  1. Besides Circus Convoy there is Casey´s Gold (developed by one of the former Activision guys) - a freight train game which is similar in quality, gameplay and fun! but we don´t hear about it for months! it seems it has not been released yet.
  2. I am hoping for Brazil to hop on the international list on the site as it´s one of the 3 largest Americas territory and there are thousands of fans here too.
  3. I am all excited to the 2600 comeback! Finally (even though the way it did, not using the real chips, not a 100% ressurection). Just like the Atari 2600 has 7 elements that make up its games, I have 7 reasons to love it: 1- Nostalgia 2- Desire to keep the grand daddy of consoles alive (Atari 2600) 3- I honestly love the LEGO like blocky graphics beginning with the playfield ones which are the biggest! to me it looks like LEGO pieces that you build with 4- I love the 128 color palette they chose for the system! 5- love the simplistic iconic look of all the art assets on the screen... because they give space to your imagination a lot of times. 6- It is a lot easier to draw graphics for the system from a Dev perspective since you´re working with its popular 160x192 display res. 7- Easier to develop sound and music for since you only have 2 channels to worry about. Extra: I don´t even have to use a programming language to make me a working Atari-esque game! (I don´t know how to code) I´m an audio visual artist, so I use the non coding Clickteam Fusion 2.5+ instead to make games as can be seen here: https://aloan.neocities.org/atari_graphics_simplified

  7. oh sure thing on the patience! I honestly do not know how to code at all. I make games without programming on the Clickteam Fusion 2.5 program. I am here because I´m an Atari 2600 fan exclusively and I love all it´s visual limitations (yes the LEGO-like visuals) the simplistic gameplay and the wizardry gone into making the game happen, but I do not have the memory to retain programming studies or any other studies at that, lol. I also suck at math. Good luck on your endeavor though!
  8. Some more playfield mockups I´ve made
  9. I'd love it to have the original Taito Tarzan character with the blonde hair to make it even funnier. I can draw the Tarzan sprites if one of you needs it, just let me know either here or on aloan.1@hotmail.com

If it is a pirate, then it is a pirate of the official one named: Nightmare! developed by Sancho... interesting, I never ever heard of such game neither of such company, but that´s what I found out on the net. At this time of writing, I´m trying to find out how to pass the second level. I like the game, it´s fun and challenging, plus, it gots music!!
  11. Wow this is a very cool thing and idea with a marvelous game! I wonder why so few comments!
  12. I am guessing at least Magazine Luiza will get it. But if the 2600 is a major success then Casas Bahia
  13. All I know is I am very excited for it and will buy it as soon as it is possible here in Brazil. So far, no retailers here as of yet. Regarding my thoughts on it: 1- I personally only care about the 2600 and its games, period. 2- After studying more about it on several places on the net, I can say I´m happy about it overall. 3- Personally I love its iconic and exquisite 2600´s digital LEGO like graphics and I also love its 128 color palette. All this fuels the imagination (when you most likely see one color or multi color (vertical stripes) icons on the scren instead of super realistic graphics) 4- yes I also like its 2 channel sound... So yeah I am a complete 2600 lover. hence why I´ll pick it up Also, I haven´t had the 2600 since the 80s when I last had a Junior, so... this will be golden to me (holding a "replica" of the 4 switch) having the console with me to the end of my human time Can´t wait for more news and revelations on it. I´m going to Youtube everyday several times a day, hunting for more info even if it´s more of the same thing hahah!
  14. right (so it takes all 160 color clocks) but You can multi color the background at each scanline like I did on the sky. It´s because I thought you could do a wait on the background just like you can on a PF.. (racing the beam) like only start drawing when you want.. so it seems you cannot do that with the background according to you. I always had it to me that the backgound is indeed its own thing, even though all we can do with it is change its color on each scanline. That´s why on my webpage I teach that the Atari 2600 has 7 objects 1- background 2-PF 3-player0 4-player1 5-missile0 6-missile1 7-ball
  15. I see what you mean now... I´ll have to see how I will have to go about this... but gack to the missile question... looking at my character, the guy standing... maybe the easiest way out is to not build vertical walls at all huh? I know that the score and numbers need work too.. I´m leaving it for last, but that I know how to fix.. just keep them up top for example. So, but, wait, you´re telling me that the background can only ocupy all 160 color clocks on the screen... it can´t just be drawn in the middle like I did together with the walls
  16. Emptyness? like when you don´t code anything the screen is automatically black, right?
  17. The walls behind the TV are the room walls (playfield). The red carpet and the scenery outside the windows are the multi-colored background. The queen size bed and the wardrobe are part of the playfield... Now the missiles are the vertical strip on both edges/sides.. they are Here the same color as the back walls with windows! But because I think the missile colors are wrong (on the mockup), because they can´t get the PF colors (only the ball) that´s why I asked...
  18. Hi guys, wanted to get feedback on this bedroom regarding the vertical walls on the side! They are (in this case) missiles. I read that missile0 assumes the color of player0, but since the main char is multi-color, what color from the character does the missile assume in this particular scene? Else, is there a way around getting the side walls to be the same color as the room walls? (blue) or will I have to ditch the multi colored player sprite and make it the same color as the wall (blue) in order for the side walls to be blue? thanks
  19. What if they update their inner emulator to support all that?
  20. Another one I just made.. don´t mind the colors below as they are the 2600 palette I used Let´s break it down: The sky, the grass and the lower part of the mountain is the background. The mountain ridges, the train and rail are playfield (assymetrical).
  21. the left one was purely made in a 40x192 canvas
  22. I think it´s fun to just art out 2600 stuff... so if you got this same itch, bring in your concept arts Left.. I actually wanted to have the original 2600 numbering, so I got this screen together and threw in a lobster in the middle and the afamed black bars to the left. Right: I´m actually testing out this to really put into the windows executable game I´m making in this same vibe on the Fusion 2.5+ 2D engine.
  23. I enjoyed the art on the game very much and the tall trees and realistic coloring. Any chance you'll continue this project in this 2023?. Btw, I love the big Lego like playfield graphics in general, just so people know that I'm not a high res fanatic, hahah. I can also do free sprite art for the game if you need assistance on other game entities or Playfield scenery. I don't know how to code (in either Assembly nor Batari Basic) at all though.
  24. All batari made games seem to do this to the playfield (cutting them in stripes) ATURE ADVENTURE
