Gary from OPA replied to JJB's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Many thanks to @RickyDean the extra board I bought from him arrived today and now I will soon be able to build my own unit and check out the hard work and amazing things that @JJB has done to get all working on a TI99.- 72 replies

yeah, sadly the aliexpress and ebay resellers will be buying up stock and then charging more money soon as the news spreads. fpga cores are nice, but still having original parts are still best for building things, there always tiny little glitches or timing changes in the fpga cores, and then you have the issue fpga's themselves stop production more often then the original parts, and you have to port over the code to a new part, and overall some fpga's are more costly as well, and then there is programming side, and 3.3volt or 1.5volt level conversion as well, plus i still personally like having DIP only pcboards that can be easy assembled without all that smt stuff.

Sad to see the end of the Z80 Zilog era my first love is the TMS9900 but I also have a lot of respect for the MSX community and their amazing passion to keep making new games & hardware. I hope soon to again own some Z80 systems as many used the TMS9918 & V9938 video chips.

Innermost Secrets Of TI-99/4A by Randy Holcomb This was originally a series of articles in the Computer Shopper, and it was reprinted in booklet format, and I didn't see any good copy of it on the Internet, so decided to test out my Canon MF3010 scanner in seeing how well it makes a PDF, as I have a number of printed items, including some of my own source code only in paper format, so I wanted to do a test run to see how well I can scan a number of pages and do an OCR if possible on them. Looking forward to any experts out there on suggestions on what are good settings or software to use for the equipment I have which currently is just a Canon MF3010 and sadly can only manually do one page at time. In the meantime, enjoy this PDF of this booklet which is good beginner guide to using the VDP and file DSR for assembly language programmers out there that want to get started coding on the TI-99/4a computers. 🥰 TI99-InnermostSecrets.PDF

Finishing touchup to my bare office walls, by adding today a colorful 99/4 marketing poster. "The Texas Instruments Home Computer gives you a tutor, an accountant, a librarian, a file clerk and a pro football team in your own home." What artworks should I add next to my office?

Best to send a PM message to @arcadeshopper as some items he builds on order so he can tell you what is available. -

First the resume were being only scanned by AI now the second step the interview is being done by AI as well with a fake human. Might as well go the final step and code myself as AI to reply back to the AI interviewer.

Best two things to get is a finalgrom99 and the sidecar that works as a tipi with 32k. That the simple way to do things. There also a Sams sidecar if you want to have more than 32k. https://www.arcadeshopper.com/wp/store/#!/FinalGROM99-cartridges-cases-and-parts/c/24438345 https://www.arcadeshopper.com/wp/store/#!/Sidecar-SAMS-with-44pin-header-for-TIPI/p/176285041/category=115338525 https://www.arcadeshopper.com/wp/store/#!/Raspberry-PI-ZeroW-pre-soldered-with-TIPI-connector/p/105647940/category=115338525 -
Phoenix 2001 Recallit v2.00 Source Code Release from the O.P.A. 1991 Archive Here is another great TMS9900 assembly code release from our archives, this program was one of the first to use RAMBO memory to store a name/address database allowing for very fast sorting, searching, etc. Sadly, over the years I have lost the original manual for it that was included when TI99'ers bought the program from O.P.A. back during the '90s, if anyone has a printed copy they could scan in that would be great! Enjoy! 🥳 -=(GaryOPA)=- Original O.P.A.
