  1. Listening to 80's playlists on Spotify. It sets the right mood for adapting arcade graphics to the 2600.

I don't pay a dime for Spotify. I just put up with the ads. No worse than actual radio.

I think they should call it "super sweeper" instead of curling. That would make more sense.

I think it'd be better to have Olympic Shuffle Board...And you wouldn't need skating rinks to do it. IMO, It'd easily be more entertaining with less resources ...But Thumbs up for Cocoa Puffs! (Been Forever)

  3. The script for Star Wars: Episode IX is finished. Yeah... well, I was finished with it as soon as I heard J.J. was directing again. http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/02/22/star-wars-episode-ix-script-is-complete-filming-to-begin-in-july

I'm kind of surprised that JJ came back. He set up all these intriguing story threads in TFA, and TLJ just chucked them all out the window and killed Luke, and now Leia is dead, too. What else is there for the other characters to do, besides go back to the goofy casino planet with the Porgs to free more space llamas?

Agreed. I always liked/rooted for the Mariners against the rest of the AL....but we're going to get fleeced by the East Coast clubs. ALWAYS. The fix has always been in. The umps will throw the game. They control it. MLB doesn't want computers/lasers seeing how bad calls are botched. The umps will throw a World Series Game (98' Padres/vs Yanks)

And the same rule for e.g. ski-jumping, alpine skiing, skating, cross-country, biathlon, curling etc. pp., right?

In South Korea we now would have only short track and speed skating.

    3. carlsson

      carlsson

Valid points. In South Korea they have reused golf courses for cross-country skiing and biathlon. Indoor arenas in theory are easier to reuse, though Sochi still has a surplus skating rink waiting to get disassembled and moved elsewhere. Mountains probably are very expensive to build, so the Netherlands doesn't need to apply unless they co-host with a neighbouring country.

IMO the IOC should define 3 to 5 Olympic cities and alternate between them. But due to hefty corruption benefits for the IOC members this will never happen.

Hmm... watched it just now and seemed fairly decent to me. I kind of like the new Star Wars movies for what they are. If you don't sit and over analyze them to death, they're at least on a par with the best of the super hero movies that's been flooding out for years now. In other words, I'll take these Star Wars offshoots over most of the crap being released these days.

It's crazy to think that 24" is small. The LCD TV on my bed is 26" and it's huge because of the bigger frame around the screen and the TV's back. Newer LCDs that are 32" are even smaller than mine because all a TV in 2018 is a screen on a stand.

If RCT for the switch was such a great idea then how come they can't secure private funding? Sucks to see any iteration of Atari begging for a loan from the public.

    2. jaybird3rd

      jaybird3rd

Yeah, RCT is an established franchise, so why do they have to crowdfund it??? "Atari" may not have much clout, but you'd think they'd be able to secure private investment just on the strength of the franchise (if people really wanted it).

  17. Reasons to bid on Boulder Dash: 1) If you don't win it, other collectors will openly laugh at you. 2) If you do win, you can openly laugh at other collectors. 3) You'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 4) Rumor has it, the diamonds are edible. 5) It's probably a good game. So there's that, too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/222781581956

  18. It's entirely possible some of the diamonds may be real... then you'd feel pretty stupid for not bidding on it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/222781581956

Maybe I should bid 2,000 dollars. Then it will get more attention and a crazy bidding war will be started that will gain national attention and the game will end up selling for 5 million dollars.

  19. The last chance in the history of the entire universe to buy a copy of Boulder Dash for the 2600: https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/222781581956 (note: may not apply to your particular universe)

You've -never- flown? Ever? Wow. I've probably flown hundreds of times, I'm not sure I could even estimate accurately. You should give it a try sometime; maybe a local flight on a small sight-seeing plane. Flying is amazing - it's all the security theater bullshit that sucks.

    4. GoldLeader

The only thing I really hate about security, other than having to get there early is taking off your shoes, because of the shoe bomber...But the trick to flying is to hit the airport bar beforehand...2 beers and I'm good :) And hopefully No Turbulence!
