Any chance for the reset button?
OK, should be quite easy.

I don't know if Richard still sells them
Yes, I have some built.

Looking to buy an original Vectrex lightpen. Loose is OK.
Thanks

Looks like the brightness is turned up too far. Perhaps that pot is also broken.

Well spotted

The microcontroller was badly soldered in (misaligned with the pads)

I've fixed your AtariVox+. PM me with your shipping address.
Thanks

I just wish someone had a 3D printed case to offer
I'm going to have a go at 3D printing a case once my kit gets here.

Send it to me, I'll have a look at it for you.

It does use power from the port so maybe you had a weak cap (or some other piece) and it was the last straw????
I would say that's possible. It's definitely not directly caused by the Avox.
Some display distortions can be caused by a faulty PSU.

It's fake. I've had some of these and they work slower / more inconsistently than the genuine part

If you want to 3D print one, here's a model I did (with 'D' shaped hole) -

As you can see this piece of hardware is no original one. Its from 2001. Would not spent more than 10-20 bucks for it.
you can built your own one like this with a wooden case or 3D-printer ! it's basically the same item than this one
I used to own one. It was the most beautiful, hand-crafted controller I've ever seen, a real work of art. Broke my heart when I had to sell it

I have tried clear filament but it turns out semi-opaque. It's the defraction caused by the multiple layers.

It's the limits of FDM printers (the type most use at home - cheapest).
Better printers, like Objet, start at about $30K (and the UV liquid is $500 per Kg).

Please do it, I REALLY want to see it working

OK, I've built a few AtariVox USB interfaces.
If you're a developer, I will send you one for no charge.
(AAMOI I recently got burned with some fake FT232RL's. These chips work inconsistently and slower than the real version)
