  1. It's up. hopefully better managed now
  2. The characters displayed are encoded to the particular language that the TOS is burned in the ROMs. So to get proper British keyboard layout, you need British ROMs, American keyboard layout you need US ROMs. Only Atari Falcon has international keyboard layout (only a few countries).
  3. I was in Dallas, Texas like 15 years ago, for a couple of months job posting. I logon to the AUNT BBS back then, but failed to attend any of the Atari Club meetings at Dallas. I think they were on infomart or something like that. Wish I went and experience what's it's like. Anyway I am back in Asia now, so posting your stuff across the pacific may proof too expensive.
  4. I'm going to backup my Disney vacation photos & videos when i get home tonight.
  5. Well done..... the wait was surely fulfilling & well worth.
  6. best to get v8.23 and above. IIRC, there was some issues with lower v7.
  7. Yes, the seems to be compatible and interchangeable. I interchange my STFM keyboard to my Falcon and TT, works great. Just that I have no STE so do not want to say it's compatible just in case that 0.00001% chance it is not. And true that bad contact is an issue for 15 year old hardware. My mouse port contact for one is one of them. I even had the mouse wires breaking in the middle, so it the wire goes a particular angle it works. All part and parcel of it.
  8. The 250host hosting company still uses an ISP - BT or Orange etc... Is there a way to find out which and ask the ISP if they are gone? Just thinking aloud... LOL may be the 251st site went in and it crashes... LOL
  9. But where... oh where is that CT63 upgrade ?
  10. Option 1. Been waiting since last year... so what's a couple more weeks between Atarian.... We are all use to this anyway, just like while waiting for hardware upgrades and such.
  11. yeap... there a huge amount of information on this cheapo MIC SD-card reader on www.Atari-Forums.com (it's down now) as well as the version that does master/slave.
  12. yeap, it's a free world and one uses what ever OS they thing suit them best. I can install Apple OS, Linux flavors, Window and even Solaris x86. Just chose one best for what & how you want to use.
  13. Check the schematics of both MST & MSTE. I know that MST & TT keyboards are suppose to be compatible. Not sure of the MSTE. See if you can see the difference in wires. For example the TT keyboard does not have a reset line.
  14. Nope. no dice. I even tried http://www.hostpapa.ca/ as Google returned that & said it's a Canadian company (huh?) Anyway only thing I came up positive is this http://www.hostingsthatsuck.com/hostpapa-sucks/ It's quite a good laugh. Not sure if that coupon thingy still works.
  15. Hey ! Nice touch... thanks for status update on AF. I was totally surprise... a pleasant surprise... to see a page coming up instead of the usually "This webpage is not available." However, I got the "This webpage is not available." on http://www.hostpapa.co.uk/.
  16. I tried another Unix... OSX to be exact.... on my Intel PC. It detected all my hardware as well as the wireless. The wireless needed an driver to work properly on WinXP, but was flawless on OSX default driver. Anyway, ppl are staying on Windoze for games. So not reason for me to stay on OSX as well, swapped back to my <replace whatever game I was playing back then>.
  17. Yeah... and while at throwing stuff in...threw like 20 or more lines containing "I will buy a FireBeest". I am sure you be lucky enough to pick that one first.
  18. I have seen it & IIRC, they put a small httpd or router app on it. My phone runs linux.... Android to be exact. Not too smooth.... iPhone is smoother... I mean the UI.
  19. You're aware that you can boot Linux from a 1.44MB floppy, right? my colleagues was wowing (is there such a word?) the thin Apple Air notebook and mentioned that it's so thing because most stuff are soldered directly onto the mobo... even the memory. Yeah so much for new technology. The ST had memory soldered to the mobo and when they were born, compared PC thickness, ST are thin. Just like what apple is to PC today. Yeah I know, they are still around & the company are now bigger while Atari is no more. And try booting Linux without a floppy.... ST can, right? Soooo much for new technology.
  20. And that normally means never gets done...
