We all heard about the Apple Vision Pro. Well our good old TI VDP Guru Karl himself has written a great technical writeup about it. https://kguttag.com/2024/03/01/apple-vision-pros-optics-blurrier-lower-contrast-than-meta-quest-3/ Some good reading there. For those newcomers here Karl is the amazing engineer that greatly helped in producing our TMS9918 and later on the TMS9995 before moving onto the 320 and 340 series of DSP chips with TI.

P-Card disk set marked "Internal Use Only" -- what is this?
Gary from OPA replied to OLD CS1's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Maybe a early beta test release. Or the later control data version. Make a disk image of them and then we can compare to the current known ones. -
TI994A TMS9918 palette file for GNU Gimp?
Gary from OPA replied to jrhodes's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Some more info: 1.1) Colours Taken from mess/vidhrdrw/tms9928a.c in MESS, by Raphael Nabet. The first 3 columns are taken from the TI datasheet (in volts). The next 3 columns are based on this formula: Y = .299*R + .587*G + .114*B (NTSC) The coefficients are likely to be slightly different with PAL. I assumed the "zero" for R-Y and B-Y was 0.47V. The last 3 coeffs are the 8-bit values. TI994A TMS9918 palette file for GNU Gimp?
Gary from OPA replied to jrhodes's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Check out this neat program by @Tursi called Convert9918 it does wonders to match the color set on the 9918. http://www.harmlesslion.com/software/convert9918/ -
Going thru all my archives of information, I came across this CD-ROM from TI and thought it would be best to archive it and share it here, for those that might have a board using the powerful TMS320C80 MVP chips! Sadly, its from the era of 1994 so it no longer works in today's Windows. I don't have a virtual machine setup yet with older windows to test it, and see what info it offers. But thought it would be best to share it. MVP_ONLINE_REFERENCE.zip MVP_ONLINE_REFERENCE.ISO

We just had like 6 coronal mass ejections from that sunspot AR3664. We're getting auroras for the important parts of America (and probably most of Europe). So, go outside tonight for a once in 170 year treat!

🚨BREAKING🚨: For the first time ever, Olive Garden is doing an in-resturaunt promotion in partnership with an upcoming movie release! The first one in the restaurant's entire history is for the Garfield Movie, coming to theaters May 24th! https://m.olivegarden.com/specials/garfield-movie Oh'well, too bad there is no more Olive Garden in Canada, would have been a great way to celebrate my 1 year of freedom in Canada, as Gary is in fact is originally a short form of Garfield and my dad was named Garfield so he always loved the comic strip and I love pasta!
