  1. Thanks for the replies. Yeah its really annoying but at least its only a few carts that have this issue. Its just to bad its the carts that I love; Secret of Evermore and Ogre Battle. I will try your suggestions. As for the FC 16 Go. You can buy it from amazon and other places but I buy my stuff from http://stoneagegamer.com/ . They are really reliable and ship stuff to you fairly fast. Note though that, all of the famiclones(the name or manufactured clone nes and snes machines), have the tab in them that prevent International carts to play. China has been doing this for a while now. They aren't intentionally trying to lock out these devices from playing international carts, they just think that its possible to blow the machine up by plugging in a cart backwards... You will have to drill out the tabs to get them to play the international games but once you do they play fine. The only issue is that after that, if your cart shifts(and it will because the port is much to big for the import carts), your game will freeze, reset or worse... Erase your save games...
  2. Well the FC-16 Go is a portable SNES. As the cartridges stick out the back and you can move the unit around, its very easy to shift the cartridge.
  3. This actually happened with my snes version 2(licensed new version of the super nintendo that came out in the late 90s). Originally I thought it was simply because the SNES was old. Well this occurs on my FC-16 Go and it apparently happens no matter what. I believe its a cartridge problem. As you may know, when you shift a catridge around in the port it will reset or freeze. The problem is, a few of my carts can easily be shifted and they will freeze. Its really annoying. I believe its due to the loose board inside the cart. I am wondering if there is any way to fix this, to prevent the cart from shifting around. Whats really annoying is when it resets and ends up erasing all my save data. This only really happens with a few games, namely: Secret of evermore and Ogre Battle. I believe its simply due to crappy building of the cartridges and usage over time exaggerating the build quality of the cart. Its getting frustrating when my games reset.
  4. Here is the back and front of my super mario rpg cart. Compare any numbers you see on the cart to ones that are working. Maybe theres two different version or maybe more version of the cart out there and only certain ones are working. Its strange how Super Mario RPG works on version 1 but not 2. I wonder what exactly is different?
  5. It seriously works perfectly. I couldn't be more happy with the combination and highly recommend the FC 16 Go and PowerPak together. The cost of the PowerPak scared me off initially, but the portability advantages of the PowerPak and an FC 16 Go make the price well worth it. Hey StoneAge - do you know if there are any wall chargers for the batteries of the FC-16 Go? I just got the double capacity battery from you guys and think it would be great if I could charge the original battery while the double capacity battery charges in the system. I actually have some. Not on site yet though. I'll send you a PM when I get home. I am browsing from phone now. After watching gamester81's review I went and tried out my super mario rpg cartridge and I can confirm it doesn't work with mine(version 2). I tried to blow it out and clean it and no dice. At least it plays most other games. What it might be is, certain super mario rpg cartridges work and some not. Many times they will release different versions of a Cart. Edit: I just popped the cart into the Version 1...... AND IT WORKS. What the heck. I never got around to play this game and never really popped it in until version 2. But apparently it works on version 1 but not 2. Very Strange!
  6. Wow nonner that looks awesome. By the way stoneagegamer, I decided to go ahead and just hold onto the version 2. Now that I got both controllers working there is really no good reason to send it back. I can deal with the screen being kind of beat up. I also noticed a few long fairly deep scratches from the bottom of the flip top screen to the bottom of the screen cover(the cover in the middle of the screen). They may have been to much in a hurry producing these and knicked mine trying to put it together. I don't really care about looks, as long as I can play it to be honest though. And it plays perfectly, except for the obvious D-pad issue lol. By the way I wanted to say thank you for getting this out to us so fast. I really liked the tape you used to seal the box as well, very funny. If anyone is wondering what I am talking about. Go back to your box and read what it says on the tape that sealed the box. I didn't really even notice it until a bit ago.
  7. That was not my intention at all. All of the FC-16 gos work great when you realize the market you are buying them from. China made electronics is not exactly known for its quality. The D-Pad change was the main reason I purchased version 2, kind of disappointed its the same as version 1 with its responsiveness. Maybe they will get it right in version 3 if they ever make one. Either way I highly recommend version 2 if you don't have one of these period. If you have one and are purchasing it for the improved D-pad, you will be disappointed. However if you guys find that the D-pad after a few weeks playing it actually seems to improve, please post a reply. It may just in fact require breaking in as you say. I would love the D-pad on the controllers to replace the one of the device, I wonder why they can't do that?
  8. Yeah Its really not your fault as it was sent through yobo to you. I will just go ahead and package it up in the package it came in and send it back. Thanks for the reply. I had no idea there was a way to get the controller to sync, Guess I should have read through the instructions. I will send a email to your returns email address to let you know my order number and my address and all that for returns so you know who to expect the return to come from.
  9. Hey all. I got my FC-16 go version 2 in yesterday and have been playing with it a bit. I wanted to register and reply here because this was the actual post I found out about version 2 from. After reading this post a week or so ago I went and preordered from www.stoneagegamer.com So I was excited to get version 2 in. Well I am a wee bit disappointed with version 2. I made a video to outline and show the differences between them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lz8e2vTf4mU Now the broken controllers and the misplaced crooked screen cover is mainly a factory defect and probably won't effect many other people buying this version so keep that in mind. What disappoints me the most though is the fact that the D-pad is pretty much exactly the same.
