Problem is no one else wants clunky passive displays.

Demand for "smart" and "connected" is soaring at a breakneck pace!

I just read that Philips are cancelling sales of "curved" TVs in Scandinavia, calling them marketing gimmicks. Perhaps that is the start of a new era, where television is just that - a hires display of moving pictures with sound, not an entire entertainment system?

  2. 110°F today... and it's supposed to get hotter over the next two days. Yay, Southern California...

I wish there were more to it. It was OK, though. Seemed like a big-budget TV episode to me.

Solo used to be my favorite SW character as a kid. Now that I'm older, I identify a LOT more with Luke, he's got truth and justice and idealism on his side

or at least he did until Last Jedi, which is more like how I feel these days

I'd give it maybe a six. At least it didn't frustrate the hell out of me like Infinity War's ending.

I thought it was Great! When all was said and done, I might have made it more Star Wars-y, but great nonetheless.

I've had to do this, too. Didn't like it. Generally, my boss has always agreed with everything I say. For whatever that's worth.

I figure if we're in agreement, we're just wasting our time with the evaluation. Let's get some work done.

  11. Just saw the best commercial ever. No audio, just text that said "The following 30 seconds of silence are brought to you by McKee's 37", and some additional text describing their car care products. Silence is golden. I actually went over to their website to check them out. I'd love to see more advertisers do that. It would save wear and tear on my mute button.

Doctor Who leaving Netflix made me mad. I too should have watched it. I tried to record the show before it did. Said it would have Doctor Who till February 1st, and at midnight February 1st it left. Only recorded like 4 episodes before the show left.
