No problem.. just gimme a shout when you're ready to trade. Cheers, KA

I agree 100% with you guys. What disturbs me most is the anti-collector rants that have been going on here for the last 6 months or so. It's upsetting to me because what lead me to Atari Age in the first place was the huge database of info. Now it seems Atari Age has turned into a big IRC chat room. Nothing at all wrong with that, but it isn't really what I'm looking for. Of course, I still come here lots... I'd get really bored at work if I didn't. KA

The best way to find out if someone is a good trader is to just ask the other members here. I'll vouch for Stan, Lemmi, Crossbow, Mike Bossy, Ianoid, BuyAtari, Curt Vendel, and about 4 or 5 others I can't recall off the top of my head (sorry guys). KA
-
Yes, but they run in the neighbourhood of a few hundred dollars (seriously). Or you can do what I did.. go find a broken old VCR at a garage sale (I haven't paid more than $3 for one), and use that as a tuner. KA

How my trading system works: All games are loose, and it is assumed that the label and the cart is in good shape. I'll let you know the condition of any cart you're interested in, and I'd like to know the condition of the cart you have to trade. Each game has been assigned a Level.. the higher the Level, the more sought after the game is. I will trade any game on my "Extras" list for any game on my "Want" List if they have the same level.. (e.g. A Level "2" cart for a Level "2" cart). I'll make any trade so long as the number of Level points is roughly equal. So I'll trade a "Level 4" cart for 2 "Level 2" carts or 4 "Level 1" carts. So please let me know if there are any trades you'd like to make. I hope to add other games to my "Extras" list in the coming weeks. Thanks for letting us know Tim... I really appreciate the updates and I'm sure others do as well. What I want to know is why eBay isn't calling law enforcement in to deal with this guy. I don't think eBay realizes that they're scaring off a lot of potential customers with this nonsense. KA
-
I'm speechless. Absolutely speechless. Why did we let this guy come back to Atari Age? KA
-
Is it by Sunrise or CBS? And is it PAL or NTSC? KA
-
Who the hell cares about his physical condition? Seriously. That's not the issue here, and it never was.. and Atwood's physiological state, one way or the other, does not change the validity of Alex's actions. You're obviously a bright guy, but I often wonder if you try to go out of your way to be hated around here. KA
-
Why the heck does it matter what Mr. Atwood's physical condition is? Don't you think it's a little insensitive and crude to be asking those questions in a public forum? KA
-
Where in Canada are you? I might be able to put together an affordable package for your cousin. Cheers, KA

Thanks for the tips Adrian.. I'll definately be trading in my excess Nintendo stuff.. I guess I'll have to spend the time de-blinking them all first, but it's definately worth the money. I'd love to rack up a big credit at Gamestop.. there's a ton of Dreamcast games I'm interested in, as well as getting a PS2 and a GA. Plus my misguided brother-in-law wants a XBOX, so maybe I'll get it for him with some of my credit. KA
-
I've been thinking of trading in a pile of NES units.. I have about 40 of them or so lying around, and I'd love a PS2. Two questions: 1. I understand they give a $35 credit.. is that for the system, 2 controllers, RF, power supply, and the zapper? And what condition do the units have to be in? All of mine work, but many of them are blink prone. Did you guys put new connectors in them, etc? 2. Are there any GameStops in Western New York (Niagara Falls, Buffalo or Rochester?) Cheers, KA
-
Cool.. I'm glad they're showing up. I'll be away from e-mail until Tuesday, so to the people I have pending trades with.. well.. you won't hear from me until then. Don't worry too much. KA

FS: rare box variation of Pigs in Space?
King Asmo replied to wrandal's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Canada is NTSC, tho, and not PAL. The box looks consistent with 5 language NTSC boxes from Canada, so that's why I figure the game is NTSC. KA -
I'm definately interested in making a big trade with you.. I think I have a bunch of things you can use. Unfortunately, I will be away from the computer until Tuesday, so we can't start working on a trade until then. Cheers, KA
-
If it has a Hills tag on it, it's NTSC. Guaranteed. Lots of North American carts were issued with multi-language text, particularly in Canada. That's a nice box you have there.. I've never seen one before. Cheers, KA
-
D'oh.. is there somewhere I can upload to the picture to? KA
-
Here's a scan of the box. Note the Zellers price sticker: I wonder how many other of the 5 language boxes are completely different colors. KA
-
Can somebody see if the pictures are coming up now.. the link again is: http://merctech.20megsfree.com/boxedgames/index.html It is *really* not recommend for people with slow connections, as right now I have all the pictures on one page. I'll do something a little more permanent later. Cheers, KA
-
Also keep in mind that the PS2 is compatible with 99% of the original Playstation games out there, so it by far has the biggest library of games... so there's really something there for everybody. I have a Dreamcast, but I don't have any of the 3 newest ones. I'm leaning towards the PS2 for that reason. The Gamecube is cheaper and has some great games. The XBox also has a few quality titles, but I think it will be dead in 12-18 months. My local EB has all their XBox stuff tucked away in one corner.. which is smaller than the display area for Dreamcast games! KA
-
I don't have the box in front of me (I'm at work right now), but I do recall it's a Warner Communication era box.. so what would that be.. 1983 maybe? KA
-
I find stuff in weird places and have stuff randomly go missing.. but I have a hyperactive cat, 2 dogs, and a girlfriend who tends to forget things.. so I usually chalk it up to one of those factors. I didn't have room to store *all* my boxed games, so I just narrowed it down to NIB games. I find them more interesting, plus I've got loose copies of all the games as well if I want to play one of them. RE: NES.. I actually would prefer loose games.. not boxed ones.. so that's okay. KA
-
How do you keep track of what carts you have?
King Asmo replied to General Atarian's topic in Atari 2600
Kids? I work with MATH! Ewww. I just signed a four month contract to do corporate bond research for an Applied Math department. Normally I'm an Economist, but I had the summer off and I needed something to do. I can't tell you how many carts I have, but I can make you a nice graph showing how the number of carts I own grows exponetially as my income increases (or atleast, it *would* if I ever got a raise). KA
