Like the man behind me in the theater said, "I liked this movie the first time I saw it - in 1977."

Yep, didn't take long to figure out this "new" movie is basically a retelling of the originals. Still liked it well enough though. :-)

I like it the first time I saw it - in 1977 - a lot better. It was okay, but still not as good as the original trilogy. This is part of the reason.

  2. Listening to Steely Dan on Spotify... amazing how unique and timeless some music still is.

I remember almost nothing about the TV Show. I was born in 1971, so I must have watched it and liked it, because I do know I asked for and got the Space:1999 ship for Christmas or my birthday one year in the late 70's.  But other than that I don't actually remember anything about it. I had to Google it to figure out what it was about.

Loved Space 1999.   There was a fun crossover movie with Battlestar Galactica which I could not find on Youtube, but this alternate intro was pretty cool...

both should come up with some lottery numbers together, and run a random number generator based/running on the same cpu as your states use for their games of chance.

You might hit it big spending just 3 to 7 dollars each!

I normally don't like any of that kind of stuff unless the odds are known and changing in my favor!

Getting tired of these handhelds with these tiny weenie little screens, considering the market these would appeal to they should consider the failing eyesight of the older generation. I mean come on.

these days I wont even consider anything with less than a 5' screen and even then I prefer at least a 7' screen.

      Flojomojo

Dentists perform dental repairs, and they need tools to do it. Is this such a stretch? You're on a site where the last machine produced by the website's namesake has had its plastic molds repurposed into dental cameras (as well as scam video game revival consoles, but that's a subject for a different discussion, one with 9,805 replies)

There are actually 4 'Alberts.' Three of them are minions who have been surgically altered and attend gaming shows. The real Albert lives in a tower atop a high mountain peak in Texas and strokes a fluffy white cat while randomly banning people from chat.

  13. For the first time in years - I started drawing again tonight, for no other reason than for the sheer joy of it. No goal. No intent. No purpose. Cartooning is way more fun without any pressure involved (self-imposed, or otherwise). I need to do more of this.

By now, they must have issued more security updates for Flash than there are lines of code in the Flash code base. What the hell is so wrong with Flash that it needs so many "updates"?

    3. jaybird3rd

      jaybird3rd

There isn't a native Flash for FreeBSD (my OS of choice), and I'm glad. Not being able to look at a YouTube video on occasion is worth it to avoid all the hassles.

Replay is awful, as well. Man running to third on a close play at first, he's tagged out, meanwhile call is disputed at first, they change the call -- now what do you do with the runner? Imho replay is ruining the game.

    4. Nathan Strum

      Nathan Strum

Agreed on the replays. They should only use them to check on whether or not a ball is a home run. I think that's still a legitimate use.
