would be a very cool peice to have. Odyssey 2 World Fair pin Not mine eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140382576036
-
Ya i showed him too. He isnt happy. Hopefully he still signs my odyssey. He hates that though. And who can blame him
-
Exactly. Profiteers like this destroy the hobby. If it was a collector theyd love it for a few years than resell it to another collector, maybe for a fair mark up. Than someone else could love it. not this. this is taking a beloved system an pillaging people for profit. Its bull
-
I dont mind a profit. Its not like he bought it from some little old lady who didnt know the value. He bought it from a respected odyssey collector who knows what stuff id worth. Then tries to mark it up $5000. thats a little much. And trooper I agree but He has probably seen alot signed over the years. If it isnt damaged after 5 years most of the chemicals from the ink will be gone anyway. so there isnt much concern there
-
Im not saying he is a chemical engineer, but he knows more about odyssey stuff than you. He says the metal the carts are made from wont be hurt by signing than i beleive it. Plus mine was signed many years ago and no noticable damage has made itself known so im sure its fine.
-
Of coarse he did. How else would he corner the market. Im still very glad mine slipped through.

I know he was mad that i bought games signed by him. But i didnt buy them because they were signed i just wanted them. Signed is a bonus. Sorry, but why exactly would anyone want a bunch of Odyssey games with the connectors coated in what is likely a corrosive substance from a Sharpie? Why didn't you just have Mr. Baer sign a separate piece of paper or maybe the outer shipping box or something? Also, why would anyone want all the games signed? I still can't understand why you were even involved in the original transaction and how you didn't just get the games sold directly to your friend instead of running them through this middle man profiteer. Finally, nobody is ever going to pay $7,000 for that set, particularly since many of those games aren't even in mint condition. As far as I'm concerned, these signed carts are worth less to me and probably most collectors than a true mint set. Its hard to explain the situation. The person buying them was a good friend of his who fixed my odyssey. He didnt have the money at the moment and i was trying to be nice. Teaches me doesnt it! I should have bought them myself. As for signed game carts they are just interesting. I highly doubt sharpie will do any long term damage to the cards. The reason i dont have most of mine signed is the fact that i like to play them. I do have the ultra rare nr12 signed. Do you really think that the sharpie could damage the games? I like it though. And I know noone will buy them its just the deception that makes me so mad I know for a fact Sharpie can damage metal. It contains sulfur and other chemical compounds which are known to be corrosive to metal surfaces. In fact, aerospace contractors for the government generally have rules in place for their engineers banning Sharpies from manufacturing areas for this very reason. There are companies which sell very expensive non-corrosive permanent markers for use on metal. I dont think im too worried. I asked David Winter and he said it wont damage these carts. Either way thats not the point. Its the fact that collectors who love the system will want these but not at 1500 a game. He is out of his mind Then he lies and says there are only 3 sets. This definately isnt true. I know of at least one here on these forums and 3 on the retro roundtable forums. I know david winter has a set and another collector in europe. That makes a minimum of 6.

I was the one that tracked down and found these games. I found them for him because he was going to sell them cheap to a friend that fixed my odyssey for me. He paid 900 with shipping for the set. the signed games he Bought from Ulf Svensson for no more than 150. He had the full set of 11 signed but i have 9 10 and 12 in my personal collection. He is just greedy. Even on his own sales he charges 3000 for the games of 73 600 for 72 and 50 for percepts. Baer is awesome but not worth 3400 for his signed games. I like the games being signed but im also going to have him sign my odyssey. But unlike this guy its for my personal collection

Here is a new posting on ebay. This makes me mad because this set was supposed to go to a friend that wanted them and instead he is trying to make rediculous money off them. Am a wrong or is this beyond ludaris eBay Auction -- Item Number: 230434281540
-
Why would you want a pong when you could have the originator of all home videogame consoles. It doesnt get much better than the Odyssey
-
ya i hope so too. Ive been bidding on them all. Hopefully we can take some from him.
-
You/we have a right, but it doesn't help anything. i do agree but hopefully through education the market will be fixed. The prices i have to pay to aqcuire odyssey stuff kinda makes me mad. Oh well. Like i said he has every legal right to do it but i still say its ethically wrong. But to each their own
-
Not mine. One of the nicer sets ive seen wander by ebay. Hoping one of us can win this one. It has its original wrappings and shipping box eBay Auction -- Item Number: 170440150133

Im still interested in this. ha ha. We know that its cool to have a monopoly on the odyssey market
-
Dont be surprised that he won. He wins them all. He is sitting on way too many. And i agree with the point to leave him alone but because of his greed noone else can get one at a reasonable price. Free will also equals our right to Complain about it
-
I know where you get your info because you got it from me. And what private sale exactly sold for $200. I keep pretty close track of some of these things. I know one just sold for $150, but to who? The item isnt worth a starting bid of $300. The information i got from the seller who told me they were going to throw it in the trash but "Someone" offered them $150 in cash. David winters quote of 250 is for one in mint condition. Not in this condition. Pray tell Who told you to put it with a case? Me Correct. I do know what im talking about
-
So this item was on ebay like a week ago. The seller thought it was trash and was going to throw it out. because a few people offered them cash sales they decided to bump up the starting bid. Why i have no idea. This item isnt even worth this in mint condition let alone like this. What has happened to the odyssey eBay Auction -- Item Number: 310198083811

Thanks for keeping an eye out. This auction makes me feel a little better about the 50 I spent on mine a few years ago. The only things mine is missing is the football yardage marker, the actual football looking piece, the dice, and a couple poker chips. Ya thats a good price. I paid $100 fo mine. Missing a few things but had percepts. I since completed it. For around $500 I have a 100% CIB odyssey, case, Shooting gallery(which is missing stuff), 6 games of 72 complete in shipping box, and some other neat things like nr12 and the 75 service manual
-
Oh look what a miracle suprise Dick won this one too. And at a personally rdiculous price to begin with. At least he diddnt get it super cheap. What an ass. And look in the last 5 seconds. he once told me he would bump the bid up like $100 in the last second to gaurentee a win. And in this case for one that wont bring much profit. Even if he completes it it has no inspection card with it so it lowers the value. this guy just wants noone to have them but his

Selling a couple parts of my collection on ebay. Odyssey+
Odysseus replied to Sylentwulf's topic in Auction Central
Ha ha i posted about the odyssey. Dam youll make alot on that. I paid less for my 1972 With percepts Nice sale. Way above its normal value. Lucky you. Of coarse you know who got it. What a shocker -
they look a little different but they do work the same. Ill keep my eyes out and try to find you a switch box By the way this auction is at 107.50. Wow its a 1973 unit. its barely worth that complete in its box ha ha

He has also moved on ROBs and yes the 2600, mainly he heavys. I mean he even wants 900 for the odysssey 100-500. Something loose i think. Vectrexs are even worse. They show up even less often than the odysseys and he is always on top of those. Its a little rediculous. Whats even more upsetting is he isnt even a collector. He doesnt care about the systems only money. Its sad really
-
Thats what im saying. I used to be friends with him and he sent me a picture of his stock. He has a REDICULOUS amount of pongs and odysseys. Its messed up. But still look at all the ones selling now and he is bidding on them all. I wish people would stop buying from him. Mayber he'd learn
