  1. Thanks for the advice! How do you make most of your finds.. auctions, ads in the paper, word of mouth, etc? KA
  2. Do you really think a sealed video game system is a good investment? I mean a Darth Vader in 1986 would have run you about $80.. if you had put that money in equities, it would now be worth well over $300.. and new in the box Ataris are selling quite that high. How much would a new in the box Sega Saturn sell for today? I haven't seen the price of Dreamcasts "skyrocket" in my area at all... are they really going for that much more on eBay than they used to? KA
  3. An easy way to avoid RF issues with the 2600 is to play your games on a Coleco Adam with the 2600 adapter, like I do.. the Adam will output to any standard Commodore style monitor.. it gets a really sweet picture. Of course, you have to deal with the big honking printer/power supply. KA
  4. Does anyone know of a good place to get working arcade games in the Toronto area? My girlfriend and I are looking to add one to our loft there. Cheers, KA
  5. I'm interested in pre-1980 baseball cards, but I doubt thats what you had in mind. KA
  6. I don't think it's a hardware problem, because I'm in a lab with 8 computers, and they all crash multiple times a day (some more than others). I tried installing Opera for Redhat (I have both IE and Opera for 2000 on my home computer), and the system crashed. Seriously. I guess I should try it again. My girlfriend's Dad keeps telling me how great and stable Linux is, but I haven't seen it. Using xwindows, windows randomly close, or close when you ask them to minimize.. sometimes xwindows closes altogether and leads me to a command prompt.. but most of the time, the system just randomly reboots. It seems to only do that when I'm actively using a program.. I can leave a simulation going for 2 days, and nothing will crash, but if I try to print something with Gnumeric or open a webpage it doesn't like, it's SPLAT. I had to leave work today at 1 because I wasn't getting enough work done. KA
  7. You'd probably be best off making something for an 8-bit computer, such as the Atari 800 or Commodore 64 line. KA
  8. My definition of a classic is anything I can find at a yard sale which sells for less than 10% of what it did brand new. I figure if the Colecovision was considered a classic in 1994-1995 (and it was, because I was on RGVC back then and remember those discussions), then I figure the NES should be considered a classic in 2002. KA
  9. I have the same problem at work, using Netscape 4.79 with Redhat 6.1. I really, really, REALLY hate Linux. I just thought I should mention that. My P2-500 at work crashes like 5-10 times a day, and takes about 10 minutes to reboot. My P2-300 running Windows 2000 crashes about once every 4 months, and takes 3 minutes to reboot. Is Linux really that bad, or do I just have a horrible SysAdmin? KA
  10. You've got some great NES titles there for 2 bucks.. I may pick some of them up after I do inventory... I'm not sure which ones I need right now. Overall, I'd say you've got really, really good prices. I'd be surprised if you didn't sell out most of the things on your list. KA
  11. I've got some of the games you're looking for available on my site.. unfortunately, I don't think I need any of your games.. or vegetables. I am looking to get Atari 8-bit games, full sized arcade games, and cute cuddly kittens in trade, tho. KA
  12. You're selling Front Loading consoles at $2 each?!? Did you know that Funcoland will give you a $35 in-store credit for each complete working system? KA

  14. I don't think it's all that shocking.. or should be all that worrying. I mean, by the time these kids were of the age to get into videogaming, the Atari 2600 had been dead for 10 years. Why should they know about it? I was born in the mid 1970's, and I'm a fan of 1960s TV shows.. tho most of the people I know aren't.. so I'll make a reference to the Six Million Dollar Man or The Prisoner, and it will go right over their heads.. so it works for all age groups. KA
  15. If there's something not on there that you're looking for, just ask, and I'll see if I can find it for you. Cheers, KA
  16. No, he's thinking he might get sued if he releases the code.. which he technically doesn't own. KA
  17. I think the best thing to do would be to learn what games are rare, and which aren't.. and have a rough idea of what the values for certain games are.. then buy any game that's a "bargain". I mean, if you find a game of rarity 8 or 9, and decide you don't want it, there's dozens of people who would trade you 20 to 50 different uncommon games for it, so you might as well pick it up. At the same time, if you want to be a serious Atari collector some day, I wouldn't trade really rare carts for piles of uncommon ones.. because eventually, you'll find all the uncommon games.. but you might never find the rare title you gave up again. KA
  18. I've got tons of Intellivision stuff I'd like to trade/sell.. it's all on my website. Cheers, KA
  19. Thanks. I'm also interested in trades, if anyone has any excess games they'd like to part with. As far as Atari stuff goes, I only need rare-ish 2600 games, and I don't really collect for the 5200, and the 7800. But I need a *ton* of 8-bit computer carts, so I'm always looking for those. I also just picked up an Atari 520ST yesterday, and would be interested in picking up interesting items for it. Cheers, KA
  20. I have extra systems, but no boxes or instructions, etc. I *do* have a ton of games, complete in the box, tho, that you may be interested once you have a system. Cheers, KA
  21. I kind of like the idea of using Cart names, though we should try to have something resembling a logical order. I propose that AtariAge Sorceror be the lowest rank. KA

    No Label

I wouldn't play "Label Lotto" as Pitfall Harry calls it for more than 50 cents a cart. Whenever I play, I *always* seem to get Q*Bert or Popeye.. once I got an Empire Strikes Back and an Amidar cart. Woo. 95% or more label-less carts I've ever seen are Parker Bros. ones, so that's why I've gotten so many Popeyes and Q*Berts. KA
  23. My four rarest NTSC 2600 carts are: Music Machine Gas Hog Master Builder Robin Hood/Sir Lancelot KA
  24. Disk software or cart software? As far as disks go, I *love* MULE and Drelbs. Carts.. well.. depends on what your tastes are. Star Raiders is amazing for that machine. KA
  25. Do you think someone should contact eBay RE: this auction? KA
