  1. There is no need to sent it back. The instructions to update the hardware are on the release notes.
  2. Easy. Just format a Fat32 SD and place the firmware file on to it. Place SD in to the device. Power up.
  3. Yeap, I know. I hope it's as easy as just restoring from the backup. Hope not much damage done.
  4. Hey Charles. So you have more time now at hand to do your programming stuff instead of having flames war eh? Glad that you're still enjoying your programming. I'm still having a whale of a time mucking about with STFM, looking at my old stuff. Hope that Atari-forums will be back online soon.
  5. It will work on the ST. Just need to switch around one of the wires - either x or y pins - you can easily look it up on the web.
  6. From what I remember on my Mega STE, there was a cache setting on the CPU. I can't find my benchmarks from my old backups (may be it will turn up some day) so I can't tell you if it is 2x the speed of an ST. The main memory are not FastRam just normal ST speed I guess.
  7. They still do, now & then. But my fully loaded TT will fly to anyone willing to fork out €600 for it. Like you say, just watch out for the freight forwarding charges
  8. Oh... forgot to say... my TT has a 68882 copro as well.
  9. Still not up yet... last week till now. Anyone knows MUG UK email address?? Does he needs help?
  10. How about windows 3.11? That is still 16 bits.
  11. Ahh.... that was like 16-17 years ago. I was posted to the US for a while & got it second-hand to use during my stay there. So I checked some of my programs that I developed while in the US, and I wrote down the specs of the machine I used as a 4Mb Tos 2.05 Mega STE with 170Mb HDD. I sold it because it was difficult for me to bring back to Asia. Yeap... an MSTE I had. LOL... I need to update my webpage now.
  12. After 20 plus years, most plastic will tend to be brittle. So handle with loving care....
  13. Another issue will the that most of the s/w will be in German, unless you read it, most will be unknown.
  14. It was 16MHz, had an HDD in a TT like casing. OMG! I had an MegaSTE and I sold it ! Kicking myself now....
  15. Have a look at my sig to see the specs of my TT. Would you pay €600 it? And add your postage to from Asia to US to that amount. Compare it with Best, where you pay $600 for a TT with 4MB ST ram, no graphic card & smaller HDD?
  16. Really i have bot seen any PSU schematics even for the ST. The schematics of Atari hardware just shows the pinout to the PSU. You can actually use a PC PSU for the Atari, all voltages are there.
  17. Depends on which country you're from. Over here are plenty.... still..  But I don't mind certain parts being bigger
  18. Ought to still be available. Just sent Alan an email.
  19. The symbol is stored in TOS. If you have a German Tos, it will come out the German money symbol. The keyboard just sents the GDOS ASCII position that will translate to ASCII code. I mention GDOS ASCII because I remember reading somewhere that states there is some difference between it & ASCII. Anyway, think of it as coordinates where the key is pressed. This is sent to the computer and it figures that the particular coordinates produces a particular symbol. The symbol, how it looks like, is hardcoded in the TOS. So you have to replace the German TOS with US TOS or British TOS. IIRC,the British TOS has hoth the £ and $ symbol. You also need to change the keyboard keycaps to represent the symbol you want.
