HA! I thought it was only my Snes that did that!

They are not expensive, and are worth it. They pop up on Ebay often. I have one in the box with instructions... got it when it first came out, £35 - £40 if I remember correctly (ouch!).

Well, I posted earlier today in the "are you a collector or gamer" thread and mentioned I go through stages of playing something then shelfing it for months. The Amiga 1200 was the current thing... Now its 23:38 and I have a serious urge to bust something else out... whats it gonna be... I'm really leaning towards the Lynx for a good session on pac-land, or perhaps chips challenge... though if chips challenge comes out I can see it being a late night, and then theres finding 6 batteries to power it, hmmmmmmmm.

I would class myself as both... I go through stages of playing something then loosing interest and moving on to the next thing, but I could never bring myself to sell any of it. I do have a Jaguar in mint condition, boxed with manuals and another brand new sealed controller which I have no games for... so I have never used it. But I could never sell it. My lynx is boxed with instructions and warranty card and games too... I have had many hours of joy from that, though it's safely tucked away in a cupboard at the moment. My amiga 1200 made an appearnce about 2 weeks ago and I bought a few new bits for it, HD cable, more floppies and like... Used it alot recently though I must admit its dying off again and will probably be put away again in another 2 weeks for me to fetch out something else... perhaps the dreamcast, or perhaps I should buy a couple of games for the jaguar... or maybe get out the lynx... we shall see.

*tumble weed blows by* I take the lack of reply means this is a stupid question and all games were supported.

Were all 2600 games compatable with the 2600 jr? May be a daft question, but I am sure I heard/read some were not.

*kicks self in teeth* SNES and Megadrive were 16 bit... Don't know what I was thinking there. The point I was making about the Phillips CDI was it used CD format, and was released in 1991. That was ahead of its time... I can't say for sure if the MegaCD was before or after that? Back to the Dreamcast... When I was at school a few friends had the N64, only 1 had Dreamcast and the rest were like me who had the Playstation. The friends with the N64 used to mock and call it the "Greystation".... Ah good times. NEC's Turbo Express? What is that? Don't know if they were released here in England? *does a quick google search* Oh man, that looks cool! Still can't recall that being in England... I am sure I would have known about it. Finaly back to the Lynx... Ok, portability, and battery life (the fact it needed 6 of the bugers too)... I can understand that. But I still really belive that thing is a great handheld and should have been a sucess. Shame.

Made me chuckle that, but true! I must also admit I bought the Dreamcast in the last 7 years And I must also say I was one of the people who followed the masses... but in recent years I realized the error of my ways and colleted the Lynx, Jaguar and Dreamcast... I understand the Jaguar didn't have the impressive libary other consoles had, but it could have so very easily been different. The games for the CDI were very sketchy, coupled with a strange controller But I would like to add one to my collection at some point in the future, with all the Zelda collection (have you seen the price of some of those Zelda games!?!?!)... even though they were no "Link To The Past". And finaly on to tetris... I am sure that matching blocks up to fit in and make a row vanish was around before Gameboy... I may be wrong?

And destined to fail! Today I have been photographing some of my computer collection, which got me thinking... How come these great systems failed. Atari Lynx is one of the first that springs into mind. Colour screen, backlit and yet the gameboy won the war. As I am sure you are all aware there's many more systems like this that were better than the rival but just failed to make the sales. Jaguar yet another one, the rivals were 32 bit while this system was a 64 bit no less! Sega dreamcast with online play (though I am sure being able to easily play copied games was one of its downfalls). The Phillips CDI was another revolutionary beast, again a failure. The list goes on... The way I see it is that most good things ahead of their time are set to flop... I wonder where we would be today in terms of technology if it was the other way around. On a final note to my rant; anyone seen the Amiga Joyboard for the Atari systems? I am sure you will have! That thing is soooo Wii fit from the 80's (though not as technical), I wonder how many were officially sold? I bet it wasn't alot.

A long shot, and I may very well get flamed for this... Does anyone have a cuttle cart they are willing to sell?
