yeah, there is some type of patch wire connected there. -- it is best if he removed the compact flash adapter part and takes some more photos of the nanopeb board itself, and figures out why there is patch wire on the unit, as that is not normal.

Cherry MX compatible upgrade for Mitsumi 99/4A keyboards
Gary from OPA replied to visrealm's topic in TI-99/4A Development
One question about the photo with the metal brackets across it, not all ti99 keyboards had those, are they really still needed now that it is a stronger PCB compared to the original design and no longer a membrane layer? -
People want refunds after spending thousands on a hotel room in Niagara Falls to watch the eclipse and it’s cloudy skies! 😳 WVU5Dmrj0zKdxKd8.mp4
-
This is the best it got here, with 99% coverage for about 2 minutes the streetlights came on and the bottom part of the cloudy sky was all dark. And then about 10 minutes after the event all the clouds disappeared and now you can get a sunburn there so much sun out.

the memory test shows that the 32k ram is working, but that is on the pcboard itself, nothing to do with the CF card. -- It could be an issue with the adapter to CF part as well. -- Do you have any pictures you could send?

thanks i will try that out, i have firefox on both my windows 11 desktop and windows 10 laptop, it is only my laptop win10 system that gives me the most headaches.
-
two things i hate about firefox that i wish they would fix someday. first, whenever there is a new version, and it updates, it takes forever or a bunch of forced restarts after the update before their stupid ghostery adblock thingy, updates its scripts and you can browse the web, it stays in like a half off and half on stage making it impossible to do anything until it updates. sometimes i have to restart 3 times before it works, sometimes it takes like 20 to 30 restarts of the browser to unfreeze it and allow me to use the web ok. today, it was 15 force restarts for it to unfreeze and start working. the second thing i don't like about firefox, is however it does their update, with the agent version string is all the websites i am logged into that use 2fa/otp auth think i am on a new device and browser, and i got to have those websites resend the 2fa/otp code to login fully again, even tho i was just logged in before the firefox browser update.

Introducing APEDSK99: 3x DS/SD, 32K, FTP, NTP
Gary from OPA replied to JJB's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Since I decided to buy one of the extra PCBoards from Ricky Dean that he was so kind to offer, I will be building one of these shortly, and looking forward to seeing how it works, and what more might be possible with this design, I read thru the Github by @JJB and looked at the two PDF's in regard to building it, is there a full parts list to grab everything from a place like Mouser which would be best for me with their low cost to shipping to Canada. -- Any new hints or suggestions or pitfalls not on the Github that I should take notice of? -- Has there been any work on making usage of the extra 24k of ram space for larger DSR? - I didn't come across it yet but in regard to the CRU base which one does it use the >1100 one? -- And is it possible to use other CRU bases? - Or even I wonder somehow to assign a different CRU base to each 8k DSR, that could be a way of using the other 24k of space. -- I will need to study this more, I am just thinking about it, and it will be a couple of weeks at least before I get all the needed parts in to build it anyway. -- It would be nice still to be able to use the PEB as well, but I guess that could be done via a special adapter turning this on its side maybe, since I getting the ones with the added fingers on it from Ricky.- 72 replies

I looked at that before and even still being in Canada and it using the beagle one it would run me close to almost 250 to 300 cad for all the parts. Whereas the zuluscsi is available locally from a Toronto builder and total cost was under 100 cad including the 3d printed case for it.

Personally, I like to get an new IDE card as you can still get working spinning hard drives for it. For Scsi next to impossible like my hdfc card without any mfm drives. At least on scsi the sdcard emulators like zuluscsi are very affordable compared to mfm emulators for the hdfc. For me I glad my WHTech card is working after 13 years in storage as all my archives were on Syquest 135mb cartridges so that was great help. I still like to see some better disk management apps for handling multiple drives on various interfaces. Might just have to code one up myself. And still we need to break through the 260mb limit at some point as well.

Today, I was testing out my personal backyard spot for the solar moon event thingy tomorrow. It will be hitting me around 3:19pm EST with 99% coverage. Today, it was perfect with 13c and not a single cloud, sadly for the 2 million plus visitors here sleeping in the hotels and Airbnb tonight for the big event, the weather person is predicting cloudy sky with temperature being only 9c. Either way tomorrow, I will take a picture, hopefully my camera not my eyes will capture something if the clouds are partially gone by the afternoon.

With zuluscsi and my Syquest drive, I am happy with my WHTech card. But I would mind having a second Scsi system.

Someone bought the Horizon Ramdisk, hopefully it went to a good home that will be using it, and not into a collection pile to reappear at twice the price in a few weeks like previous affordable Horizon Ramdisks. -
BREAKING REPORT: ⚠️ Massive container ship loses power near NYC’s Verrazzano Bridge.. DEVELOPING.. A giant container ship experienced a power outage in the waters near New York City and was safely anchored close to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge on Friday night. This incident occurred shortly after a similar situation with another large cargo ship led to a collision with Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge less than two weeks earlier. The US Coast Guard verified that their Vessel Traffic Service was alerted to the 89,000-ton M/V Qingdao losing its propulsion around 8:30 p.m. while navigating through the Kill Van Kull waterway, which is the maritime passage between Staten Island and Bayonne, New Jersey.

Darn squirrels, that is a big hole they ripped into my screen in the den window. At least my two other windows that open are ok, no damage to them.
